《Becoming God of a Dystopian World 》Chapter 184: Punishment

Zhao Luo stopped clapping at Xiao Yu's action and decided to respect his challenging spirit.
"If you want a fight then I will give you one."
Zhao Luo said to him while looking straight into his eyes with a calm demeanor
'Nod.'
Xiao Yu slightly lowered his knees and brought his palms in front of his chest while directing them towards Zhao Luo.
"This is my 8 palm fighting stance. I hope you won't hold anything back. Otherwise, it will be your Doom."
Xiao Yu told Zhao Luo with an arrogant tone showing confidence in his technique and also relaying the outcome of the fight if Zhao Luo held back his strength.
"I think I will decide that!"
Zhao Luo said as he looked around and smiled.
He didn't take Xiao Yu's words seriously as till now no one was able to force him to use his full strength and neither was there a use to from the start.
While Zhao Luo's primary objective was punishing these disciples who were here to gang up on Mo Anna, thus he looked back at Xiao Yu.
"And to find out if I have to use my full strength against you, you will have to wait."
He had taken off his sight from Xiao Yu instead he was looking at the disciples who had backed off after his and Xiao Yu's display of strength.
"Where..."
Zhao lowered his body and spoke in a cold voice.
"Are..."
He raised his heel.
"You..."
Pushed his toes down abruptly.
"Going?"
'Half Walk.'
'Flick.'
Zhao Luo vanished from his spot.
Xiao Yu's hair blew backward as a gust of wind passed through him while his eyes moved along with the cause of that sudden wind pressure.
Zhao Luo who was the reason for that gust of wind, glanced at Xiao Yu and found him clearly looking at his eyes as both of them stared at each other for an infinitely short time.

'No Way.'
Zhao Luo didn't believe that any disciple from the outer hall could be able to see his movements in such a perfect manner since his foot technique's main concept was to cover a distance in a single breath.
While shaking his head Zhao Luo dived towards the disciples who were backing in a sense that they were strategically running away till Zhao Luo's fight ended with Xiao Yu.
The disciples who were initially running away, couldn't help but tremble as they heard the cold voice of Zhao Luo.
They froze on their spots and turned around while taking out their weapons.
A big battle had broken out.
On one side Zhao Luo was attacking these disciples as they fought back and on the other side, the disciples had stopped backing off as they took this chance to jump on Mo Anna.
Xiao Yu looked around with furrowed brows while thinking about the stance he should take.
He had nothing to do with the disciples who had surrounded Zhao Luo and Mo Anna, neither did he had anything to do with Zhao Luo except for the fact that Zhao Luo could prove to be his best opponent.
'He is arrogant.'
Xiao Yu thought as he looked towards Zhao Luo and moved in the opposite direction to help Mo Anna.
Xiao Yu had chosen to stand with Zhao Luo.
"I am only helping you so our fight can start faster!"
A shout entered Zhao Luo's ear as he looked back and found Xiao Yu fighting with the disciples who were moving towards Mo Anna.
Zhao Luo smiled and turned back towards his enemies.
"Come."
He said to them as it was the perfect time to punish them.
"Ahhhh."
The disciples screamed as they ran towards Zhao Luo with bloodshot eyes while swinging their fists and swords.

"Hmph."
Zhao Luo shrugged as he dodged the attacks that were coming at him from left and right.
He pulled back his fists and set them free like there was no tomorrow.
'Calming Fists.'
'Thud!'
'Thud!'
Zhao Luo's fist hit a few disciples who just took a step back.
With disgusting grins on their faces and shocked eyes, they opened their mouths.
"His fists are weak so don't worry."
They said to the disciples who were coming forward.
The disciples from those who were on their way to attack Zhao Luo smiled while seeing Zhao Luo use his fist.
"Just being fast won't help you."
"Eat my sword."
"Die, you handsome bastard!"
Many of them shouted as their sword slashes rained down on Zhao Luo's head.
"GAHHHH~"
Even before their swords could hit him.
The disciples who had taken a hit from Zhao Luo's "powerless" fists started screaming in agony.
Some were holding their broken arms while others were vomiting mouthfuls of blood as they fell to their knees.
Hearing these painful screams, the disciples who were in the middle of their attack shuddered.
Zhao Luo looked up and saw four swords coming at him while the ones holding the swords were looking at him as if they were looking at a demon.
They wanted nothing more to do than to slice apart Zhao Luo's fist with the blade of their swords but before that could happen only two words entered their ears.
"Bullet Fist."
Zhao Luo released his left fist at the four swords and the moment the coming four swords touched his counter, bullet fist the swords exploded, and the bones in the arms of these disciples started breaking while they were blown away by the pressure of the Bullet Fist.
'AGHHH.'
More screams erupted from outside of the giant stage as Zhao Luo blew away his enemies without giving them any leeway.
While on the other side, Xiao Yu who was covering a side for Mo Anna had his palm directed in different directions.
One palm up while the other palm down.
Around him, more than more twenty disciples were lying on the ground.
Some were unconscious while some had eyes open wide like an ostrich, shocked by the prowess of Xiao Yu.
"Clap."
Xiao Yu brought his palms together after completing a half circle with both of his hands.
"WOAHHHHH."
The crowd erupted as their eyes were locked on Zhao Luo, Xiao Yu, and Mo Anna who were in the middle of the giant stage.

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.

Hugh Johnson and the Seven Evil Alts
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Hugh Johnson was having a bad day. First there was the stupid long line to get into Comiket, then Truck-kun smashed him into paste, a lolii-goddess who punched him into another world, and finally, a wolf that decided to snack on him. And that was just the last 15 minutes. Now he needs to save Eternasy from the Seven Evil Alternate characters he created while playing Endless Fantasy before they destroy the world. Who knew that your actions in a game would have real-world consequences? Join Hugh as he takes on his first Evil Alt and journeys to the Lair of Daemon Wyrm. Hugh Johnson and the Seven Evil Alts will contain tropes familiar to readers of Japanese isekai light novels - a humorous progression fantasy with slice of life scenes, cute girls, burley men, dungeons, magic, and mayhem. Be warned that the MC is not a clueless weeb who has no idea how women or the world works. Expect this to read like hot garbage, and you will not be disappointed. I never expected to toss it into the Writeathon, but I have poor impulse control, so here we are.
