《Old Cultivation Record》Chapter 6 - A Little Contrast

Taylor's phone began to ring, and he let out a groan. I'm starting to hate this phone. He thinks with some disgruntlement.
Taylor's mom looks over, several bags in her hand. “Who's that honey?” She asks with a light curiosity. Taylor's parents had come over to Oceanview and Taylor was spending the day shopping with his mom. He rarely had the opportunity to accompany her so they set a day aside.
Taylor looked and saw that it was Raz. “Ugh.” Taylor lets out. “It's a friend. This'll just be a moment.” He says before walking a short distance away.
“Yeah?” Taylor asks, trying to keep his dissatisfaction out of his voice.
“Taylor. My buddy, my friend. You gotta help me.” Raz says, sounding a little desperate.
Taylor raises an eyebrow. “Why? What’s up?” He asks, not expecting much.
“You gotta talk to Jesse, Taylor. I can’t stop thinking about her. I’ll be drinking coffee and I’ll be thinking about her, I’ll be cooking and I’ll be thinking of her, and I’ll be taking a shit while thinking of her. She’s possessed my whole life Taylor. I can’t stand to not see her. You have to say something.” He says, driven by a little anxiety.
“Fuck.” Taylor exclaims as he lets out an exhale. He took a moment to think about Jesse and he tilts his head to consider the matter. Her image and her persona… Her beauty and her love… Yeah, I can see it. It’s enough to possess a man. He thinks with a laugh.
“Why are you laughing? Stop laughing. This is a serious matter.” Raz says, feeling slighted.
Taylor chuckles. “Relax, Raz. Actually I’m not sure why you called me. On both a personal level of desire for her and in consideration for her freedom, there’s nothing I can say nor anything that I want to say. You’re on your own, my friend.” He explains, gladly helpless with the matter.

“Taylor. My friend. My pal. With her opinion of you…” He struggles to say before giving up. The man in him wouldn’t let the words come out. “Actually you’re right. But just a head’s up. I’m enamored with this lady and I don’t think I can stop trying to win her over.” He says honestly.
Taylor chuckles. “Alright, buddy. Have a good day.” He says before ending the call.
Suddenly Taylor looks to the sky and his anxiety began to build. Somethings coming. He thought as his eyes focused to narrow down where it would arrive. His eyes spot a couple teenagers messing around on a bench and Taylor’s shoulders relaxed. Just a bunch of kids. They should take a hit once in a while. Taylor thought before a heavy suppression pressed down on his body. Okay, okay. You’re right. All life is precious yada yada. Taylor thinks as he feels the suppression lift, allowing him to sprint forward.
As Taylor rushed forward a loud crash resounded and Taylor looks up to see a meteor had broken through the roof. Taylor jumps and meets it as it plummets to the ground, where the teenagers looked up with a dazed gaze. Taylor activated the Gravity Scale technique and the weight of his body increases as he sent a kick at the large meteor, hoping to cancel out some of its momentum as he angles it to land somewhere without people.
In an instant the meteor connected with Taylor’s foot and was forced away as it crashed into an empty space.
Taylor walks over to have a look at it. He sees an eery green glow coming from the meteor. Taylor raises an eyebrow. Is that thing radioactive? He asks himself before shrugging and deciding to ignore it and walk back to his mom. I wonder if this event will birth a superhero? He thinks, his mind exploring his mild curiosities. Or maybe there’s an alien in that meteor? He thinks as he rubs his chin.

“Well done.” Taylor’s mom praises. “Do you think they’ll allow us to continue shopping?” She asks, hopeful to continue the day.
“Probably not. We could go shop somewhere else.” Taylor suggests with an amused smile.
Taylor’s mom lets out a smile and hooks her hand around Taylor’s arm. “Then lead the way, son.” She says as she hugs Taylor close.
Taylor smiles. “Then let’s go.” He says as he leads them away from the crash site. “Hey, do you think aliens exist?” He asks casually as they walk forward.
“Aliens?” Taylor’s mom asks with a raised eyebrow. “Why are you asking about aliens?” She asks, just to make light conversation.
“I’m wondering if superman is hiding in that meteor.” He says with a chuckle.
“Oh? Then why don’t you crack it open and see?” Taylor’s moms asks, enjoying the mood.
“I prefer the mystery. I don’t want to spoil the story before it gets good.” Taylor says honestly.
Taylor’s mom smiles. “You always were the little artist. But the problem with you is that your taste for art is a little darker than what most people would like.” She says with a shake of her head.
“My taste is not dark. I just… like a little contrast. That’s all.” He says, looking offended.
“Okay. Whatever you say, baby. Let’s just hope your taste for women’s clothes is passable. I’d be satisfied with that.” She says, expecting a full day ahead of them.
