《Los》1.8

Since she had disabled her alarm clock, Eve managed to get a solid day of sleep done. If it wasn’t for the barking noises that woke her up, she likely would have managed to sleep even longer. As she woke up and did her daily ritual of shower, shave, and dress for success she paused every so often. The knowledge that her brother was a big shot while important, really didn’t help her much right now.
He did his best. Eve thought. It isn’t like he could be with me every second of every day. I wouldn’t handle being treated with kid gloves well. He knew it, and he did the best he could. I wouldn’t have believed him if he had tried to tell me either, to be honest.
As her mind slowly settled, her emotions became calmer. The basic situation hadn’t changed. The knowledge from the Transport to Another World he’d written wasn’t useless. In fact, the reason she got so many alteration points from those books suddenly made massive sense.
It was a bribe. Holy shit a bribe. If my brother ever manages to find me, or I manage to return, the System wants it known I was helped. Eve thought before deciding to let the matter of having a brother that scared a System that altered reality drop.
“Wilson, even if my brother never finds me, or I never get back to my Earth, you did a great deal of good in my books by helping me, thank you.” Eve said as she exited her bedroom.
The feelings of the User have been noted!!!
Smiling, she started the normal routine of cooking breakfast, dumping the waste into the composter, and checking on the health of her garden. Eve was no longer the scared young woman in another world who would rush to find whatever made the noise that woke her up. If it was dangerous, it would be dealt with. However, if nothing approached her house, then she really didn’t have any interest in something outside of her own projects.
And project numero uno is now figuring out how to move my house around, because there is no way I’m traveling without this baby. Eve thought looking at the sky above her garden walls. I have zero interest in finding out that technology here hasn’t discovered air conditioning, central heating, or water heaters. Much less electric lighting, freezers, fridges, or stovetops.
A vague plan coalesced in her mind of a flying house using her Domain of Celestial Paper I. What gave her pause was the fact that Dragons were real. If such a titan of fantasy lived on this planet, then it would be unlikely that phoenixes, rocs, and all other manner of aerial nightmares didn’t exist also. In that case, flying could be a death sentence, the deciding factor was mana density. Perhaps, chicken legs instead?

It all comes back to killing. Eve thought. What I really need is a hot male elf, who happens to have two scimitars on his hips, and is lethal in all manner of fights to drop by give me the layout of the land. Skin color wouldn’t even matter because I can change mine to match anything anyway.
At the thought of her chameleon abilities, another idea rose up. Eve mused as her Celestial Mind worked over the concept until it was fleshed out fully.
Hunting naked.
If she let go of her inhibitions on clothing from Earth, she could be a lethal ambush hunter, scout, and pathfinder all in one. Eve would even be able to map the mana density around her by seeing the mana thicken or thin. It had all the hallmarks of a batshit crazy plan, and she decided to go with it.
Granted, a large part of her choosing this path was the fact that unless she felt quite empowered. From what Eve understood of this world, for the area of mana density she was in, it would be difficult for something to kill her.
Although there is always poison. Or drowning. Or shooting my brain through my eyes. Yeah, I’m still killable, at least in theory. Eve thought. For now, and I really have no urge to test it.
Looking at her Stats she bit her lip for a long moment before deciding to round up her Str, Dex, and Con. For completion’s sake she also bumped up her Wisdom and Intelligence.
When she saw how close her Wisdom and Intelligence were to one hundred, Eve waffled for a moment before pulling the trigger.
User has reached a milestone of 100 in Intelligence.
User has reached a milestone of 100 in Wisdom.
The System is impressed considering the User still has not opened their Starter Pack.
I’m being called an idiot aren’t I? Eve thought, as she said, “Could you please open the Starter Pack for me, Wilson?”
Starter Pack opened! The following is available for use:
Mana Map
Increase in Inventory of Five Slots
Beginner’s Guide to Stat milestones
Eve covered her face with her palm in embarrassment.
“Oops.”
The new Mana Map appeared to connect to any piece of paper she controlled drawing a detailed image of what she had already traveled over if desired. She could zoom out or in with equal ease, even better it contained small mini-markers for notable things. The ferret nest that she had cleared was labeled in a single easy mark. Everything that she could see, made it on the Map. Granted it was just a whole lot of forest right now and not much else.
That can be solved easily though. Eve thought before calling a sheet of paper from within the house and hardening it in her mana. Looking up at the sky above, she took a deep breath, and then pushed with her will. The piece of paper shot into the sky like a missile launched from a hot weapons platform.

