《The Legendary Ghost Hunter 》Auxiliary Chapter II: Angelicas
Advertisement
Angelicas are special powers bestowed upon chosen humans after the First Expungement. They are a paracausal force capable of interacting and damaging Ghosts — they are humanity's weapons.
(WARNING: Mild spoilers below)
*****
Angelicas revealed in the story so far (chronological order):
Stormbringer - Power to conjure storms, thunder, lightning, and rain. It is one of the Four Elemental Angelicas, able to control electricity and arc energy. The Four Elemental Angelicas are all commonly found, with Stormbringer being the most common.
Oculus - Power of eyes, from seeing through walls to detecting hostiles on a radar within the user's mind. There are four main branches of this Angelica: Eye of Omnipotence (seeing through walls, invisible entities and clues, etc.), Eye of Twilight (enhances eyesight range, clarity, focus, etc.), Eye of Paracausa (detecting other Angelicas), and the lost Eye of Epitaph (???).
Blacksmith - Power to enchant normal weapons with paracausal energy, allowing them to injure Ghosts. Wielders of this Angelica also usually have higher physical strength than the norm, due to spending a lot of time performing tedious, laborious tasks with heavy tools and machinery.
Daredevil - Power of pushing human physical limits, mainly in speed and agility but not strength. Wielders of this Angelica are usually... well, daredevils.
Starsinger - Power of the stars. Highly destructive and difficult to control. Despite being a rare Angelica already, only a select few of its wielders are able to use this power properly and even fewer are able to use it to its maximum potential. Requires innate talent and lots, lots of practice. Also, highly RNG-based.
Shapeshifter - Exactly what the name suggests, users of this Angelica can morph themselves into any object they can see and feel. More skilled users can morph without there having to be the object right in front of them. Shapeshifters can shift into other living beings like animals, people, and even Ghosts, but will only gain their appearance, not their powers due to the extreme complexity of the process. Finn, for example, cannot gain eyesight by morphing into someone else because he himself does not possess the ability to see.

Nero Zero
Monsters plagued the lands for too long. No matter if one had fangs, beak, teeth, skin, fur, or feather, or was tall, stout, or diminutive, the people suffered. Until the Gadgeteers came with a device that could allow people to fight back. Powered by one's own magical power, feeding off of monster Essence, the Arbitrium bracer turned the tables. It also changed society. Strength of one's level cap was all that mattered. The strongest were Kings and Emperors. The weak or those too poor to afford the marvelous device, destitute. And so it has been for millennia. All that mattered was one's level cap. High, low, a fate decided the moment the strange contraption came alive. Too high and you were a threat to those interested in keeping the status quo, a weed to be nipped before it could grow and take root. Too low and you were nobody, fated to be a bit more than a simple farmer. What if someone, somewhere, came up with a zero for their level cap? Unable to use Essence, unable to level up. On all of recorded history, it never happened. Until it did. In a small village of fur-less and tail-less ape-beastkin, a boy found out he was uniquely handicapped. Nero's level cap was Zero. But he'd never let that stop him from reaching his goals. ------------------------------------------------ All stories have already been told. We merely reuse elements from them. From Joseph Campbell's Monomith to Stephen King's advice, and that encyclopedia of tropes you've visited, fiction has been dissected and reassembled countless times. One will surely find elements inspired on other works here. Just like cooking from basic ingredients, the recipe and presentation is what really matter. This is a fantasy adventure, of someone that goes from a zero to a slightly bigger zero. It will have romance but no harem. Cruelty but with hope dimly shining ahead. Lightweight where it can be, heavy where it must. Thanks for reading. Cover Credits (The cover is CC-BY-NC-SA): Steampunk Spider Bracer, by Daniel Proulx. Metagame
Some people get a second chance, late in life, and jump on it. Other people are on their third before they turn twenty. One was given everything they wanted, and threw it away on principle. One never believed themselves worthy. One is crushed by the past, afraid of what might repeat itself. And the last never had a goal to begin with. But while nobody cared and no one was watching, they each decided to carry on in their own ways, even when that made things worse- and they did, usually, get worse. Arrows Through Reality, often called Arrows or ATR, is the world's first full-immersion Virtual Reality game, a MOBA by Granduon incorporated that didn't blow its competition out of the water, but did provide a new entry point that had millions trying their new game. Two years later, the player base has only grown, and everybody knows the most effective tactics... but while a cutting-edge AI supposedly runs the game's balance, it hasn't patched anything a single time. Well, the most effective way to do anything is subjective, right?

Pokeballs have rules, and everybody, human and pokemon alike, know them; Pokeballs come in many types and colours.
