《My Passive Skills are Invincible!》Chapter 249: Beginning Of War

Timus was slightly moved by Mike's words.
War?
This word was quite a stranger to Timus.
Everyone knew of this vocabulary and its definition. It was not a strange word. However, Timus had never come into contact with this word up-close.
Fighting and war were two different things.
War was a battle between countries. Once it started, blood would flow like a river!
It was such a terrifying scene to imagine…
"Just imagining it makes people's blood boil!!!"
"What?" Mike was slightly stunned when he heard this. He had never thought that Timus would have such a strong feeling about war.
At this moment, Timus clenched his fists in excitement, his eyes filled with fighting spirit. Since it was a war between countries, as a human, he naturally wanted to participate in the war.
On the side of the elves, even ordinary fishermen had joined the army. What reason did he have to not participate?
"Teacher, let's go to the territory of the human race. Let's also participate in the war!" Timus raised his fist and said to Mike with a high fighting spirit.
However, Mike's reaction was completely unexpected to Timus.
"No."
"Huh?" Timus was slightly stunned. The enthusiasm in his heart seemed to have been extinguished by a basin of cold water.
"Why?!"
"No means no!"
Mike's attitude was very firm. He did not hesitate at all. Join the war? What a joke! His current conditions were already so weak. Joining the war would just be sending him back to his death!
After all, the battlefield was known as the meat grinder of life!
Even a few lives would not be enough to send him there.
Moreover…
Mike looked at his empty waist.
The Sword of the King had also been snatched away by the Elves!

Mike, who had lost his weapon and strength, was no different from an ordinary person. Furthermore. he might even be weaker than an ordinary person.
He absolutely could not participate in the battle!
Mike immediately came to this conclusion in his heart.
Timus pursed his lips in slight dissatisfaction. "Then, if we don't participate in the battle, where should we go now?"
"..."
Mike opened his mouth and froze on the spot. He was right, where should they go now?
He raised his head to look at the sky and suddenly felt a myriad of emotions. It had been so long since he came to this parallel world, and so many things had happened.
The law had been snatched back by the God of Death, Arthas.
The Sword of the King had been snatched away by the elves.
Even his own strength had been restricted by this bud on his chest.
The present Mike could be said to have nothing, except for this somewhat rash disciple beside him.
Were this disciple to betray him...
When Mike thought of this, his shoulders could not help but tremble slightly. If Timus had really abandoned him, then what awaited him would be death!
When he thought of that potential pathway, Mike slowly turned his head and quietly observed Timus'expression.
Timus' face was obviously filled with dissatisfaction. Obviously, he really wanted to participate in the war.
Timus also noticed Mike's gaze, but he had no idea what went through Mike's thought processes.
He subconsciously wanted to try harder, "Teacher, even the elven fishermen have been dragged to prepare for the war. As a member of the human race, is it really appropriate for us not to participate in the war?"
Mike frowned slightly and did not speak. Or rather, he did not dare to speak. If he really angered this young man, who knew if he would really abandon him.

No, it was as though he saw the worst in human nature…
Now was the best time for Timus to kill him and take away the Umbrella of Meredith!
As Mike thought about it, beads of cold sweat appeared on his forehead.
He turned to look at Timus and suddenly changed the topic. He nodded and said, "Timus, you're right. It's my fault."
"What?"
Timus looked at Mike who had changed his mind and could not react at all. This sudden change in the decision was too quick!
After a moment, Timus seemed to have understood something and suddenly laughed out loud.
Mike looked at Timus and could not help but feel nervous.
Could it be that this kid had figured it out?
Could it be that he realized that he could kill me now?!
Timus could not stop laughing. These few seconds were as long as a year for Mike.
Finally, Timus stopped laughing. He raised his hand to wipe away the tears from the corner of his eyes. He patted Mike's shoulder with his other hand and said, "I know, I finally know.
"Teacher, you didn't dare to participate in the war because your body had become weak, right?"
Mike shuddered further with nervousness as he heard the words that left Timus's mouth.
Sure enough, this kid was observant!
It's over!
Mike's face only looked a little nervous, but his heartbeat was beating rapidly now. He was terrified.
However, to his surprise, Timus had a reliable aura around him.
"Teacher, don't worry. Before you recover your strength, I will do my best to protect you!"
After saying that, he gave a thumbs up and showed a confident smile.
Mike was slightly moved when he saw this scene. Only then did he realize that he had thought too badly of Timus.
An emotion that could only be named guilt emerged uncontrollably in Mike's heart. He had actually thought so badly of his own disciple. It was really too inappropriate!
Pondering, he seemingly lowered his head and spoke, "Thank you, Timus."
"What for?" Timus reached out and put his arm around Mike's shoulder. He smiled and said, "Don't forget, you are my teacher. I still want to learn your abilities and become the strongest human in fact!"
After Timus' straightforward words, Mike's mood slightly improved.
"Alright, since that's the case, let's hurry up and head to the City of Light."
"Okay!!!"
"Speaking of which, I bet you thought you looked handsome just now, didn't you?"
"Well..."
…
The City of Light.
The Royal Palace.
King Harold looked at the secret letter in his hand with a solemn expression. None of the servants and ministers around him dared to speak.
It had been a long, long time since they had seen such a grave expression on their Majesty, the King's face.
Although no one knew what had happened, anyone could tell that something big was about to happen! Finally, King Harold put down the secret letter in his hand and slowly swept his eyes over everyone present.
"According to the news I just received, the Elven Princess Veronica is deceased..."
The King spoke with a solemn expression. When he said this, everyone had surprised expressions.
"What?"
"What happened?"
"I've never heard of Veronica's illness. How did she suddenly die?"
This question went through everyone's mind. Everyone looked at King Harold in hopes that the king would tell them the specific information.
When he faced everyone's gazes, Halos' fists were almost crushed.
"Veronica was assassinated! And the murderer…
"It was a human!"
At this moment, the entire palace became pin-drop silent.

Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