Domain of Paper I had an interesting effect in that it retained much of the utility of the Spells that created it. It wasn’t so much a loss, as a more effective method of use. Which mean that while she didn’t have the Spell of Locate Lost Paper, she could still get the same result.
Reaching out to the paper high above before it left the sphere of influence, Eve’s sight was transferred to the new viewpoint in a single smooth twist. From the new height she could see her house as a larger speck in a miniature clearing. The clearing was part of a massive forest that enveloped the surrounding territory. At the very limit of the southern tip of her sight, she could see the trees decrease in number. Spinning her sight around Eve let her memory take shots from every possible angle. The paper she held in her hands filled with rivers, a lake, large hills, and other natural features. There wasn’t a sign of civilization anywhere to be found.
A rough calculation put the thinning of the trees at approximately twenty kilometers away to the south. Before the paper exited her control, Eve shredded it into tiny pieces barely larger than dust. With the wind at that height, the diffusion would ensure her mana signature was obliterated easily.
Looking at No. 5 in her hands that was substituting for a map, Eve’s eyes glistened. Finally she had intelligence on the world around her, no longer was she in a dark place without information on her surroundings. As she stared at her new most favorite piece of paper several important details sprang out. First was the lake to the east, which was fed by several rivers from the north. Along the rivers and by the lake appeared to be nests similar in nature to the ferrets she had removed.
Should I strike first or? Eve thought. It was one thing to attack an enemy that was completely antagonistic. Am I any different than the ferrets if I simply seek and destroy without investigating?
For a long moment Eve stared at the map not seeing it, instead seeing a sergeant from her past. When she came back from the memory her eyes hardened into silver orbs of ice.
“It’s me or them Sarge, just like you said back then. I can’t take the risk. God forgive me.” Eve said quietly.
Stepping back into her house, Eve stripped before standing with her back to the open garden door. Using a mirror silver piece of paper she practiced adjusting her skin, hair, and eyes until they mimicked the background. Celestial Mind figured out what she was aiming for and suddenly her body was shifting with ludicrous ease. She suspected Celestial Body was also providing a helping hand to make the camouflage seamless. There was a slight distortion when she moved fast, although as long as she moved slowly it was smooth.
Moving on from using chameleon effects, Eve practiced pulling her mana back until the density she emitted matched the surroundings. Her mind and body seemed confused for several minutes until Celestial Mind and Body picked up on her intent. Staring at her arm, Celestial’s Five Senses couldn’t detect anything there unless she actually felt the limb. Over two hours had passed while she mastered the Art of the greatest Female Ninja Warlock of all time.
Totally making that my super unrealistic moniker when I get back to Earth. Eve thought, smiling. With a quick effort of will, her Samurai Six folded into small packages that tied themselves into the inner part of her hair. Weapons check. Map check. Stealth check.
Before she rushed off to hunt, Eve checked the book she had received on Stats. It was more of a slightly dense pamphlet, with an easy to read setup. The first page immediately explained why the System still thought it was dealing with a slightly stupid human. Reading the text allowed her to understand how badly the lack of knowledge about Stats could have been.
Statistic milestones occur exponentially at 100, 200, 400, and so forth. They are the foremost reason that people are unable to escape the Class they choose as they provide regeneration bonuses to their primary resource pool. Str and Dex will provide stamina regeneration. Con will provide health regeneration. Wis and Int will provide mana regeneration. The bonus is always 2x the previous amount, and like all such regeneration bonuses is multiplicative instead of additive.
"Does stamina matter if I don't use it in combat, Wilson?" Eve asked, curious. She had never felt a lack of stamina so far, and wondered if the stat even mattered for her.
Unless the User is using Stamina burning skills, her current Physical Stats are far in excess of what would be needed to run for several days straight.
“Ah, thank you for the assist Wilson. Now, it is time to hunt.” Eve said before she leaped up to the top of her garden wall. A quick almost ritual check of her Status and she dropped off the wall heading for the tree line to hunt her first nest.
