《Tales of Demons and Dragons - An Original Xianxia GameLit》Chapter 17 - A True Master

Jacob had just finished passing the Cultivation Technique to Juliet when he felt an ominous presence.
Shit.
He ducked behind the table, avoiding a rock that smashed the window, and landed where his head would have been.
A figure covered in blood and with a manic smile on his face entered the unlocked door.
“You are the little shit who suggested to scour the woods, uh?”
Jacob dusted his clothes and got up. He stood calmly in front of the murderer and rapist with a confused expression on his face.
“You are the janitor of my high school,” Jacob murmured.
“Yeah, and you are both dead. I had to kill half of the people who came after me. I am the true master of this new world. Everything and everyone belongs to me. God bestowed these fantastic powers on me because he wants me to be the Adam of—”
Jacob fished out the bread knife from his hoodie and threw it with all the strength he had toward his enemy’s leg. If he had thrown it toward his face, the janitor could have dodged it. Instead, the blade hit his mark.
“Juliet, you are stronger than him. Come and just punch this fucking idiot. He raped and killed Vanessa”, Jacob shouted while advancing on him.
The Janitor, Manuel, did not know what was happening. He had expected to rack another sweet kill with the short kid and to score more carnal pleasure with the hot girl by his side.
However, a knife was now planted firmly in his thigh, and he shouted in pain.
He’s at the 2nd level of the Cockroach realm, Jacob thought.
If the guy had been at the 3rd, the dull knife would have barely penetrated his skin at that speed.
He felt Juliet’s body move faster than his own through their bonds. She jumped over the table and landed a spectacular flying kid on the man's raised arms.

“What the fu—”
Jacob kicked him in the nuts and then gathered the little Qi he had.
2-Revolutions Palm
He slammed his palm on the guy’s sternum, almost caving it in. The recoil slightly damaged Jacob as well, but he did not care for that. He had slain countless monsters, humans, and Demonic Beasts.
The janitor spewed blood from his mountain after Jacob injected Qi in his blow.
“Kick his legs,” Jacob shouted.
He and Juliet moved in synch as if they had always fought together. They could feel each other intentions and next moves; this, in turn, allowed them to combo their actions.
Juliet started kicking the man’s shins in a childish but effective way. Her strength was higher than his. Also, when an amateur faced someone attacking him, it would be way harder to counterattack.
“DAMN KIDS! I’LL KILL YOU!” the janitor screamed so hard that Juliet hesitated.
Fuck.
Jacob jumped in front of her and tried something that should have never been done without enough Qi.
Water Dragon Martial Technique – Flow
Jacob took the blow the guy had tried to land on Juliet and redirected it toward the ceiling, putting him entirely out of balance.
“Kids? I’ll show you what a true master looks like, you bastard!”
The janitor tried to back up, but Jacob was not finished with the Martial Technique. As soon as he was moving backward, Jacob smoothly grabbed his foot and had him fall on his back.
Now, an inexperienced fighter would have stopped there.
Jacob made sure to put an end to this fight.
Forbidden Technique 64, Forced Flow
He concentrated the flow of Qi in his left leg as he raised it and stomped on the man’s throat. He felt the windpipe crumble, and the murderer widened his eyes.

