Sky, you’ve lost control as I was hoping you would not

Your class changed much too fast so this will likely hurt a lot

Your blessings now will be provided by another god

Just be careful not to get hurt, please rely on Todd

The scene of Twig upon the ground his body torn to shreds

Caused a surge of strong feelings in everybody’s heads

But Sky was so consumed by rage she started to transform

Her class became more suited to surviving in the swarm

Todd was having trouble dealing with them one by one

Leaf was fast enough to dodge them and help everyone

Pebble learned from Todd the way to deal with moving foes

But Sky’s demeanour cooled to the point that the forest froze

She flew from one bug to the other swatting them away

Never stopping to to heal her own wounds along the way

Todd was shocked to see how strong the bug monsters all were

He’d never seen their kind so strong on any adventure

Leaf had trouble killing them but since he was so quick

He was only stung once, though the venom made him sick

Pebble was unlucky since with his role as a tank

He survived by stats alone, his guardian to thank

~ Name: Pebble ~

I’m sorry I can’t help you more lad, this is all you get

You aren’t strong enough to handle any more stats yet

Try not to get stung to many more times while you fight

If this gets any worse it may be best that you take flight

Todd was also struggling to save everyone at once

Especially young pebble, who he thought might be a dunce

Always standing in the way of any foe he sees

Even when the pain he felt should bring him to his knees

“These blasted creatures have been buffed by some cruel deity

This whole situation doesn’t fit reality

What could that young boy have done to earn so cruel a fate

Looking at him now I fear we’re already too late”

After two chaotic hours of fighting endlessly

Sky was able to go tend to young Twig finally

He looked like he’d been stabbed around a hundred times or more

It was hard to even recognize him anymore

It seemed he’d held his hands up to repel the monsters’ sting

His left arm took the brunt of it, his hand was now missing

Sky used her appraisal skill to see what she could do

But when she saw his status it seemed too weird to be true

But that was not the strangest thing happening before her

The lifeless body of her friend slowly began to stir

His wounds all stopped their bleeding just enough that he’d survive

And somehow, though still injured, he was just barely alive

His left eye had been destroyed by one unfriendly sting

But even with his one good eye he couldn’t see a thing

Swollen shut he only heard the voice of his friend Sky

But when he tried to call back a strange screen was his reply

Achievement: Untethered

We did our best, but know that your old guardian is there

And he’s already displayed strange new powers, so beware

All that we could give you was an ancient status screen

The system stops us buffing it, but it can go unseen

He mumbled in a voice that sounded like a dying groan

A voice he had a hard time believing was still his own

“Why are all the screens red and who are you anyway”

And even though the gods heard him, they had little to say

Achievement: Losing Connection

It’s as we feared, your old guardian won’t give up control

But at least he shouldn’t able to curse your soul

There’s no time to explain, but we changed how your status works

It’s automated, though outdated, and it has its quirks

Twig could feel the strange new presence fade from his tired mind

Whatever force had spoken to him had left him behind

Too tired to think of ancient gods and systems anymore

He fell into unconsciousness again upon the floor
