《Working at an Isekai Office While Terrible Things Happen》[ARC 3] Chapter 41 - Battle with the Demon Bear

[Ge-genius!] Both the Goblin King and Rudolf yelled in unison with blood dripping down their nose.
The Demon Bear looked confused at its added heaviness.
Riot wagged his finger clicking his tongue in a rhythm. [It is not just that! I can also use my ability to control the gravity of the bosoms!]
The breasts floated, jiggling as if gravity no longer existed. The two ghosts howled like monkeys. Clapping and yelping, desiring even more improvements on the Bear-Priestess.
While all this was happening, Dalton snuck around them and to the catatonic Light Show. Dalton swore that the ability was one of the dumbest he had ever seen, reminding him of the Upgrade card that Riot had used on his Mecha-Woman.
Yet, it worked, as a distraction. Like bees to a honey pot filled with poison.
The Bear-Priestess spotted Dalton. Luckily, he could not speak in any language, only talking in grunts, as he pointed to Dalton. The ghosts were admiring the bouncing breasts.
Rudolf bit his fingers as his crotch was glowing a dangerous red. The Goblin King was licking his lips as if he were about to chomp on a great turkey leg.
The connection between ghosts and their user was symbiotic. So, if Dalton smacked the hell out of Light Show, the damage would also be transferred to the Rudolf who was thrusting his pelvis in the empty air, the beams blasting the ceiling.
[My red nose is glowing again!] Rudolf declared.
Dalton found a metal pipe in some of the wreckage. He rose it high above his head.
Riot gasped. [Friends! My master is about to beat the living shit out of your master!]
“You bastard! We’re supposed to kill them!” Dalton yelled.
Riot gasped, smacking his hand like a gavel, remembering what they were supposed to be doing.
Both ghosts turned on him like a demon spurned.
[Crotch beam!] Rudolf thrusted.
But the beam did not reach him. A piece of the ceiling fell and intercepted the blast, exploding into little pieces. Dalton acted quickly, hitting Light Show at the back of his bare neck. He gasped, and his eyes curled up into his skull.
Rudolf reacted, holding his neck, and he fell forward, disappearing.
The Goblin King snarled. [You bastard! How dare you kill Rudolf! Demon Bear!]
The Bear-Priestess crouched in a pose, holding his hand as mana swirled into the palm of her hand. Dalton felt a prickle of fear, remembering the Priestess Punch the Goblin King threw out him before his demise.
Then Riot snapped his fingers. [Not so fast.]
The Bear fell to the ground, her breasts grew another size.
The Goblin King gave his full throttled approval, applauding with an even messier nose bleeding. [Beautiful!]
[Not only does my ability allow me to control the gravity of the woman’s bosom, but it allows me to also launch an attack that no other has survived?]
Easy for him to say when he has never used the attack before, telling Dalton that he would hide his ace in the hole until it was needed.

[Behold the power!]
He flicked his fingers, and the Bear-Priestess rose. Adding a dramatic flair, he flicked his fingers away. The Bear-Priestess’s nipples glowed like a dying sun. Dalton took a horrified step back.
“A-are you kidding me?”
[What is this?] The Goblin King demanded, turning to Dalton and Riot. [What are you doing to those perfect nipples?]
[Nipple Beam!]
The beam blasted like a milky cannon through the Goblin King. Like a burning paper, the Goblin King burned into pieces, the bits of confetti lighting up the room as he writhed and screamed in great pain.
And that was the end of the Goblin King.
The Demon Bear turned back with a puff of pink smoke.
[What a foolish mistake you’ve made Dalton.] Riot shook his head.
Dalton gave him a hard look. “Mistake? You’re the one that killed him. Plus, we won.”
[Uh, yeah, we slew the goblin ghost, however, we face a Demon Bear rather than a well bosomed maiden.]
And that was enough for Dalton to have all color drain from his face. The pink cloud faded, and the Demon Bear towered over them like a shadow of death. With a raised claw, it came down like a reaper’s scythe, mowing through the walls like wet paper.
Dalton threw himself to the ground, feeling the woosh of the blow pass over him. Bits of ceiling rained down, followed by a torrent of desks and office supplies that created a blockage between the Demon Bear and Dalton.
Riot floated above him with his arms crossed. [We should run.]
He agreed, but he needed to say it. “You’re the worst!”

Jack Kramer, the iron fisted Director of the Bureau, was getting minute by minute updates on what was happening in his building.
Dalton was fighting with the Demon Bear, a very good distraction while his Transportation Wet Team go in and assassinate Ozul, but also a way to pressure Maya. The witch would never allow her precious pet to be obliterated. He hoped to get her support without hiring her.
“Director.” Nikolai saluted to him, he wore a new golden arm, after the last one got stolen.
“If you’re here, then it means two things. Either there is a hole in Ozul’s forehead, or you’re about to tell me that he is still alive, and the task forces that you trained were inadequate.”
The silence was enough for Jack to know the answer.
“Tell me what happened.”
“He…well…” Nikolai moved his hands one way to another. “They were eaten.”
“Eaten?” Jack rose a brow.
“Their souls were ripped from their bodies and he ate them,” Nikolai explained in a very quiet voice.
“So, a team of assassins got their souls eaten by a small fry agent.” Jack repeated. “I’m just making sure that’s what I’m hearing. That I threw piles of money to you, so you could hire the best assassins for our own strike team, whose souls have now been ingested by an agent.”

