《Old Cultivation Record》Chapter 55 - Considered an Asset

“First of all, I'll tell you what I told the Demon Heart family; I don't do women and I don't do children. And don't try me either; I'll be upfront right now and tell you that I won't hesitate to sabotage your shit if I think it's worth it or if I think I can get away with it.” Taylor says, not caring about the consequences.
Hanz bursts out into laughter. “I like you, Taylor. Your perspective is fresh and unhindered. It's certainly better than wading through someone's bullshit.” He says honestly, finding the interaction refreshing. “I guess I should be upfront also; my curiosity for you is willing to allow a little sabotage, but if you step over the line, there will be no hesitation from me. Understood?” Hanz says with a sharp look to Taylor’s eyes, and amusement lingering on the edge of his lips.
“Understood, boss!” Taylor says with a mocking salute.
Hanz chuckles. “I’ll get tired of it eventually, but it’s pretty funny for now.” He says, wondering how long it will take before his patience wears thin. “Anyways, back to business. I need more thralls. There’s not enough blood flowing in this place. I want you to go around and start making deals. Five years as a blood thrall can earn a person a decent amount; I’ll have someone send you a budget, then you can start making cold calls and begin tempting people to the dark side. Dismissed.” Hanz says with a wave of his hand.
Taylor’s eyes widen. Did I just get hired to be a salesman? He thinks, amused. Or maybe the job is closer to the devil selling dreams… Taylor thinks with a sigh before turning to leave.
…
…
No, Johnson. I can’t just give the go ahead for the blood thralls. Do your damn job and get the quality assurance team to sign off. If you want to ask a dumb question, ask Hanz. That way I can hire a better replacement when he kills you.

With regards,
Taylor Murphy
Taylor hits send on the email and leans back on his chair, letting out an exhale. Is this going to be my life from now on? Life just got boring as fuck. Taylor thinks as he pulls out a smoke and lights it.
The door opens and Taylor’s secretary walks in and immediately glares at him. “What did I tell you Mr. Murphy? No smoking in the office! Put it out or I’ll have to report you.” She says, warning Taylor of the consequences.
“Fuck.” Taylor says, taking one last puff before putting out the cigarette. “Can’t you lighten up, Susie? It’s just a cigarette.” Taylor says bitterly.
“We’re renting the office, Mr. Murphy. And don’t tell me to lighten up. If you do it again, I’ll consider it sexual harassment and I’ll report you to HR.” She says before placing a folder on Taylor’s desk. “The next applicant is here. I’ll send him in for the interview in 5 minutes.” She says before leaving the office and closing the door.
Taylor leans back again and sighs. This is already getting tedious… He thinks half-heartedly.
…
…
Taylor leans over to shake the man’s hand. “Hi, I’m Taylor and I’ll be interviewing you today. Please have a seat.” He says before letting go and sitting behind the desk.
The applicant also takes a seat.
“You have some experience in fast-food. That’s good. That’s exactly what we’re looking for here.” Taylor says with a smile as he looks over the man’s resume. “You understand that this job will take a lot out of you, right? It’s very draining and a lot of people are not equipped for this sort of thing. Do you have any experience as a Professional Blood Donor?” Taylor asks, his smile unable to fade.

“Ugh… I thought this job didn’t require experience?” The man says, unsure of what to say. He was young and naïve; he saw the ad and immediately applied. It said ‘no experience necessary’ and ‘$5000 a month’, so, not thinking anything of it, he applied.
Taylor continues to smile. I love the guys who apply to these jobs. They’re so… brave. He thinks, amused. “Yes, you are correct, this job doesn’t require any experience. But experience would definitely be considered an asset. Have you ever sucked dick for drugs before?” Taylor asks in a business-like manner.
“Ughh…” The man responds, unsure of what to say.
