《Grandpa Sweet Fist》Part 20- Trackbot-P

“By the endless fog, that was way too fast. How do you keep completing my tasks so quickly? I must make things more difficult for you in the future.”
Victor smile at the unhappy Reunion. The system had changed his body again. After all this time, Victor decided that he would just call Reunion a man when he’s a man, and a woman when she’s a woman. Anything else was just too confusing for a simple villain like him.
This time he had transformed into a businessman who had found success in life. A distinguished gentleman with neatly combed black hair and a beardless face that was dominated by a pair soulful green eye. With drooping cheeks, he looked like he had just completed a bad deal. Victor pointedly refused to say anything about the look, and instead focused on Reunion’s question.
“I was just lucky. Your task came just as I was at an interview.”
“An interview to be a villain. Is that really a thing in this world?”
Victor was in a mind of saying no, but he couldn’t ignore the changing of the times. He saw that the system was curious, so he gave him the same spin Candice did.
“Not really. The term is really ‘freelancer’, but when you say you are a freelancer from H.A.V.E, everyone knows you are a villain.”
“Oh, maybe that’s why I didn’t pick it up during my scan earlier.” Reunion mused. “If everyone knows what it means, why not just call the occupation ‘villain’ then?”
“It sounds better. Some villains have kids. Having the kids put down their parents’ occupation as ‘freelancer’ is better than ‘villain’.”
“Sounds stupid to me,” Reunion finally said. “But it’s your world. I am just visiting. Now for your reward. Pick your shop!”

The two remaining lights appeared around Victor. Having went through this thrice before, Victor knew how this works. He had already thought about it on the way over and immediately pick the science shop.
The shop list turned into a wheel about the size of the cultivation wheel and began spinning. Victor let it spin for a short while before touching it. When it finally stopped, Reunion shook her head in disappointment.
“Sorry, but you got a lower prize.”
The wheel disappeared and the prize appeared before Victor. His eyes widened. It was a power armor. The armor was big, over two meters tall with a head that was shaped like a bullet. The armor looked thick and heavy, and there was a pair of exhaust situated on its back. Victor saw that the exhausts had caterpillar tracks on them. Instead of hands, the armor had a pair of weapons. A shiny giant axe, and a minigun. Victor was no technology expert, but he had experience and the power armor looked a little strange to Victor. Some parts of it had gears, while others had tubes and cylinders. Victor looked at Reunion and asked.
“What is this?”
“It’s called the Trackbot-P.” Reunion explained. “It comes from a world call Earth. In that dimension, the world has a long history of science and technology. What your people call power armor is called battlesuit in that dimension, and the people there has a long of inventing such armor. This power armor uses both steam and clockwork technology and has two modes. The normal walking mode, and a rolling mode when it runs on the caterpillar tracks. The battlesuit is really an updated version of an older battlesuit called the Steambot, and the inventor-”
“Wait,” Victor interrupted. “I heard of Steam technology, but what the hell is Clockwork technology?”

“It is a technology your world skipped over. Don’t worry about it. Your world didn’t miss much.”
“Okay than, but why are you calling this armor a loser? I don’t have great knowledge about power armor, but this one look good!”
Reunion just scoffed. “Not when you compare it to what that dimension has. This battle- sorry, power armor, can only be considered a mid-range model in that dimension. In this superpowered world … it might be ranked a bit higher.”
Victor couldn’t help but shake his head. His power fruit came from a world with over twenty thousand superpowers, and this power armor came from one that possessed great technology. The variety in the multiverse was just unfathomable. Victor took a better look at the Trackbot-P and it looked even more impressive. The minigun looked especially good. He remembered the young villain with the power armor at H.A.V.E. and wondered how this power armor would do against him.
“Wait a minute,” Reunion said. “There’s trouble.”
“What kind of trouble?” Victor asked.
“The family kind.” Reunion answered. “New mission; rescue your descendant! One of your descendent is in danger. Rescue your descendent and return to the spell formation for your reward.”
A portal appeared in front of Victor. Victor glanced at the portal and asked.
“Who is in danger?”
“Step through the portal and you will find out.”
Victor didn’t react to that. He was expecting some haughty reply, and Reunion didn’t disappoint. He put out some qi and opened his Storage Ring. He put the Trackbot-P into the ring and noticed that the power armor took up a lot of space. He will need to find an actual storage space soon.
“I hate portals.”
Victor murmured and step through the portal. He found himself in an alley. An alley he recognized. Victor ran out of the alley and look to the distance. He saw Velocity Tower.
“Jennifer.”
He ran to his daughter’s place and saw a small crowd in front of the diner. There were eight of them and they were dressed alike. Experience told Victor they were a gang, and his stomach sank when he saw Jennifer. It looks like she was pleading with them, but the gang was having none of it. Victor’s legs moved on their own. A fire lit in his heart. Everything turned red. Despite being in a city, Victor heard a bear roared.

The Shadow Paradigm - Book 1: Project Orb Weaver
Gardening, cooking, innovation, preservation, charity events... Madzistrale, Tom and Gabzryel does it all. But when they encounter the mysterious Shiakar Paradigm Society, a clash of paradigms ensues. Although both groups are aiming to make humanity stand stronger, their ideals and methods could not be further apart. Between the trio's optimistic yet naive ideals, and the SPS's tried-and-true surgical methods, determining the answer which methods can better humanity is a struggle that both parties must resolve in their own ways... Welcome to the 7th revision of my 10+ years ongoing novel trilogy. This revision took out some flawed plot concepts to re-introduce a more down-to-earth, film noir-like ambience, where a battle of wits is what will determine the outcome. It also added instead more in-depth expansion into the lives and mindsets of the characters, especially the heroes (a missing factor in older versions). Third-view limited storytelling was also introduced more prominently over my favoured third-view omnipotent, with each chapters concentrating as much as possible on a single character's point of view instead of head-hopping. So I shall begin uploading the chapters as I finish them; they're edited as much as I can, but there'll most likely be some typos and mistakes. As always, I welcome your comments and critiques, and I hope you enjoy reading that story as much as I did creating it! A parting poem to introduce the story (translated from its original French version): Credit: Les Mots, Mylene Farmer & Seal Firmly, the sky writhes When a mouth begets a death There, I will give my life to hear you To tell you the most tender words When all becomes all alone I'll break my life for a song And to lives that stoop to notice mine I know I will say goodbye But a fraction of this life I would give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives You could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple If one swept the world away One could touch the universe I will tell you how the sun rose high We could with a word become one And for all those words that hurts us There are those that touches us Which illuminates, touches the infinity Even if nothingness exists For a fraction on this life We will give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives We could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple

Luster
Growing up with her recently deceased mother’s addiction and her own struggles with gender identity, June Fujiwara was not a nice person. Gaining powers from nearly being murdered didn’t change that, and neither did becoming a mercenary to fund her transition. It took horrific manipulation, the resulting trauma, and the family that helped her through it all. Luster is a derivative work based on Worm by Wildbow (John C. McCrae) that begins prior to Worm and although it doesn't show straight away, the story is very AU.
