《I'm a brick! But why am I a Humanoid? [A Non-Level LitRPG with a Humanoid MC full of Magic, Drama and Comedic Undertone]》Chapter 34- Where dead Empires are reborn.

“Perhaps it would be best if we left the telling of Arlford history to the Patriarch? There must be a reason they have chosen to not tell Alforien about it.” Valuris said, stopping the Prince before he starts monologuing about it. It would seem that the Prince had been struck by a bad case of jealousy. Well whatever, I didn't care about whether a prince from a small Nation was angry at me.
“Your excellency, perhaps you could tell us about your experience at school. I fear a lot of us are home schooled at the moment, but I do hope to join Mavos Academy at the end of the year.” Novel said, clearly the boy had been trained in diplomacy or at least had some skills related to it. That was an effective icebreaker for the group.
“Speak for yourself Novel, I for one am quite proud to be attending school for two years now. The Empire has one of the best education systems on Algrea. And unlike you Ministry folks we are satisfied with what we have.” Lady Murgovitch said.
“The Ministry has a sufficient education system, we merely do not suppress the dissident voices,”Novel replied.
“Oh please, everyone knows that the rumours are false. Perhaps even spread by the Ministry.” Lady Murgovitch replied.
Just like that, the bunch of little brats started arguing about which of their countries was the best. The only ones not participating were Valuris and me.
“They’ll be at it for a while, the whole lot of them have strong opinions about each other and their countries. Not that they know anything except what their parents tell them. But that is true for all children is it not?” Valuris said.
“Well, I can make no allusions to knowing the nature of children. I have not had enough interaction with them.” I replied
“Not knowing the nature of children? I was under the impression that your school had a number of them.” Valuris said
“While that is true, I fear that still does not really give me a clear picture of the majority. Besides, it is hardly as if their personalities follow a discernable pattern. They each have their own unique traits and quirks.” I replied. I really had gotten better with the noble speech thing hun?
Valuris seemed quite surprised by my answer, raising an eyebrow she replied,” Why that is a delightful manner of looking at things. It is quite refreshing to have a colleague that has actual opinions about things.”

“I would hope so, but what do you mean by colleague?” I asked
“Will you not be attending the Malrusian Administration Camp?” Valuris replied with a question of her own
“ What camp? I asked
“It is a Camp run by the AWC in honour of Malruise Manuron, the author of the International Constitutional Law system.” Valuris replied, she had completely lost me.
“What system?” I asked
“The ICL governs the way the many Nations implement their laws internationally, after all it would make no sense if a person committed a crime in a Nation and then escaped to another nation and was thus free” Valuris explained patiently.
“It wouldn’t I suppose…” I replied, not mentioning that back in my old world even seeking sanctuary in the house next over could sometimes give sanctuary if the person was important enough and one had something valuable to give.
“How do you find life in the Farewell Lands? I fear I know little about them.” I said, trying to change the topic
Valuris merely smiled and said,” The Farewell Lands are, to a large part like any other nation. What really differentiates them from other nations is merely that they are not open to all. Only a select few may enter and most that do almost never return.”
“What do you mean, almost never return?” I said, perhaps a bit rudely.
“The Farewell Lands have an extremely high Mana Concentration, it makes all magic and to some part stat gain easier in them, there is a downside to that however, and that is that it is extremely hard to return to the lower Mana Concentration of Algrea at large. Only those at Grade 7 and above may do it. Even then, it will be extremely uncomfortable for them to remain there for any length of time.” Vsluris replied
“If only Grade 7 and above may exit, then how are you here? Are you secretly a Grade 7? And if the Farewell Lands are so beneficial then why do you not have a larger lead over the other factions?” I asked
“Because I have yet to enter them, your excellency, I fear it shall be a long time before we meet again unless either of us manages to reach Grade 7 in a few years. And the thing to question isn’t why the Farewell Lands do not have a greater lead, you should instead be wondering why the Arlford family has so many. There is a reason you are called the family of freaks after all.” Valuris replied

As soon as Valuris finished speaking, a large light emerged from the centre of the hall.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Naming Ceremony of the latest progeny of the Arlford family. Reaching the Primal Grade a mere seven months from birth, this young Banmeru has broken the record previously set by the Emperor Incarnate, Meroun. Better known as the First transmigrator. Finally we may call an end to all mentions of that Emperor in our records! We have now officially surpassed the First Age!” A voice, emerging from one of the figures in the centre of the hall said
Due to the distance I could not say which one. But I did notice a flurry of lights emerge from the outer part of the hall as the illusion broke, giving way to a red-haired woman dressed in a blood red dress and adorned with blood red jewelry including a blood red tiara. Clearly the woman did not get the meaning of ‘too much red’
The entrance did, as one would assume, cause a commotion, bringing forth several exclamations though notably no magic was cast. It would appear that people were more concerned about the presence of the woman than any threat she posed.
“What”- the woman said, looking at her- “I received an invitation too you know?” she said
“Didn’t expect me to attend my own son’s Naming Ceremony? Shame on you.” she continued. Wait. the Naming Ceremony of her son? Wasn’t it my Naming Ceremony? Did that mean that this woman was my mother? The same one that abandoned me? What was she doing here? Did she think I wanted to have anything to do with her? No, Father had told me on my seventh birthday that my mother was an adept social climber. Clearly she was here to use the many dignitaries gathered to extract some advantage.
“The invite was a courtesy, Morinda, you are not welcome and you know it. Now get out before I have you thrown out.” my Father said
“Oh, you sweet sweet man, I see you realised that I have reached the fifth Grade, you are no longer my match, and by the laws of the dead Empire, I have custody now.” my mother said
“No. Custody lies with the more powerful party, yes, but unless you recruited a few dozen Grade 9s while we weren’t looking,we are still the more powerful party, Morinda. The separation law that I know you are going to quote next also does not apply here as your husband lost primary custody months ago. I have it now. And thus you don’t” Meemauy interjected, putting an end to my mothers ideas.
“Maybe I don’t have custody, but neither do you. Remember the law you used to dethrone the Emperor? The one where you used the fact that your husband was stronger than him?“My Mother said
“Well you see, I was looking through the laws a few days ago and realised...that the criteria wasn’t just power. Potential could be counted too. And since your husband never claimed the throne...my son inherits it. The Empire shall soon be dead no more but reborn in Launeior.” My Mother finished
