《A Beautiful Woman of Science and Other Absurdities》Chapter 81 - Finale: Female Agency

Without even trying to, Luc picked up two travel companions, Kylian and Dr. Renard, for his voyage to the secret hideout of the Order of One Justice. Both insisted on joining him on his mission to rescue Viviane and the twin girls Anaelle and Marielle. Luc was unable to deny them tagging along since one was the father of the kidnapped twins while the other had a very strong lobbyist working on his behalf. The only problem was how to sneak Dr. Renard past the guard, Agent Mathis, who had been assigned to protect Renard in these dangerous times. Luc hatched a plan.
“OK, since you two insist on coming along with me, we’ve got to sneak you out of here without the guard downstairs knowing about it. So here’s what we do.”
Luc told Dr. Renard, Kylian and Moyenne his plan. Together, all four of them approached Agent Mathis, who guarded the entrance to the building. Luc asked Dr. Renard and Kylian to stay back and hidden from view. Only Luc and Moyenne first walked up to Agent Mathis.
“Hey Luc! Did you find what you were looking for?” Agent Mathis was happy he was not in Luc’s shoes.
Luc fumbled his response at first because he forgot about the ruse he pulled over on Mathis.
“Um, oh yeah! I did! Thanks for letting me have a look around. I’ll just be going now.”
Moyenne put into motion her portion of the plan. “Yoo hoo! Agent Mathis? I’m going home now, but I’m afraid to go by myself. You know, there’s been a lot of kidnappings lately of cute and pretty girls, so I could easily be next! Could I get someone to walk me home?” Moyenne fluttered her eyelashes at Agent Mathis. Although Moyenne was plain and unassuming when compared to Viviane and she was no longer a fresh-faced teenager when compared to the twins, when she spoke like this should could convince anyone that she was pretty cute after all.

Agent Mathis bristled at the request, but it was his duty to comply with requests regarding personal safety. “Yes, Miss Signifier, there’s supposed to be two of us on duty here, but we’re shorthanded now.”
“I can take her,” offered Luc. “I’m heading out anyway.”
“No, you’d better not. You’ve been suspended.” Mathis reminded Luc of this inconvenient fact.
“OK then, I’ll watch your post until you get back with someone to replace you, how about that?” offered Luc again.
Mathis scratched his chin for a moment before replying, “I suppose that would work. Don’t let anyone in or out until I get back. I’ll only be gone a couple of minutes.”
“Sure thing.” Luc’s plan worked!
Agent Mathis ran off to find a replacement sentry. As soon as Agent Mathis was out of sight, Luc motioned to Dr. Renard and Kylian to sneak past the checkpoint.
“OK you guys, get out of here and get to the marina and I’ll meet you there at slip K-41.”
Dr. Renard and Kylian scurried past unnoticed. A few seconds later, Agent Mathis returned with his replacement.
“OK Luc, I’ll take Miss Signifier home now. You can go.”
“Sure thing, pal.”
Agent Mathis and Moyenne headed off together. Moyenne turned back to Luc and winked her eye at him. “Good luck! See you again soon!” Moyenne was being cute again and honest to goodness, it suited her just fine.
Before Moyenne took too many steps, Luc called out to her, “You can bet on it!”
About thirty minutes later, Luc, Kylian and Dr. Renard all found their way to the Aveline Super Party Yacht. Aveline and Bastian were already on board. Aveline’s yacht was moored at the end of a long dock where large boats over fifty feet could be accommodated. Since Aveline’s yacht was one hundred feet long, it required TWO spaces, or “slips” as they were called, to secure her yacht. There was no mistaking Aveline’s yacht either. Not only was it the largest ship in that section of the marina, but the paint job was a sight to behold. Across the entire hull of the ship, from stem to stern, was a graphic overlay photo of Aveline herself! The one-hundred-foot-long picture was literally of Aveline reclined in a lounging pose wrapped over the entire length of the yacht. Her signature pink and sea-green hair flowed into the shape of the ship everywhere else. On the other side, the pink and green color motif continued around and in the middle was attached a fifteen-foot-high, bright yellow water slide. Luc, Kylian and Dr. Renard just stood there on the dock with their mouths agape as they craned their necks upward to take in the full, horrific pink and green monstrosity which defied any notion of naval dignity.

Bastian and Aveline looked down from one of the decks and noticed the three men standing there either in awe, confusion, embarrassment or a combination of two or all three emotions. Bastian called out to them.
“Luc! You found us! This is the right place!”
Aveline had a huge smile on her face. She was overjoyed to be on her yacht. “Don’t you just love it? There’s nothing like the Aveline Super Party Yacht in the world! My fans think it’s the cutest!”
Bastian saw the three men standing on the dock still had not moved.
“Don’t just stand there Ooo-ing and Ahhh-ing, get on board. Don’t you have somewhere to go?”

It is a semi-realistic take on being reborn and how that might feel like. It is meant to be immersive and to help you feel what it really might mean to be reborn with powers you really don't understand. The character is somewhat of a power fantasy but not outrageously so.
