《I'm a brick! But why am I a Humanoid? [A Non-Level LitRPG with a Humanoid MC full of Magic, Drama and Comedic Undertone]》Chapter 17-Where we learn that the secret to fast paperwork

I was excited today. It is not everyday that one gets to go to school for the first time in their life . Especially when going to school involved less work than not going to school. But oh well, at least the last few days hadn’t been as hectic. At least here anyway. Launeior was apparently a different story according to the System, it kept bombarding me with notifications.
Attention!
The Faction Auremoga has perished within Launeior.
876 factions remain
Yes, there were apparently over 800 factions because the bigger factions insisted on keeping each group of initiates from each separate location as a Faction. It had its advantages, for one any one Faction falling wouldn’t have a domino effect across the entire Faction. The higher ups could avail the advantages gained from a high level Faction while having plenty of underlings. Inter Faction communication allowed the easy takeover of other factions since each group could technically claim their own land instead of having the Faction Leaders approve each little war and conquest, the Algrean system was after all one that advocated for peace, not constant warfare.
None of the main factions had fallen yet, though apparently 5 of the 13 big ones were getting close with Faction Auren, with the fall of Faction Auremoga down to only 3 sub factions including the main one which now only had the Faction Vice-Leader and 2 Elders who were Grade 5.
But that held little importance for me, war was something that was inevitable, if Faction Auren fell, another would rise to replace it. Factions rise, Factions fall, Nations rise, Nations fall what does it matter? What matters is that I managed to sneak Waffle mix out of the estate. I’ll tell you that tale some other time though, now it is time for me to go to school.
My legs would not stop shaking in excitement. I was finally going to eat waffles again. I am pretty sure I was addicted to waffles, I could not stop thinking about them, fantasising about eating them, oh the taste!
I looked ahead to see the city approaching below, since the city was in Arlford lands and Meemauy wanted to ensure my complete isolation from any kind of teleportation spells for as long as she could, we were travelling using a flying coach. As the name suggests it was a coach that flew, nothing more special than that,

What was special was the fact that apparently the city was built using something Manacent, and didn’t have a single brick in it. Can you imagine? A city without bricks. It was either a complete disaster or a marvel of untold proportions. I personally was leaning towards the former.
As we neared the city, which had yet to even be named beyond City#15039 under Housing Project #903 by Baron Underlight. A mouthful I know, apparently it was only a few months old and was already lacking in basic funds and employment since the Baron that funded the project had now deemed it complete, leaving the hundreds of thousands of inhabitants that had been moved over here from their original homes in the older cities without any form of gainful employment. Apparently my presence here as a Count also made me responsible for the administration of the city but Meemauy had arranged for an administrator from Aslien, the capital of the Earldom to arrive to handle the responsibilities.
I for one was not particularly impressed by the conservative architecture of the city. There was a distinct lack of arches, gardens, landscaped landmarks or any areas of architectural significance. The entire city seemed to be merely one building after another in a rectangular formation. Only their heights prevented them from looking the same. The dirty-white colouration of the buildings was particularly jarring.
Finally we arrived at the school or at least the open area nearest to it because it apparently did not have a proper yard.
It was a five second journey to the school because Meemauy decided that some [Haste] was in order. Soon enough we (Or at least Meemauy) were standing before the school’s headmaster.
A bespectacled man, he looked young for a headmaster. But if Meemauy was any indication the Banmeru aged extremely well. Covered by drabby clothes as it was, I noticed that he had a lanky but clearly powerful physique. A sign of high levels perhaps? Proper training would leave things in a better proportion. Levels and Stats Potions would create this sort of illogical physique that seemed to have high endurance/ accuracy but clearly made no claim whatsoever to any semblance of a decent Strength or Speed stat.
I somewhat doubted that this was a good strategy for anyone. Equal distribution of stats like mine naturally were, was the best way after all.
The formalities were completed quickly since Meemauy kept ‘humph’-ing whenever any step took longer than 15 seconds. The privilege of the overpowered I suppose. Fast paperwork. How did I know that paperwork was slow anyway? Oh, right. That Emperor in the Third Dynasty kept complaining about it all his life, I swear that's why he was killed by his son, his son must have grown tired of him complaining.

After the boring part was over it was time for the interesting stuff. Waffles! And apparently studying! But reading things was fun too I guess?
Bunker, Launeior
Trevor was confused. This new world of his seemed to have one contradiction after another built onto it. First he was reborn as a baby, Ok a new chance at life was welcome after his last one. But then he got the damn title and everything changed. Confused by what transmigration meant he’d asked his new parents who had immediately begun crying. Apparently learning that your youngest was something of a calamity was traumatic. Who knew?
After that they’d moved to this bunker that he’d found wandering in the woods one day. Making sure to make their leaving be unsuspicious and completely natural. They had lived in the bunker after that, using food grown from the plentiful greenhouse that was situated in the bunker. It was always a pleasant thing when you gotta eat the food that you grow. The parents though did not agree with me on that. They did not resent him quite yet, but he feared that in time they would grow to resent his presence in their life. At least his Matter Magic had provided them with a large amount of gold and supplies. The advantages of doing a PHD at IISc Bangalore, he now knew way too much about how atoms interact with each other. At least that didn’t change in this new weird world.
The appearance of the mage(magess?) had put a dent in all of his plans however. It was hard to plan for the future when even the next moment could have a powerful mage whose home you were occupying wake up calling for a rain of fire or something. At least the fact that she had a baby probably ensured that there would be no rain of fire happening.Though she could just fireball them instead.Food for thought.
There had been some discussion among his parents about killing her but in the end they had decided that killing an innocent person that had yet to actually harm them in any manner, just because she could one day harm them was ethically wrong.
Thus he’d ended up having to care for the lady while the rest of the family that had no protection against her magic kept a safe distance.
When he went to change her head cloth that kept her temperature down, he could hear murmuring sounds from her, a clear sign that her mind was becoming more active. It was likely that she would awaken in a matter of days if what the Internet or rather his memory of what the Internet had told him all those years ago was to be believed.

Dust and Glory
A century after World War III left the planet a nuclear wasteland, earth is nearly unrecognizable. Alien ‘Benefactors’ have taken control of North America’s most populous cities and built indomitable walls around them, defending their inhabitants but trapping them under a totalitarian rule. Outside these citadels, chaos reigns, led by the mutants of the wasteland; cultists, raiders, and canibal clans. Glory, a rogue android, is roaming the wastes after escaping her sadistic “father”. Alone and reeling from the effects of a previously sheltered life, her only ray of hope is Reza City, built upon the ruins of what used to be Phoenix, Arizona. True, the Benefactors have a strict ban on self-aware artificial intelligence in place, but that should only prove an issue if they realize she’s an AI. The real problem is what lurks outside the city: over a million square miles of harsh, unyielding desert. And slinking between the dunes and the fissures are the mutants, looking for an easy victim.
