Woosh!
Simon fearlessly hopped into the dark corridor which lay within the midst of the blood jungle.
When a ruin was integrated, the middle of the ruin was integrated first, while the outer edges would be integrated later. As a result, the center of the cavern and tunnel leading downwards was still there.
He was not particularly worried about the various wild beasts on the island. Spawned creatures would generally not leave their biomes, after all. So long as no defenceless residents of his island wandered into the biome, they would be completely fine.
On the other hand, the two remaining beasts that were underground were a different story… After all, if the militia was sent down into the cave system, the results would be disastrous. And though he could still warn the militia to prevent such a scenario, he needed to kill the other two bosses eventually; he may as well do so now.
Soon enough, after traversing the cave system for a fair period of time Simon reached a familiar corridor that split into three paths.
This time around, the trip to the “boss rooms” took merely a few minutes, as he was both familiar with the route, and no longer needed to tread carefully.
‘Sure enough, their auras still remain strong’ Simon thought with a nod.
Upon absorbing the ruin to his island, the other two bosses had not gone anywhere, just as he expected; their auras were still emanating out, which could strike fear into the hearts of many.
He quickly went down the middle path - the path that now had the strongest aura.
....
When he finally entered the cavern, it once again lit up to reveal a wolf several meters tall, who had just awoken from its slumber...
But this time, he was prepared!
Woosh!
He then unhesitatingly launched himself towards the doge, wreathed in a mighty aura!
-----
When Simon finally left the cave system, he brought with him a little wolf with golden fur, barely the size of one’s head.
This wolf had large eyes and cute features, and was currently staring innocently at him.
Simon sighed, looking at this pitiful little pup in his arms helplessly.
“Little guy, although I killed your parents, you really can’t blame me... They tried to convert your parents into fiends!”
The doge turned its head a notch, clearly confused.
Simon shook his head ruefully at this scene.
Whilst in the cave, killing the Corrupted Celestial Sky Wolf in the middle path went by smoothly. However, the weakest wolf in the left path was actually pregnant! Other mages may not have noticed it, but he, who was highly attuned with nature, could certainly tell.

Since the baby wolf was untainted and ready to be born, he naturally slayed the wolf’s mother and quickly removed the baby wolf from his mother’s corpse. Doing so was no issue; as he had a high attunement with nature, beasts and animals would instinctively feel a sense of familiarity with him, and thus, it did not resist too much.
It has to be known that mythical beasts, such as the exalted Celestial Sky Wolf were not like humans. From the instant that they were born, they possessed a frightening amount of intelligence - roughly equivalent to that of a 6 year old human. As they grew older, their level of intelligence would actually near that of an adult human.
In his previous world, Celestial Sky Wolves existed as well, and were oftentimes the personal beasts of important figures! In fact, even he, a farming genius that was also a 6 star core mage, did not even have enough status to own one; from this, one could see that they truly were valuable and rare!
The reason why he had killed the other wolves was obvious; the residents of the Eternal Fiend Tribe tried converting the Doges into fiends, who were manifestations of violence and evil.
Unfortunately, they had likely failed in controlling them, which could be seen by the amount of dead bodies strewn about in the cave system...
The most likely scenario was that the wolves managed to retain a limited control of their bodies. In that time, they probably executed their revenge, wiping out the entire Eternal Fiend Tribe! Then, they forcefully went into hibernation, as to not allow their fiendish side to wreak havoc.
The adults Celestial Sky Wolves were far beyond saving, and death was a form of release for them. But this good boy on the other hand… Was completely fine to keep!
They were primarily kept and highly valued for three main reasons.
One was status. Owning a Celestial Sky Wolf represented that one’s influence was incredible, and the wolves themselves were a sign of nobility and strength!
Another was luck. Owning a Celestial Sky Wolf actually improved the overall luck of their owner. Naturally, a force such as luck was extremely mysterious and unfathomable. A being that could manipulate said force to one’s advantage was absolutely priceless!
The last was intelligence. The wolves were known to be highly intelligent, and were capable assistants and companions, no less competent than a human.

