《Becoming God of a Dystopian World 》Chapter 223: Storing the Stuff

Zhao Luo entered the white palace like a boss.
'I guess nothing's better than entering in your place unannounced.'
Zhao Luo thought while grinning as this was a new feeling that he was experiencing.
Before when Zhao Luo used to travel and stay at different hotels, he would even inform the bellboy of those hotels, before going into his hotel room.
After entering the palace, Zhao Luo looked around and found the floor sparkling.
He continued to look around while walking forward in the entrance hall.
'That must be Mo Suo's stuff.'
A few things were packed around at a corner in the hall, even though the space was cleaned but this corner was the only place that ruined the serene beauty of his new place.
With just a single glance Zhao Luo knew that these things belonged to Mo Suo since he was the previous occupant of this palace.
"Let me clean that up."
Zhao Luo mumbled with a sneaky grin.
He approached the corner and sat down next to the things.
"Let's see what we have here."
Zhao Luo grabbed a black cloth that was covering some stuff while a purple disciple robe was next to it.
Zhao Luo grabbed the robe and brought it closer as he was looking at it.
A pungent smell haunted his nose, obviously coming from Mo Suo's robe.
"Dirty Bastard."
Zhao Luo threw it away and shook his head to knock off that smell.
'What a lazy prince.'
Zhao Luo thought while his eyes went back on the black cloth.
'What is hidden here.'
Then he removed the black cloth revealing 2 brown pouches of different sizes.
"Hmm."
Zhao Luo picked them up but both were as light as a feather.
"Are they empty?"

Zhao Luo questioned the situation as he went on to open the bigger pouch.
"Shwaa~"
The moment Zhao Luo opened the bag, a golden shine invaded his sight.
A shine, so bright that Zhao Luo was forced to close his eyes for a moment.
With closed eyes, Zhao Luo opened his mouth.
"It's gold coins."
Zhao Luo mumbled with twitching lips
Zhao Luo stored 'his' gold coins in his storage space and went for the second pouch which was smaller in size but the weight was nonexistent just like the first pouch.
Zhao Luo opened the pouch and found 3 light blue pills in there.
"Hmm. Well, thanks for the gold."
Zhao Luo mumbled as he had no idea what these pills were for, but the free gold that he had found in his palace was a reward on its own.
Zhao Luo got up from his place and looked around the hall.
Even though the palace wasn't that big, it was the biggest place to live in for Zhao Luo.
"A single room in such a big palace."
Zhao Luo commented as he found a door and speculated that another room existed behind it.
Moving towards the door and opening to enter the door, Zhao Luo found himself in the bedroom of the palace.
'From a hut to here.'
Zhao Luo smiled as he jumped on the bed and closed his eyes.
The moment he closed his eyes, his mouth moved.
"Dark Space."
Zhao Luo called out and opened his eyes in his mental world, the Dark Space.
"Boom."
"Get him."
"You Bastard."
"Bullet Fist."
As he opened his eyes, his ears were swarmed with the shouts of curses and his fist techniques.
"What's going on?"
Zhao Luo turned around to look at the situation and found his apparitions looking like tattered black clothes and his ghost smeared with blood traces all around his body.

"Just how much did they train?"
Zhao Luo wondered as he raised his hand.
'Whoosh.'
Zhao Luo brought it down with an impeccable speed and shouted.
"STOP!"
The moment Zhao Luo's command escaped his mouth, all the apparitions did the inconceivable.
"What? Why aren't are they stopping?"
Zhao Luo was baffled.
"Was I away for too long? Or did he bully them too much?"
"No, maybe my sound didn't reach them."
Realizing that his own apparitions had ignored his call, Zhao Luo tried to humor himself while bringing out excuses on their behalf.
"Gather!"
Zhao Luo shouted again but again the ghost and the apparitions were busy playing tag battle.
Zhao Luo squinted his eyes and found his apparitions chasing his ghost with Mini Walk while the ghost would always retreat slightly, just to take one of the apparitions down each time he retreated.
"Hmm."
Even though the battle was interesting, Zhao Luo wasn't eager to watch it instead his irritation was increasing slowly.
Zhao Luo pulled back his arms at the same time and clenched his fists tightly.
After punching more than millions of times, Zhao Luo's arms had developed into an extreme weapon.
Zhao Luo threw both of his fists forward in the direction of his apparitions and the ghost.
"Bullet Fist of Yin and Yang."
Zhao Luo mumbled as a black and white round sigil formed right in front of his fists.
And soon it died down.
"Boom."
The space trembled slightly but the sudden tremor was enough to get the attention of his apparitions and the ghost.
The ten looked at Zhao Luo with widened eyes while being stopped in the middle of their tracks.
"GATHER!"
Zhao Luo ordered again and this time, all the apparitions instantly came to stand in front of Zhao Luo.
The ghost was right behind them as they all stood with complete obedience.
"Absorb!"
Zhao Luo mumbled as all of the apparitions turned into a big dark cloud and rushed inside his body.
Zhao Luo glanced at his ghost and he disappeared too, leaving only Zhao Luo in his dark space.
Zhao Luo looked down as his body became heavy to such an extent that his legs trembled like a leaf in a windstorm.
"Thud!"
Zhao Luo sat down in a lotus position and closed his eyes.
'They must have improved by a lot.'
Zhao Luo mumbled as he realized that hours of battling against someone stronger than you, was way more benefitting than simply mastering a technique.
"Assimilate."
Zhao Luo mumbled as his body started heating up.

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
