Achievements weren’t the only thing that everyone could see
Saying ‘status’ would reveal your status screen quickly
There you’d see your title, class, and status all quantified
And a divine message meant to fill you up with pride
The message and the stats all changed as your achievements grew
Sometimes there could even be a few gods watching you
Gods and goddesses would pick a child to watch over
Like a guardian angel or some divine helper
Twig’s own father once received advice from gods of fire
That let him cast a hundred balls of flame and never tire
His mother had the blessing of the goddess of the sword
And all his sisters had gods by which they were all adored
Twig had yet to learn the identity of his watcher
It was strange but he assumed they’d be revealed later
He asked his friends one day to share the statuses they’d earned
And twig was more than just slightly surprised by what he learned

And his divine advice was was definitely the worst thing
