《Becoming God of a Dystopian World 》Chapter 143: Ancient Battle & The Other Rules

"It's because...of the battle that took place in the ancient times. It was a battle between humans and the beast kins. The ancestors of the two families, Mo and Feng, fought alongside the ancestors of the Xin Family. The three ancestors and the martial cultivators under them pushed back the beast kin and defended this Range till their last breath. Thus the three Royal families came to being."
Feng Ma told everyone an ancient story that was kept in pieces in the deep vaults of these Royal Families.
Zhao Luo was hearing this story with wide eyes.
"Such a battle had taken place here."
Zhao Luo spoke with a wavering tone.
"Indeed, nobody has seen it. But now the World has changed and we don't know where the beast kins are hiding and when such a catastrophic event will repeat itself."
Feng Ma said with a troubled look.
"Don't worry, aren't we all training with everything we got? Let the beasts come, we will annihilate them."
Si Chen was the one to show such confidence.
After his battles with the Sand Lions in the Sara Desert, his mental capability has increased by many notches.
"Yes. Well, moving to the rules, I will let Senior continue them."
Feng Ma pointed his hand at Senior Cutie who had been marveling at Zhao Luo's handsome face.
Feeling interrupted, he glared at Feng Ma and then started to tell about the rules.
"There may be many rules, but none of them stops a disciple from getting stronger. While the inner disciple looking over our Sect is on a secondary mission, the Junior Elder and I will be taking care of things. As for the reason I told you the first rule, it's to assure you that even if the King of the Mo family comes here, you don't have to be worried."

Senior Cutie first explained about the ones who were looking over the Outer Hall in the absence of the inner disciple who had taken this mission of overseeing the Outer Disciples.
"Except that, the rules you need to remember are, [Don't take anyone's life unless both parties have previously agreed to a 'dead end'], [Disrespecting the elders is not allowed as they are the main pillars of the Sect], [All the fights are to take place in the Training areas and zones], [Outer Disciples are not allowed to leave the Outer Hall unless it's for a mission or a call from the Elder's hall], that will be it. There are other rules too, but they aren't important. But if you break any of these rules, you can get expelled or in extreme cases, get killed."
"Why killed?"
Zhao Luo asked Senior Cutie cause getting killed for simply disrespecting an elder was too much.
'Did I solve those riddles too easily?'
Zhao Luo wondered what he would do if Elder Dousan, the second elder who was also known as the Master of Riddles, came back for revenge.
'He isn't like that.'
'But what if...'
Zhao Luo thought anxiously.
"Leaving the outer hall won't get you killed, but something like disrespecting the elder to a no redemption point may end up in a death sentence. Since the elders are not only elders in name, they teach the inner disciples and also tag along with the inner disciples on many missions that they are unable to complete on their own, basically giving protection to their disciples while also guiding the untalented ones, personally, so they don't fall behind their peers. Each Elder is very respected by disciples so if you are disrespectful to one then you are just making enemies with hundreds of disciples so before the Sect punishes you, the wrath of the disciples will be worse of a punishment."

Senior Cutie explained with a darkened look.
"You don't have to go to that extreme just to explain as I am not a person who would disrespect my elders."
Zhao Luo shook his hand while telling about his respectful character.
'There is no way I would ever do that.'
Zhao Luo nodded as he made himself remember so that he never disrespects any elder.
"I know. Little Brother is kind just like a flower. He would never be rude to anyone without a purpose."
Senior Cutie added while making Zhao Luo feel uncomfortable.
"Yes, yes. Well, I think you should go."
Zhao Luo told Senior Cutie as it was getting harder to take on these clever advances by Senior Cutie.
"Not yet. There is still one last thing that you need to know."
Senior Cutie shook his index finger as there was still more, that Zhao Luo needed to know.
"What is that?"
Zhao Luo asked curiously.
'What could be left that I still need to know?'
Zhao Luo couldn't help but think while waiting for Senior Cutie's answer.
"It's that the ranking tournament of the outer disciples will be open to the general public. Since it's an event that only happens once in two years, and every outer disciple, no matter which family they are from participates in it, thus it makes a good show for the audience, that is, their families."
"Then, the people of the Mo family will be there too?"
"Yes, they will be. Are you scared?"
Senior Cutie asked Zhao Luo who had just questioned him.
"No. This will be a chance for me to show them my strength."
Zhao Luo looked confident as he clenched his fist and thought of his plan.
"Yes, there will be some senior elders coming to the tournament too so it's a good chance to catch their eyes."
Senior Cutie nodded as the ranking tournament of the outer disciples was always a big event that attracted the big names of the sect.
"What about the ten elders?"
Zhao Luo asked as he wondered if the Second Elder and the third elder will be coming to this tournament.
"No way, they have never attended the outer disciples ranking tournament. The big names I was talking about were the high-level Junior and Senior Elders of the inner hall. Also some of our amazing Seniors."
Senior Cutie shook his head as he rejected Zhao Luo's hopes of seeing the Second Elder again.
"I see."
Zhao Luo said dejectedly.

Spirit of the Gamer
Waking up in a new world with a odd Gaming power? Not the worst thing... Waking up in a world of hungy ghosts, genocidal reapers, and things not quite covered in manga? Well, that was a little harder to adapt to. Story is OC inserted into pre-canon Bleach. This story will be a massive derail from normal Bleach. Expect random ideas, extremly slow start up, and more focus on characters and trying to be a better person. I don't own Bleach. The who does is Tite Kubo, please support the offical Manga/Anime.

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.

A story told from the point of view of an NPC that became sentient. With the help of a friendly player or two, they set about recovering her memories and finding out the cause of her awakening. Set in the MMORPG TERA(The Exiled Realm of Arborea). I got bored on the long commute to and from work(about 1.5 hours each way) and decided to flesh out some of the ideas I've had about my character in game. I write about a chapter a day on weekdays, maybe on weekends too depending on the stuff I have to do irl.

World Master
Hey! I once lived on your world back in 2056. But that was a long time ago and there’s probably no records of my existence. Or, maybe, I haven’t even been born yet… …I’m still figuring out of the timelines correspond. Anyways, I was or will be, or whatever you want to call it (maybe I am?), John Pitcher, a resident at St. Jude’s Hospital for the Mentally Ill. I was a computer programmer and my parents had me admitted there because I was convinced that I had been contacted by Set, the Egyptian god of chaos, about creating a world. Well, apparently, I’m something akin to the great times a hundred grandson of over 10 000 gods, and they didn’t want me to live an ordinary, dull life (well, except for the god of normalcy, but he doesn’t count). Set gave me three years to prepare myself. This begins right at the end of those three years. [participant in the NaNoWriMo Royal Road challenge] I originally had this as part of the prologue, then I realized that it made a better synopsis. Please note: this might seem a bit clunky because I haven't done a lot of writing, and this is supposed to be a kind of prequel to another story that I plan on doing in the future. I will not be fully explaining everything but instead will be explaining things in that other story. This is mainly to help fill in the lore of the world so that people will have at least a basic idea of how things function. Regardless of that, that story won't be written for at least another year, so deal with it. Note: I am using ideas from several different authors in order to make sure that this can be a proper story. You may or may not recognize where I got them. I am not writing a Fanfiction and do not claim these as my own. I will add to a list of titles below as I find myself using those ideas. World Keeper (obviously) The Wandering Inn The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound (not yet, but eventually) A bunch of others that I haven't thought of yet
