《Alamat (Legend)》Act 2: Beginning of a Journey; chapter 15: The Kapre

“Who are you, and why are you making this girl suffer?!” Lola Yma this time did not twist any of the feathers, but her tone shifted into that of an angry person. She then twisted one of the two feathers she already twisted, causing another bout of painful screams to fill the house.
Getting no response from the entity, Lola Yma then pulled out three more white feathers from her bag and placed them on the woman’s other foot, following the same arrangement she did before. She also took out some lana oil and poured a few drops onto her palms and coated her hands with it. Then she started to massage the foot of the woman with her hands that were covered in lana oil.
“Wh-What are you doing!? Stop it! It burns!” The entity inside the woman started to panic.
Lola Yma on the other hand pretended not to hear anything and abruptly twisted one of the newly inserted feathers on her toes. A much more painful shout came out of the woman’s mouth, and her body convulsed, froth started to form on her mouth, and only the whites of her eyes could be seen. The previous haughty and malicious expression she has is now gone.
“Stop! I am burning and in pain! Stop it!” The entity inside the woman said in a tone that sounded afraid.
Lola Yma was not moved and twisted the other end of the newly inserted feather. A painful scream was heard again, but this time it was weaker. Lola Yma, however, does not seem satisfied as she twisted the third feather from the newly inserted ones. This time, there was no shout but a weak whimper.
“Who are you, and why are you making this girl suffer?” Lola Yma asked again, this time her tone was softer, but it did not mask the authority that came with it.

“I-I will talk. Just please stop torturing me.” A weak voice sounded out from the woman; however, it was still deep like a man’s voice.
“Then talk, or else…” Threatened the old woman.
“I-I am a spirit residing in a Molave tree in the forest near here.” Answered the entity weakly.
“What kind of spirit and what kind of tree is your home?” Inquiry Lola Yma.
“I am a Kapre. My home is the group of Molave trees in the forest with the one in the center that grows straight up and towers over the other molave in its group. It is the only group of Molave that has such distinction in the forest, so it is very eye-catching.” Though the voice was weak, it was still loud enough that all eleven people inside the house heard it. It seems that the entity that was possessing the woman’s body was a kapre.
“Why are you making this woman suffer? What did she do that made you want to spite her?” Lola Yma pressed on with her question.
“She intruded my home and desecrated it! Leaving some marks on the trees, breaking off some of their branches and she even took something of my possession!” The kapre said in an indignant tone. It appears that the woman unknowingly offended the spirit, thus provoking it to anger.
“Mhmm. I can understand your anger about the desecration of your home. But she took your possession? You are a spirit, and no human can see any of those that you possess. How can she take them then?” Hearing the kapre’s complaints, Lola Yma was confused.
Unless a spirit offers something that they own to a human, mortals, except the likes of Lola Yma, are unable to see them, or even take them. This is because, generally the items owned by spirits all come from the Spiritual realm, thus, in a way, these items are also in ‘spirit form’. Only when a spirit decides to stop owning that item and give it to a human would it become visible to them and take them.

Hearing Lola Yma’s questions, the kapre remained silent.
“Haaays. I understand, can you please leave this woman alone for now, and two days later, we will offer some sacrifices to you as reparation for the damages done to your home? As for the item, since you do not want to talk about it, we can only ask the woman. However, we cannot do it as you are in her body.” Lola Yma knew that it is already useless to press on with her question, thus, she offered a solution to the kapre.
“Very well. In two days, you must make offerings as reparations, or else I will directly bring her soul to my domain to be my toy forever!” After a short silence, the kapre agreed with Lola Yma’s suggestion and left the woman’s body.

From Ninja to Pirate
Life can be difficult, hard and painful. Who am I kidding? Most of you probably have already experienced first-hand, all the difficulties, hardships and pains in life that I talk of, so rather than listen to me teach the lessons on how you should stay strong and look forward to the good things, I think you'd much rather prefer me to just get on with my story, and that's exactly what I'll do.My name was Uzumaki Naruto. I was a genin of the hidden village of the leaves, and the team-mate of Uchiha Sasuke and Haruno Sakura. My parents were the Fourth Hokage and the Jinchuuriki of the nine-tailed fox before me, and I was what people called, a failure. But now, the story has reversed. No more failure. No more Naruto. No more ninja.I am Akagami D. Natsuki, a girl who challenges the world, in the era of pirates! All credits go to Oda Eiichiro and Kishimoto Masashi for writing One Piece and Naruto. This is a fanfiction I wrote for my own pleasure. Please don't judge it too harshly... I have checked for spelling and grammar mistakes, but just in case there is the occasional mistake, please comment on it, rather than insult me. From personal experience, I have seen people insulting my grammar, with a comment akin to:"Cant u even spell 'mom' correctly? It's 'mom' not 'mum' you idiot!!!" So, please, don't insult me like that... It really ruins my day, which might have already been awful... Also, I apologise if they get really overpowered, or sound really arrogant... I don't mean it that way, but that's how it is read, so I'm sorry before hand. Well done for making it this far, and thank you for reading. noelicoan.
