Maybe home is not always the safest place to be

Meanwhile in the village Twig had called home yesterday

There was no shortage of people with something to say

But at the centre of the drama was a single knight

Delilah, I’m the goddess of the sword, I’m no priestess

I’ll have no words for you if you just make this a mess

Pull yourself together or you’ll only make things worse

There may still be answers out there for your offspring’s curse

“How could you just let him go, you useless piece of trash?!

Let me go or I’ll reduce this entire place to ash!”

Delilah swung her sword at Log out in the village square

Many looked in horror but she didn’t seem to care

~ Name: Log ~

Sorry man, you’re on your own with this one, do your best

Seems like your wife has something to get off of her chest

Do what you have done at least a thousand times before

Save the village from chaos, go home, and close the door

“Delilah, you know just as well as I, we can’t just go

We have to trust the System has the answers we don’t know

If you draw attention from the System to our town

You might not need to wait long before it all burns down”

“Let it burn!” Delilah shouted as she swung her blade

Destroying a large fountain that the town artist had made

“How can you be called a father, look at what we’ve done!

Out of fear for some strange god we threw away our son”

She swung her sword again but this time it was dull and slow

Log then caught her swordhand using half his strength or so

He took her sword and threw it down then tried to calm her down

But that was not enough to quell the panic in the town

After twig had left the morning of the day before

She’d been crying desperately at home upon the floor

She cried herself to sleep but when she woke up the next day

Something snapped in her and the whole town had hell to pay

She screamed and cursed at everyone and everything thing she saw

Cursing every god she new and every System law

Luckily, the System wasn’t easy to offend

But she was content to scream at every neighbour and friend

Sky’s mother and father, Hawk and Oak were standing near

Watching sadly as their friend gave in to rage and fear

Log just held her tightly and looked over at the pair

Alarmed by the demeanor of the couple standing there

“What is it you want with us, we’re in no mood for talk

Leave us to our business here, go on and take a walk”

Delilah screamed and wept into her husband’s sturdy chest

Cursing everyone who said that it was for the best

Hawk stepped forward with a piece of paper in her hand

“When your wife recovers, give her this, she’ll understand

We’re going ahead, but you’ll be called in time as well”

He took the letter and they left with no more news to tell

At least a dozen people nearby heard what they had said

And wondered why they hadn’t just announced it there instead

And while gossip of the System circulated still

Few claimed to have knowledge of the might System’s will

“Could it be that he was cursed by something evil here?”

“Maybe it was something he did wrong some time last year”

“Could it be, the System saw Twig committing some crime?”

“I did see him roaming in the forest all the time”

Log had done his best to keep his wife restrained but failed

Luckily she had no sword, or they’d have been impaled

Instead the villagers whose levels certainly weren’t low

All regretted testing how far Twig’s mother would go

Achievement: Swordless Swordsmanship

Not that I approve of what you’re doing here right now

But the way you’re fighting is still impressive somehow

Just don’t kill your neighbours, they could never understand

No one here can no what fate the System may have planned

The sun was high before Delilah's rage began to wane

But half the village was already in a lot of pain

The gossip ceased as the town healer healed their injuries

Relieved to see Delilah had made no more enemies

She walked back down the road, the last place she had seen her son

Seeing him away as his adventure had begun

Fearing that he may already have been killed or worse

She swore in her heart she would one day avenge her son’s curse
