《Becoming God of a Dystopian World 》Chapter 268: Identity Of the Friend

While Zhao Luo wondered about what Elder Gay would be saying with such a serious expression, Elder Gay brought his hands together.
He made a claw shape with both of his hands, one of which was more open than the other.
"Don't even try washing them. That doesn't remove the lingering energy of the tree from the fruits."
Elder Gay said to Zhao Luo while showing him his words in action as he rotated both of his hands' side by side.
"pfft."
Zhao Luo barely controlled his laughter while trying to speak.
"So the reason why the fruits can't be stored after we pluck them from the tree is because of the lingering energy of the tree is on it?"
Zhao Luo repeated what Elder Gay had told him but still, that didn't explain the situation.
"The tree's energy ruins the formation that keeps up the cubic space in the storage rings and other storage accessories. Thus the formation doesn't allow it to be stored."
Elder Gay clarified what he had just said in a more explainable way for Zhao Luo to understand.
'So, it was like that.'
Zhao Luo clapped his hands together like a dolphin who had made a new friend and was trying to express its happiness.
"I will remember it Elder."
After saying that Zhao Luo was ready to leave the mission hall's building since Senior Cutie was waiting outside for him with Xiao Yu and Pi Hao.
But before he could move away, Elder Gay stopped him once again.
"I have been wanting to ask you this, but I was holding myself back. Who is this on your back?"
Elder Gay asked Zhao Luo as he pointed at the guard who was still unconscious while being carried on Zhao Luo's back.

"He is a gua- friend."
"Ah, a friend of yours is also a friend of mine."
Elder Gay nodded as he was only curious about the identity of the man who had been present here since the beginning but didn't have much of a presence at all.
'A friend huh.'
Elder Gay thought and looked at Zhao Luo.
"Your disciple brothers must be waiting for you. Good Luck."
Elder Gay clasped his hands as he wished Zhao Luo well, just like someone would do for his friend.
"Thank you."
Zhao Luo bowed his head to the Elder and turned around to leave the building.
The moment Zhao Luo left the building, Senior Cutie, Xiao Yu, and Pi Hao got around Zhao Luo and gazed at him with burning eyes but didn't say a word.
They all wanted to know what the Elder had talked about but didn't want to ask about it either.
Zhao Luo understood the concerns of his disciple brothers and told them about the things that Elder Gay had informed him about.
"And he asked me about this guy."
Zhao Luo pointed at the face of the guard which was resting on Zhao Luo's left shoulder.
"Isn't he the friend you made in the forest?"
Xiao Yu said to Zhao Luo since, in the forest, they had never continued asking about the 'friend' after Zhao Luo's initial answer.
"Hah, it's complicated."
Zhao Luo said to them carefully after looking around the mission hall.
The space was getting crowded with the disciples that were entering through the black door.
Their group stood out too much so Zhao Luo waved them to get closer.
"Let's return to the living zone first. I will tell you everything when we return."
Zhao Luo slowly said to them after which the four left the mission hall and made their way to the green door.

Senior Cutie who was following behind Zhao Luo on the way back felt disturbed as he looked at the back of the sleeping guard.
'He can't be...'
His eyes trembled as the thing he feared may have been true.
'But if they really sent assassins after him, then how did Little Brother survive?'
Senior Cutie thought without giving a voice to his thoughts as he silently waited to reach the living zone.
Soon the four had reached the green door and Zhao Luo was the only person to enjoy the refreshing feeling that was emanating from the welcoming color of the door but his enjoyment didn't last long as the others looked to be in hurry.
Xiao Yu and Pi Hao looked eager to know the identity of this friend that Zhao Luo had suddenly brought back after being chased by the leader of the flying monkeys so they hurriedly passed through the green door.
Zhao Luo was smiling after watching the backs of Xiao Yu and Pi Hao disappearing as they entered the living zone but then his eyes landed on the bald senior who looked like he was lost in his thoughts.
'He is behaving weirdly.'
Zhao Luo wondered but then again Senior Cutie who was always ready to mess with Zhao Luo so he wasn't worried too much about it.
"What are you waiting for?"
Zhao Luo asked Senior Cutie who was gazing at the green door with expressionless eyes.
"Ah, nothing. Let's go."
Senior Cutie shook his head as whatever he was thinking was interrupted by Zhao Luo after which he entered the living zone.
'Nod.'
Zhao Luo followed behind him and entered the living zone.
"Let's go to my place."
Zhao Luo said to them as he kept on running while making his way towards his place.
A few minutes later the four stopped at the white palace which was in the middle of the last row of palaces.
Zhao Luo entered the palace and the other followed behind him.
'This is the first time I have invited someone to my house in the last century.'
Zhao Luo smiled as he place the guard down and sat down next to him.
The others also sat down around the guard. With the four around the guard, it looked like the guard was trapped in a four-point circle.
"So..."
Senior Cutie said as he and the others waited for Zhao Luo to give them the 'complicated' explanation.
"He is not my friend instead..."
Zhao Luo suddenly started talking since it was better for them to know.
'If the other guards have already returned then the 'Right Serpent' must know that I was the one who had taken down the guard leader and the fatty. So they may be in trouble since we were on the mission as a group.'
While thinking about their safety, Zhao Luo continued.
"..a guard under Mo Suo. Specifically under someone called the Right Serpent."
Zhao Luo exposed the identity of the so-called friend while Senior Cutie, Xiao Yu, and Pi Hao looked at the guard with murderous gazes.

