"I shouldn't have drawn this circle."
The old man complained while squinting his eyes at Zhao Luo.
The old man yawned and from his almost closed eyes a drop of tear rolled down his face.
"Attack me already."
The old man urged Zhao Luo who had just taken out Ifrit and was looking more than excited as he moved towards his master.
"Master don't be surprised."
Zhao Luo warned the old man while feeling impatient to go all out as he rushed towards him.
'I don't care even if his fingers get chopped.'
Zhao Luo went all out as he stopped right in front of the old man, and lowered his body as he pushed one of his legs backward and bent the knee of the other leg, while also raising both of his swords simultaneously.
"Dual Burst Slash."
Zhao Luo brought down both of his swords on the old man while the old man still looked unaffected.
The two swords came down in less than a single heartbeat and landed on the old man's shoulder.
"Hmm, good technique. But you are lacking power."
The old man said with a profound look on his face as he judged Zhao Luo's attack while not even blocking them with his finger.
"At least pretend to block them."
Zhao Luo complained but remained unfettered as he pulled back his sword.
"Oh, you want me to use them."
The old man smirked while raising his arms and swinging them gently towards Zhao Luo.
'Let's see.'
Zhao Luo swung his swords in reverse motion while aiming to defend against the two fingers of the old man that were falling on him.
"Reverse Burst Slash."
A crimson light and an enchanting shine were left behind while Zhao Luo's swords moved upwards.

Even though Zhao Luo was confident in his sword technique, his confidence was overcome by the pressure of the two small fingers that were coming down on him.
Each of the fingers was like an unmeasurable mountain and Zhao Luo couldn't help but stare at them.
He could already feel an enormous weight falling on his sword even before his swords and the old man's fingers collided.
'Boom.'
And the next moment when both of their attacks collided, Zhao Luo was buried in the ground of the dark space.
With his swords dropped towards his right and left, he only had shock written on his face along with utter defeat that came as the result of going against the old man's pinky finger.
"Giving up?"
The old man looked down and stared at Zhao Luo who was shaking his head.
"Then get up."
He said with a smile but at the same time, he slowly crouched while pointing his finger at Zhao Luo's face.
Zhao Luo who was looking up felt like the finger of the old man was getting bigger and bigger.
'My handsome face will be crushed if I don't move.'
Zhao Luo rushed on his all fours while his body looked like a walking bridge.
"As expected of my disciple. Even your movement techniques are something that even I have never seen before."
The old man laughed at Zhao Luo who had made a quick escape to dodge his finger.
The old man had intentionally slowed his movement so his Zhao Luo could respond to his attack and fight back.
'but even I hadn't expected such a ridiculous escape by him. Hoho.'
The old ma covered his mouth while looking at Zhao Luo with smiling eyes.
"Master, there is something wrong with your finger."

Zhao Luo didn't mind what the old man was saying but instead pointed at his finger.
"If your finger can indeed grow big, then how is that even an advantage for me?"
Zhao Luo was pointing at his other fingers which were closed as he said with a tragic voice while rubbing off the imaginary debris from his robe.
"It's not my finger that had expanded, it's your mind that is too small."
"But my mind has the potential to match a crimson god."
Zhao Luo said replied to the old man who was calling his mind small.
"Just having potential is enough?"
The old man questioned with building anger in his tone.
"Why do you think people polish a diamond. It's already a diamond, it's not like it will change if they polish it. So why?"
The old man asked again while shaking his fingers up and down at Zhao Luo.
"To give it a perfect shape."
Zhao Luo replied slowly while not being sure of his answer.
'Ah, why did he get it right on the first try!'
"Tsk, not everything is simple as that but let's say that is one of the answers."
The old man reprimanded Zhao Luo but also continued with his answer.
"Just like a rough diamond, the potential of your mind is at least at the level of a crimson god (thanks to me) but if you don't work on it, then it will stay as your potential and nothing else."
"But haven't I mastered Naoli already?"
Zhao Luo rebutted while feeling confused about the old man's words.
"I will answer that if you can make me step out of this circle."
The old man pointed downwards towards the white circle.
'What have I missed?'
Zhao Luo thought but he didn't have time to continue pondering over it.
Till now he had only mastered Naoli which was the first step to godhood.
Because of his mental strength, 'Naoli', his potential was already par with a crimson god but now there was a way to cultivate this potential.
Zhao Luo raised his ankle and pushed his toes backward.
"Mini Walk."
Leaving behind a flashing image Zhao Luo had already appeared behind the old man.
With his arms pulled back to the extreme and his hand clenched tightly as a fist, Zhao Luo threw his fist at the old man.
"Explosive Fist."
The moment Zhao Luo's fist was going to land on the old man's back Zhao Luo's fist was stopped in its place.
The old man mumbled without turning around.
"Sneaking up behind me?"

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Hinterland
Simon sincerely believed he was saving Morgan's life when he pushed her off the second-story roof of her family farmhouse. To be fair, his mother was burning it to the ground at the time. But Morgan Mumford, a lonely outcast with a chip on her shoulder and a full skeleton of remarkably unbroken bones, is not particularly convinced of his good intentions. Because the instant he pushed her over Simon also whisked Morgan into the realm of Hinterland: a shadowy world that is a perfect replica of their home town of Coching. But Hinterland is a hungry and dangerous place, where ordinary objects have taken on a life of their own. In Hinterland you might be ambushed by a gang of motorcycles or eaten alive by a duplex. And by god, you run from scissors. Morgan is now trapped in this hostile realm, unable to find a way home. Hunted relentlessly by Aqualung, an evil-minded Buick Skylark with a love for Jethro Tull and hatred for all things on two legs, she is forced to join a ragtag band of fellow castaways to ensure her survival. But the embittered leader of these children has plans of his own, and before long Morgan finds herself swept into his vendetta against Hinterland's imperious ruler: Simon's mother, who commands the living, breathing town to do her bidding and schemes to transform it into something worse than it is now. Something ravenous. It's time for Morgan to decide whether to ditch her new allies and find her own way out of the belly of the beast, or stay and help her fellow outcasts weather the violent feud that brews on the horizon.
