《Rise of the Firstborn》IMPORTANT NOTICE - PLEASE READ

Hey all! It is extremely rare that I make a notice outside of author notes, but I felt this needed to be addressed.

I have received a very critical review that highlights the thematic elements of this story that are, in fact, dark and unpleasant. The review highlights the trials and tribulations our character has gone through, and while I never once thought of them as traumatizing, I will take that feedback seriously.

As such, I have included the two tags to this story: Traumatizing Content, and Gore.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, the reviewer directly referenced Cateline as a young teenage girl, and that the bathhouse scene was, and I quote, "egregious." It is also important to note that the reviewer only recommended this book to sadists before revising the review, and while I find that distasteful more than anything, I will be including a poll below to see how traumatizing you all find this story.

This implication, however vague it may be, genuinely rubbed me the wrong way. I am posting this notice to let you, the readers, know EXPLICITLY that Cateline is 18 years of age, and is the youngest character that will ever be included in any scenes that could be considered traumatic, gorey, or "explicit" (if you can consider an adult taking a bath as explicit).

I take criticism well, and I welcome it, but that review as a whole (in its original form - it has since been edited and revised after a moderator contacted the reviewer) really rubbed me the wrong way. I will not be changing this story, nor will I ask the reviewer to revise that portion of the review, but I needed to stress how seriously I take that claim.

I wanted to make sure I highlighted the good, too. I have received a lot of great feedback from readers in the form of comments and reviews. Thank you to Imperator Virtue for their nice comments on my last few chapters, as well as Nameless32 (a long time reader from my first draft and friend) and Arthur Scott (another longterm reader and friend).