Soon, he walked out of the jungle, stepping in front of a small crowd.
Almost everyone who was awake was awaiting Simon. After all, as the island owner, and as the person who unhesitatingly went inside, he definitely knew what this all was about.
“Sir, what is this?”
“How did this happen?”
“What's inside this jungle?”
Almost everyone was confused. But there were also more knowledgeable residents, who still were in shock and disbelief.
“I-I-Is that from a.. ruin deed?”
“Could this be…?”
Simon laughed. “Of course! I cleared the ruin with an A tier completion grade, and thus, received a ruin deed. You guys don’t have enough faith in your island owner!”
“What?!”
“Are you serious, mayor?!”
“What's a ruin deed? It's the cause of this?!”
Those who knew of ruin deeds were shocked, and those who didn’t were confused.
But soon enough, those who didn’t know of ruin deeds were told, and in turn, incomparably flabbergasted and excited.
“Mayor is too OP!”
“Hahaha, too formidable, too formidable!”
Simon chuckled as he walked past the residents to the castle. “Don’t worry about this island expansion for now! I'll arrange for its resources to be harvested by dawn. You guys continue what you were doing.”
It was quite a bit before the crowd dispersed. But before departing, everyone was certainly informed of what obtaining a ruin deed meant, and the news quickly spread!
By dawn, when people arose from their slumbers, it was common knowledge.
…
Meanwhile, Jake, Joe, Jack, and Simon were discussing this very matter in a room in his new castle.
The castle was truly impressive. With nearly 50 rooms, it now included two dining halls, a set of residences, a massive chamber meant for storage, and many other areas of great importance.
Not to mention, atop the walls were now rows of crossbows and cannons that Simon had previously obtained. Still, since this was merely for the castle’s defence, it only contained roughly a third of his armaments. The rest were distributed to his militia and the fleet of airships that were currently being built.
“Hahaha Mayor, I knew you were formidable but... this formidable? The rest of us can’t catch up! And you even tamed a Celestial Sky Wolf? This island will definitely be prominent, even in the likes of this vast world!” Jack exclaimed boisterously, clearly in a great mood.
“Hah, it was thanks to everyone’s efforts that this was possible. As the island owner, how could I possibly slack off?” Simon chuckled. But then his expression grew serious.
“Alright, let’s get down to business! Allow me to explain how I plan to utilize this ruin.”
Everyone suddenly assented and quieted down.
Simon nodded and continued, “I’ll start off with diagnosing our strategy. The most valuable resources of this ruin seem to be the ores. Still, I haven’t done a thorough investigation on this front so it is hard to be sure.”
“Other resources include wild beasts, blood trees, and various types of rare plants and fungi. Overall, there are a multitude of resources but they are by no means easy to harvest!”
Everyone nodded at these words. Indeed, more valuable resources and resources of greater varieties value tended to be more difficult to harvest.
Take for example, the delicacy of venomous pufferfish.
By itself, a venomous pufferfish was not all worth that much. But after being prepared and detoxified, its value would skyrocket.
This was because of the difficulty of the devenoming process. One had to train for years before gaining the qualifications to properly de-venom a pufferfish, to sell commercially.
As a result of this difficulty, the price was, naturally, rather high!
In turn, many resources that Simon had discovered on the ruin were hard to harvest or rare, whilst others were of course, common and easy to obtain. Nonetheless, with such a wide variety of respawnable resources, gathering them all efficiently would not be a simple task.
It has to be known that this “Blood Jungle” biome was several tiers above the biome of the rest of Simon’s island. As a result, the complexity and variety of resources were far greater.
Simon continued discussing with his crew, and the matter was soon resolved.
They eventually decided to have a permanent group of militia stationed throughout the jungle. The militia would serve to protect the miners and gatherers, whilst also gaining combat experience from slaying wild beasts.
In this meeting, they also organized a series of expeditions into the ruin for research purposes.
The operation was finally beginning!

The Legend of Ghost
This is a quick novella origin story to one of fan-favorite characters in the ZERO universe, Sam Dobbs, a.k.a. Slade Gardner, a.k.a. the Ghost. I wrote it for current ZERO series fans, after many insistent, fervent, teary-eyed demands. Still, I think it pretty much works as a stand-alone, so I'll post it here. (He gets the name Ghost later, not as part of this story...this is just the why he decided to do what he did, being slightly insane and all.) Lots of easter eggs for current fans. 15k words total, chapters will be approx. 2.5k each. Oh, and if you get turned off by crazy, hyperintelligent antisocials being crazy, hyperintelligent antisocials, this isn't the story for you. ;)

Legacy of Blood
Ao Ruang lives in a village isolated from the outside world. Due to a tragic fate he finds himself far away from his home on the brink of death. Only to be entrusted with the legacy of a near extinct race.A Legacy he must embrace.A Legacy that fills humanity with suspicion and hate.A Legacy written in blood. Hello Author here!I hope you all are enjoying my take on a cultivation story. I wanted to take elements I enjoy from cultivation novels while avoiding some of the tropes and insane power creep. I want to keep things as grounded as possible. The story is a bit quick paced in the start, but you will find that it slows down to a decent pace later on. The romance is going to be a slow burn and I want to keep it a bit of a surprise. While our protagonist Ao Ruang is the main man of the story their were will be times other characters will get some love also.Lastly, there will be occasional goals from latest chapter if those goals are reached I will release a bonus side chapter that focuses on other characters we have met before and I'm considering having polls to decide who the side chapter will be on.Please consider supporting me in anyway you can. For now I'm just looking for people to review, suggest to others, and interact.Respectfully,Joseon Walking