Jacob stepped back, making sure that the damage he had just got in his leg wouldn’t last too long. Thankfully, he still had some of the Three-Colored Stalk in his flesh and bones.
The murderer made some gurgling sounds for more than a minute while he choked to death.
Juliet was staring at the man, clearly uncomfortable but not even close to what you would expect from a kid. And, unlike Francis, she had not hesitated to strike the janitor.
“When people ask,” Jacob said while jumping one leg and holding the other, “we will tell them that this was all you. Just say that you got massively powerful. Then, if they want to see, break a couple of bones if you are ok with it. Otherwise, punch a concrete wall or something; you should be able to crack it a bit or shake it hard.”
He knew he was insensitive, but they needed a straight story right away. Juliet was strong, but she was not trained. She had only raw strength and none of his experience.
“I know it’s a lot, but…” Juliet stepped toward him while the last gurgling sounds sealed the fate of the murderer.
“It’s fine, Jacob. I trust you.”
She bent her head toward him and smiled.
He felt her trust in their bond and sighed.
“Let’s go call the adults. People are going to freak out. We are telling them that he attacked without saying anything else. There should be witnesses from what the janitor said. The people who chased him in the woods should have seen him, which would make their story rock-solid.
“Joe! For Peter’s sake, where are you?!” Jacob shouted.
He felt running steps, and his aunt and Joseph appeared one right after the other. Of course, the walls were thick, so they might not have heard all the commotion. But they had to have heard something at least.
“Jackie! Oh my god! What happened?!” her aunt screamed, panicking after seeing the blood that the murderer had dripped all over.
Joseph looked at the corpse and doubled up, vomiting.
“Pussies”, Juliet murmured.
Jacob glared at her new Ancestral Bond and shook his head.
“We need to go talk to the people. I hope you got some cultivation going, auntie. But, Joe, do not trip in your vomit. You can come if you want. Or you can stay with the guy” Jacob jerked his thumb toward the dead janitor. His head was throbbing, and he did not care for Joe’s behavior at the moment.
Everyone but Joseph left a few moments after. Our poor guy took a few seconds to collect himself and then immediately scampered out, screaming.
“Wait for me. Please, wait!”

Essairyn is an abnormal human with elemental powers, and Akari is being chased by those of her dark past. Together, they set out on an adventure in a world of magic, danger, mystery, and intrigue. But this not a game. That simple adventure is actually the modest beginnings in a chain of disruptions that tear even the dimensional fabric of time and space. No one, not even Essairyn, was who she thought she was. And not even the gods can change the destiny of the universes... A single promise shook eternity’s existence. — Fantasy || Adventure || Romance || Action || Mystery || Drama || Science Fiction — The My World To Live (MWTL) series, the alternative short name is Canaan, is comprised of three books symbolically named My World, To Live, and My World To Live. Two years prior, the entire story had been planned and detailed out from start to finish before actual writing. Thus, the story will never be dropped. While the genre is largely Fantasy, the book is comprised of many other elements including a School Life (Magic Academy) story portion. MWTL has a lot of scattered symbolism and allusions, hence, the mystery aspect. The science fiction elements progressively become more pronounced, and the slow romance is a late bloomer. The female lead is strong and independent, and her backstory and identity unravel as drivers of the plot. Expect lots of action/fighting throughout and scattered philosophical and psychological themes arising. It's a human journey to find the essence of one's living and purpose. What kind of world do I wish to live for? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I hope to share the journey with you~! Canaan's Original and New Covers: If you're curious about my art and the various covers I made for this series and other authors, I have a RR thread that makes free covers and shows art processes. [October 1, 2020 Notice: Hello, I aplogize to all followers for suddenly taking an extended hiatus. Life threw a lot at my face and then the pandemic happened, so I hadn't been able to write until around the last month when I decided to challenge myself and finish the first book in this series. I am ok now, and thank you for your patience and understanding. No words can express how much every reader means to me. RR was the first writing platform that I ever felt accomplished to any small degree, so I am forever grateful to it. Multiples changes have been made since this final revision and writing of the ending, so please see the latest chapter detailing the update. This also includes my decision to submit this story to the 2020 Wattys contest (the deadline was Sept 30th). That means I will not be posting the updated version of this story on here until the contest is over (since I doubt I'll win anyway lol). And so, if you want to read the full, now completed (woohoo!) story, please go to my Wattpad. Thank you once again, and wishing you all the very best health and happiness! FINAL UPDATE, March 7, 2021: The complete story has been re-posted after the Wattys. This version that was on Wattys is the one being re-posted. However, the Final Version (which will be on a separate book from this to remain organized, and is technically the fifth version of the story xD) will be released May 2021. For more information, please read this update linked here. Thank you to all readers for taking this two year journey with me!