Nikolai looked down. “I’m sorry boss.”
“Sorry, does not cut it.” Jack raked his hair and thought on what needs to be done. He snapped his fingers. “Alright, here’s what we do. Send agents in the building, but not to attack Ozul, but to hunt Dalton.”
“Dalton!” His nose flared and his hands curled into fists. “He’s in there?”
He sensed animosity. It could be used.
“Find him and shoot to kill. We have a contract with a Star Witch. If he is killed, she will step in.”
Nikolai was taken aback. “What did he do to piss of a Star Witch?”
“Why would I risk myself to ask a question to a Star Witch?” Jack said. “Just do what I say. Go in the building and find and kill Dalton. Do it, and she will lend her aid to us!”
#
Maya sat on a metal scaffold, on top of the adjacent building to where Dalton was currently at. She watched as Jack ordered to have Dalton hunted.
He would regret that.
She swore that she would not interfere with Dalton’s mission.
Maya shifted her position, and rested her head on her hand. Her smile brightened as she spotted Dalton running away from a very angry, and sexually confused Demon Bear.
It reminded her of those times long ago. Whereas a witch, she saw a man confront against all odds and somehow succeed.
Her heart sung in the language of love.
#
Dalton peered behind a cubicle, seeing the shadow of the Demon Bear stalk the room, looking for him. Riot’s head poked out of the ground.
[What’s the plan?]
He craned his neck, watching the Demon Bear closely. His grip on the steel pipe tightened. It was a laughable weapon. He might as well try to kill it with a popsicle stick.
But even a popsicle stick could stab an eye out.
And with this steel pipe in his hands, it was better than just falling over and letting the Demon Bear eat him.
[A Demon Bear’s claw is filled with mana. It can tear through your ring and tie like paper.] Riot reminded him.
Dalton rolled his eyes, he did not to be reminded. “Why don’t you go ahead and make its breasts big again. That sure worked.”
[It was!] Riot said. [She was immobile, and her breasts jiggled like the waves of a thousand claps.]
Riot quieted down when he met with Dalton’s hardened stare or at least he thought.
“Are you done?”
A warm and smelly miasma hit Dalton on the back.
[The bear is behind you.]
The Demon Bear bore a fangy smile. The only thing that saved Dalton, was the ice barrier ring Maya had given him. Its claws smacked Dalton hard, he bounced off the walls and hit the ground hard. The ice shell surrounding him broke like an eggshell.
The Demon Bear’s steps shook the entire floor as it drew closer to Dalton. It matched the beats of his heart.
It was a mistake to come here.
Thud.
He wanted to live.
Thud.
His attempts to push himself up was futile.
Thud.
It was a miracle that he even held onto the steel pipe.
Thud.
Still, despite the pain that coursed through his body, Dalton stood up, using the steel pipe as a makeshift crutch.
Riot floated next to him, his arms crossed and as he scanned him.
[Why do you stand, Dalton? What hope do you have against the Beast of a Thousand Strength?]
If he wasn’t already so hurt, and he was not linked to Riot, he would have thought he was hallucinating. But pain had a very special way of telling you that you were unfortunately still alive.
“Because dying wouldn’t be my first choice,” Dalton coughed out.
Riot still wasn’t satisfied. His lips turned in an arc. [If you wanted to not die, you could have just ran away. I’m asking you what drives you? Why fight the Demon Bear?]
“Why don’t you tell me? You’re connected to me!” Dalton managed to say under his shaking breath.
Riot threw up his head, laughing. [Very well. I have decided to be of service to you.]
Dalton blinked. “We’re you not?”
[Did you think my ability was just making a woman’s bosom more perfect?] Riot asked.
“Was it not?”
[No!] Riot seemed offended by that. [My ability is strong. I shall show it to you! My ability that shall bring down this Demonic Beast!] He threw out his hands, readying himself.
The thuds finally stopped, the Demon Bear’s lips trembled, bits of saliva dribbled on the ground as its golden eyes bore down on the two hapless fools that faced it.
Dalton leaned against his steel pipe.
Well, if he was going to die, he might as well see what Riot’s amazing ability was.
The ghost’s grin was like a mad man. He stretched out his hand as if he were catching a key that had slipped from his grip.
Light enveloped the scene.
#
Jack’s glass shattered on the asphalt when Nikolai reported that his team had found the Demon Bear dead on the third floor.
#
“If you had that ability, why did you not use it in the very beginning?” Dalton yelled at the ghost.
Riot wagged his finger in front of Dalton’s face. [The Ultimate Skill is always used at the very end. It’s more dramatic!]
Dalton snorted. “Screw that! Use that in the very beginning to kill everyone!”
