Hello everyone! I'm back once again, and this time, to announce that I'm getting a discord server and a patreon!

Patreon Section :

Now, first, let's go over the patreon. I have been toying with the idea for a while, but didn't want to put it into effect until I had enough of a backlog to justify charging people to read it, nor that I had enough side content. However, after some debate with the Keepers (see discord section), I have decided that I now have enough chapters in the backlog to justify launching a patreon. And in case you're wondering, the backlog went from half a chapter to 4 in a week. And part of a chapter, but for obvious reasons I'm not posting it until it's completed. However due to a ton of exams, and projects coming due I'm probably not going to be able to do much more than maintain it. I know that's exactly what I said last chapter, and I ended up with the largest backlog I ever had, but I mean it. Probably. I won't make any guarantees.

Note that, to avoid having people double charged because it is the end of the month, the patreon will be launched Saturday (tomorrow) at around noon CET (so 11 a.m. UTC), at which point I will set the donate link on the story page, and update this notice. The reason I have chosen this time is because Patreon charges everyone for the new month at midnight, Pacific Time, which means that I left a 3 hour safety margin just in case, and to round up the numbers. All of the rewards currently available have already been posted on the patreon page, so you won't have to wait for me to post everything after the page is launched.

EDIT : Unfortunately Patreon is currently reviewing my page, which means that I have no control on when it will actually be available. That appears to be due to me signaling it for possible NSFW content in the future. I am completely unsure of when they'll get around to approving my page for launch or if they even will. Since they don't run anything during the weekend, my page will be approved by monday, at best. There is no current NSFW content on the page, I just put the tag on it because there could be in the future. And I cannot withdraw the tag and try launching it again until it has been reviewed, so unless I want to create a whole new account and redo everything, the page launch just won't happen until monday at the earliest. My apologies everyone.

Here are the patreon tiers :

Librarian.

Lore : Librarians are those whose job it is to properly document and store new texts and knowledge in the Great Archives. While this task might seem fastidious to some, it is not only vital that knowledge is recorded and preserved, but also that it is accessible. It would be useless otherwise. Most librarians are also accomplished enchanters, due to the many procedures required to set a book into stasis, or open the vaults of knowledge within the Great Archives.

Price : 3 USD

Benefits :

-Access to up to 3 advanced chapters of The Fallen World : A Dungeon's Story.

-Discord role, including special channels to discuss patreon exclusive content of your tier.

Preserver.

Lore : Preservers are the face and arm of the Great Archives. They scour the world for ancient historical texts, artifacts, and anything that might contain knowledge that could be useful to future generations. This has brought them into conflict more than once with the Knights Preservers, but both sides have now established relatively smooth protocols for knowledge and artefact sharing. Emphasis on relatively. Some Preservers are skilled archeologists, other historians, some are even archmages, alchemists or artificers. However, the one thing they all have in common is that they are accomplished adventurers, in spirit if not necessarily in guild rank.

Price : 5 USD

Benefits :

-Everything from the previous tiers.

-Access to every advanced chapter of The Fallen World : A Dungeon's Story.

-Access to various side projects.

-Access to certain exclusive side stories and lore entries.

-Early access to some bonus chapters and side stories.

-Vote for which character I should commission art of (No NSFW)! Note that I will still run other commissions in parallel, which will not be up to vote.

Archivist.

Lore : Archivists are some of the highest ranking members of the Great Archives. Masters of knowledge, they pore over forgotten tomes from the Age of the Gods, and debate history so ancient that most think it completely forgotten. They are the guardians of the forbidden vaults, where ancient tomes of powers too dark to ever be let out rest. Archivists know more about Alcheryos than anyone else, save perhaps for the Order or the Custodians of the Flame. While Archivists are indubitably scholars, most of them were also unparalleled combatants in their time, and some even transcended their mortal bodies and became archons. They are the immortal guardians of the Great Archives, and it's heart and soul, all of them fully dedicated to it's great dream of universal knowledge.

-Access to side projects, even experimental ones.

-Access to experimental and/or exclusive side stories/bonus chapters.

-Access to experimental and/or exclusive lore entries. May include death rays mounted on sharks.

-Vote for which side stories/bonus chapters I should write (the vote is indicative, I get the final say, ESPECIALLY on NSFW)!

-Access to old files and anecdotes about my stories, including some weird design decisions and rejected plot points.

So, concretely, as we stand right now, what do the different tiers give you access to? Note that this list is as of Friday, the 30th of April 2021, and I will not update it.

Currently, the Librarian tier will have access to :

-Chapter 22 through 24.

-Once chapter 22 is released, I will also set chapter 25 to be readable for Librarians.

-A sweet discord role, as well as a dedicated channel to discuss patreon content of their tier.

Preservers will have access to :

-Chapter 22 through 25, as well as any chapters I complete in advance.

-1 Exclusive lore entry on potions (an old, pre-prologue design file, so some stuff might have changed, but still, it is more or less up to date).

-1 Early access lore entry on adventurer ranks and materials.

-1 Side Project (a Warhammer 40k fanfic's prologue).

-A sweet discord role, as well as a dedicated channel to discuss patreon content of their tier.

Archivists will have access to :

-Everything the preservers have access to.

-3 Experimental lore entries (X6 missile; Earth - ship classes; Alcheryos - Fleets orders of battle).

-And more projects that I dig up from my files as I remember they even exist in the first place, and won't burn people's eyes by their mere presence.

Now, a few notes on the patreon :

I hope this is completely superfluous, but posting any of my content currently on my patreon will be considered theft, and appropriate action will be taken. Do not discuss patreon content outside of patreon or the appropriate discord channels for that content's tier, if only to avoid spoilers for other people.

Yes, all the tiers have some lore for them, and their discord channels also have lore friendly names. No, that does not mean that you will appear in the story because you picked a patreon tier. If I decide to integrate someone in my story, I'll contact them directly and ask for permission.

The votes for the art and side story will be held in two parts :

One part will take place on discord, where people will submit proposals in the appropriate discord channel. I will then take the 3 most upvoted proposals (or less if there are less than 3) and create a poll on patreon, where the actual vote will take place.

The death ray mounted on shark thing is a joke, it's not actually a real lore entry. I might make one, someday, just for kicks, but right now it's not a thing.

Keep in mind that Patreon's formatting options are primitive at best, hence the spells will not be marked like they usually are, nor will thoughts be in italics. I hate it, but nothing transfers over, unlike here on RR.

Discord Section :

I have created a discord for this story, and globally for the stuff I write. Which for now is mostly stuff relating to this story.

First, and I cannot stress this enough, READ.THE.RULES. "I haven't read/seen the rules!" Will not be accepted as an excuse for any infractions committed.

Next, if you have any suggestions about discord channels, ect, leave a comment here. It'll be easier than trying to sort through it on discord itself for now (ah, the irony).

Lastly, a little explanation for the Keeper role : The Keepers are readers who I run experimental stuff by and that I trust. They do not have access to patreon content (well, not current patreon content), or any specific privileges, they're just helping me set up stuff and serving as a sounding board for some of my ludicrous ideas. They are neither admins or moderators, so if you have a problem, do not poke them.
