《Old Cultivation Record》Chapter 53 - Keep On Ballin'

“We're here. You good to find your way home?” Benson asks from his seat.
Taylor looks over at Jesse and watches as she turns her head away in disinterest. Taylor smiles. “Yeah, I'm good to go home. I'll catch a taxi.” Taylor says. The further away from this bitch, the better. He thinks honestly.
Taylor moves to unbuckle little Johnny from his seat before picking him up. With little Johnny in his arms, he gives Jesse one last look.
Taylor hesitated to say something before letting the words come out naturally. “Your tits look very nice by the way.” He says with a smile before moving to the stairs.
“Pervert!” Jesse cries out a moment later, followed by Benson's unrestrained laughter.
Taylor lets out a chuckle and begins to walk down the stairs.
…
…
Sylvie wasn't home yet so Taylor had a few days to spend some quality time with his son. He indulged the kid with anything he wanted to do, and took the opportunity to spoil the kid. A lot of luxury baby food was made; the sweet but healthy stuff. A lot of games were also played. Taylor took this time to figure out a child's thought process, so while playing games he kept himself interested by testing little Johnny's reactions to little things. What happens if I take this toy away for a moment? Oh, don't like that? You can have this one; it looks much cooler, right? Oh, still don't like it? Then you can't have that either! Haha, yes, your dad has always been evil, young Skywalker! There's a bunch of toys all the way over there though. Just go over and grab them; easy , right? What? Don't want to? Alright. I guess I'll crawl over and take them myself. Oh, you want to race? You can't beat me. I'm the fastest dad around. Uh-oh, he's getting up. Sit back down, bro. You can’t walk. That's like 2-year old shit. It's not your time yet kid. Let the pros handle this; we'll take good care of your toys. Not backing down, huh? Hurry up. If you don't start walking soon I really will take all the toys. Oh? Oh? Oh! My boy's walking! What a baller!

Taylor watches as little Johnny gets the hang of it and starts laughing, clearly happy to achieve mastery over this new movement technique.
Taylor smiles and waits for Johnny to catch up. “What a baller.” Taylor says subconsciously. For some reason he was just amazed. Everyone has the opportunity to grow, but kids seem to do it naturally. Somewhere along the way though, people tend to forget how to do that. Not my kid, though. We'll make a master cultivator of you yet, kid. Just keep on ballin’, little man. Taylor thinks with a smile.
…
…
“What? Why would I want to have dinner?” Taylor asks over the phone, bewildered. “Have you finally gone senile, old man? You've never once asked me to have dinner.” Taylor says, expressing his confusion.
Johan sighs over the phone. “Do you know what dao I cultivate, Taylor?” He asks, which Taylor thought was a weird place to direct the conversation.
“No? What does it matter?” Taylor asks, even more confused.
“I cultivate the dao of gold. Basically everything I do or say becomes golden in quality. I'm kind of like King Midas, and yes, it's just as annoying as that old legend. Everything I'm involved in becomes awesome and it's kind of hard to experience my own humanity and my own flaws.” Johan tries to explain causing Taylor’s eyes to widen in shock.
What the fuck kind of problem is that? Taylor thinks to himself.
“Now that Jesse's here, I don't want her to know me like that. I’d like to show her some of my humanity, if I can, and all of idiotic things that come with it. So I need someone I can be blunt with for dinner. You'll probably have to take some abuse.” Johan says, a weird pleading tone in his voice.

“And you want me to bring my wife? Fuck that! Even if it's you Johan, I won't be willingly degraded in front of my wife!” Taylor exclaims, ready to hang up right there and then.
“Alright, alright. Don't bring your wife. But I need you to come. Do this and we can clear all the favors you owe me.” Johan says, some desperation now in his voice.
“Fuck.” Taylor exclaims, his hand clutching at his forehead. He could hear the frustration in Johan's voice and it was weirding him out. “You know I'll have to answer whenever you call anyway, right? The favors don't really make a difference.” Taylor says honestly.
“Fuck, Taylor. You're so similar to me and you don't even know. But yes, I know. On paper the debt will be cleared though. Is that good with you?” Johan asks, looking to seal the deal.
Taylor sighs. What a weird fuckin' dude. Taylor thinks. “Alright. Yes, Johan, I'll have dinner with you and Jesse.” Taylor confirms. For some reason he thought it would be a weird night.

Block Dungeon
The world of Sleyn is a little doomed planet made of blocks. Its World Core is under assault from a corrupting force known as the Ostrum, and it seems unstoppable. As a last-ditch effort, the World Core forcespawns a bunch of Dungeon Cores so they can level up and push back the Ostrum. So far, all have failed. This fic is a dungeon core set in the CoreVerse. You do not have to read any other CoreVerse book to enjoy this. It is heavily inspired by vanilla Minecraft and Terraria, with a healthy sprinkling of mod influence, too. PG-13 ish, with a sprinkling of profanity and some violence, but the descriptions are pretty tame.