Unfortunately, he's the protagonist, so yeahhhh shit's gonna happen He chooses the mage class which is often ridiculed for its low health and high MP costs. There is gonna be fucking profanity because books where the protagonist is like "fiddlesticks" when they fuck up are stupid and targeted at kids that haven't gone thru puberty yet. And yes, there will be gore. Otherwise what's the point of these games? The cover is not mine and I don't own it okay I just got it off one of those sites rate this if you feel like it

They send him to Elrich, a world with monsters, demons, and where adventures await. However, his goddess liaison is a bit of an airhead and messed up his reincarnation. What sort of place awaits him in this world full of danger and uncertainty? This world is harsh, not at all the fantasy fluff and harems he'd imagined. Will he be able to keep his sanity with death around every corner? This story has LGBTQ friendly themes. It touches on drug use, child molestation, rape, children committing murder, death sentencing as a form of punishment, and questioning one's sexual identity. There are some harsh themes, since this is meant to be a harsh world. Some themes touch upon the MC directly, the others happen to secondary characters. I try not to go into too graphic of detail and I believe that this story is 16+ friendly. I promise that these themes tie together in the end to make a cohesive whole and are used to provide back story for later developments.

Three Hundred Years After The End Of The World
Three hundred years after the end of the world as humanity knew it, the gears of an old plan slowly begin to move again, as a group of self-imposed reincarnators, along with their equally unlikely companions, gather once again to set things right... but does the world they plan to restore need, or even want, their help? Follow the misadventures of an eclectic bunch of genius misfits as they attempt to assemble and fix the world they accidentally devastated in the past. ~~~ Author's note: This is actually the first volume of a novel I wrote nearly a decade ago for the VNDB discussion boards, taking inspiration from the random off-topic ramblings that characterized the golden age of the community. After sevear years and countless rewrites, it is pretty much unrecognizable, but while it is not fit for professional publishing (due to the fact that several fragments and older versions are still out there on various forums and blogs), I decided it is a waste to just let it sit idly on my hard drive forever. As such, I decided to share it somewhere where people could maybe appreciate it, so here it is.

Hush | on hold
"Your name?"When I stayed silent, he repeated himself. "Your name?""Jeyri." I let out quietly."And last name?""Rae...""Jeyri Rae..." He crouched down next to me and moved the hair from in front of my face, "I dislike when things get difficult, I end up doing things I'd much rather not do. Do you want to know what happened to the last person who made things difficult for me, hmm?" He asked, leaning into me. Is he talking about me calling the cops? He pressed his gun against my head and frowned, "You get it don't you?"I nodded quickly. "Good... And if you tell anyone what you saw today, I'll know." He pressed his finger against my lips and smiled, "So hush."

Toothpick
“Hello! My humble audience! I, the Bard of the North, am going to tell you a tale. Nothing new, nothing old. A story of a hero, some may say, others a poor boy who was hated by the world.” The storyteller paused as he waited, right timing was everything when telling a story. Pacing… Too slow and the audience became bored then left without tossing even the smallest of coins. If he spoke too fast and rushed the story. It would leave the audience confused and having no reason to be impressed. So like any good storyteller, the Bard has to do a balancing act of sorts. Not too slow, not too fast. Just perfectly in the middle. “In a shattered country in the south, a novice princeling has the ambition to mend a torn tapestry that is his birthplace. Struggling to fend off those who would usurp the throne in an unending civil war spanning centuries. A mercenary that left only death in his wake, unable to stave off the monotony and peace of life. He looks back at the path laden with bodies, wondering if it was all worth it. Wandering souls summoned by a madman, travel away from a wasteland in a foreign land, the first alone, the others as companions. A deity, ancient in her years, waiting to be freed from a duty she no longer enjoys. For all these people and their stories, none are the hero of this tale. No, the hero is not grand, not wise, not ready.. he was punished for nothing of his doing, who was an outcast that was unloved by many, including his father.” This was always the big reveal novices use to jump off into their story. He did not start here, instead, like any good fishermen, he set the bait and waited until the fish bit before pulling. As he saw the audience's eyes focus, he then started the backstory. The harness, that stopped the listeners from having metaphorical whiplash. The foreshadowing. “But that is not where the story starts. No, not even the hero's birth. Where the story begins, is the boredom of the deity, a deity many know of. She who hunts for the impossible, the guide for those who have lost the path, the Huntress of Mallon--” A small pause, a short breath. “--All old names for a single powerful being that has roamed the grounds of this continent longer than any line of kings or queens, lords or ladies. A being of worship for many an individual…” One last breath. And he began singing the first verse.
