《Becoming God of a Dystopian World 》Chapter 57: Zi Fei

The outer hall was the place where the trainee disciples would be brought to after they had passed the entrance exam of the Sect.
This was the place where they would stay. Also, this was where they would train.
Some trainee disciples had been here for more than 7 years already, unable to become strong enough to acquire the First '|' Mark on their badge.
While every year more than two thousand people would join the sect after passing the examination. But only a handful from such a big number would gradually improve.
The trainee hall already had around seven thousand disciples who were still trainees. With these twenty new disciples joining their rank.
The Outer Hall had a ranking border where the top 100 Outer disciples would be ranked according to their strengths and weaknesses.
Every year one of the lower-ranking 'outer disciples' from the 'Outer Hall' would be guiding the trainees according to their assigned mission.
In the Xin Sect, disciples were assigned missions and the reward for completing these missions would be Xin Coins depending on the difficulty of the mission.
One of the easiest whilst also being the hardest mission for the outer disciples of the Outer hall was 'guiding the trainees'.
The Sect would award 5 coins to the outer disciple after he completes his shift to help
the trainee disciples for a whole year.
Training someone is never an easy job. But what if your trainer isn't even willing to train you and just pretending or bullying you during that period.
One of the hardest jobs will become the easiest if you just mess around instead of working on it.
Most of the trainees were in the trainee hall right now for their training. During that time they heard their trainer, the outer disciple disrespecting the new trainees.
Almost every disciple of the Xin Sect in the trainee hall was looking at the disciple who had just entered the hall after Zi Fei.
With more than five thousand eyes on you because someone just threw sh*t at you wasn't a fun experience for any of them including Zhao Luo.
'What?'
Zhao Luo looked at the man who had insulted them.
'He sure is big.'
Zhao Luo thought as the man looked like a bodybuilder. He wasn't even that tall but he was too much on the muscle side.

"Mite how many times have I told you to behave yourself when addressing the trainee disciples?"
Zi Fei shouted as he looked at the big guy who was named mite.
Even though it looked like Zi Fei was scolding mite but the expression on Zi Fei's face showed otherwise.
His lips were curled upwards and brows arching downwards and his eyes were squinted, he looked more like a clown telling a joke.
"Brother Fei it was years ago, and if I address them as trashes it motivates these newbies."
Mite explained to Zi Fei presenting the excuse for his rude attitude.
Zi Fei who was trying to control his eerie laugh looked at Mite with his serious face.
Zi Fei's serious face wasn't something to be taken lightly as his face still had a smile on it. But the smile now looked way evil than the creepy ones that Zi Fei had been showing before.
"Trash. Then why haven't you been motivated yet? Why are you still one of the lower-ranking outer disciples?"
Zi Fei said to Mite.
He started by calling Mite trash in front of so many trainees. This caused Mite to look down in embarrassment. His cheeks felt hot as if Zi Fei had slapped them.
"This guy, he is weird but amazing."
Zhao Luo said as he felt different, after seeing how Zi Fei dealt with Mite.
"Mite your only job is to help them. Whether you do it properly or slack off in your duties, I couldn't care less."
Zi Fei said as he continued to approach Mite step by step.
Mite didn't show it but he was scared sh*tless seeing the smiling Zi Fei approaching him slowly. As Zi Fei came to stand in front of Mite, he placed his hand on Mite's shoulder and looked at him with his squinted eyes.
'Thud.'
Mites knees gave up as he bent down letting his knees touch on the floor. Zi Fei tilted his head downwards watching the bent Mite.
"Nobody talks back to me."
Zi Fei said to Mite. He said it so that only Mite could hear.
Mite started nodding while looking at the ground as the hand of Zi Fei on his shoulder was already like a crushing weight for Mite.
After dealing with Mite Zi Fei turned around.

Zi Fei looked at the new trainee disciples.
"This is where you will stay from now on. If you don't try your best and keep on advancing then you will end up like that."
Zi Fei gave a little speech to Zhao Luo and the other new disciples as he pointed at Mite who was looking devasted.
'That should be enough.'
Zi Fei thought as he made his way out of the trainee hall leaving the new disciples in the hands of Mite.
"Phew."
Mite released a breath of relief as Zi Fei had finally left, leaving the trainee hall to him.
"Well, now that he is gone. Let me tell you something."
Mite stood up and brushed off the dirt from his robe.
Before Zi Fei was standing between the new disciples and Mite but now there was no one blocking their view of Mite.
Zhao Luo could see the badge on Mite's chest.
"There are four marks on his black badge."
The marks on Mite's black badge were something like this.
'/||'
Zhao Luo who was familiar with what this mark meant knew that Mite was someone who was at the 7th level.
"Why do you think there are so many trainees still here? In this hall, every one of them is stronger than you."
Mite said to the new disciples as he pointed at other trainees who were here to spectate.
"They can easily advance to an outer disciple but they wouldn't. The reason is simple. Free accommodation and food while they only have to train their bodies every day."
Mite said as he explained the reason behind the large numbers of trainees in the trainee hall which had accumulated over the years.
"While there are so many trainees here in the trainee hall, there are still those from the previous tests who have already advanced to the outer hall after becoming the outer disciple."
Mite explained. Surely his words held some power and reason.
"But after you become an outer disciple you will have to do Sect mission. For every mission completed successfully the Sect will award you Xin coins. That's the only way to earn Xin coins and pay for your accommodation and food. So is having these things for free better or working for it every day?"
Mite said to them as he smirked.
People tend to look for the easy way out of everything so he expected many among these 20 disciples to just stay in the trainer hall.
Outer disciples weren't given free things like the trainee disciples.
"How do I become an outer disciple?"
Zhao Luo asked ignoring everything that Mite had said till now.
He didn't care about the pros and cons of the trainee status. His only mission was to improve.
Mite looked at Zhao Luo as he had questioned Mite and started laughing as if Zhao Luo had told him a joke.
"Hahaha. We have a devoted one here."
Mite shouted instead of answering Zhao Luo's question. After making fun of Zhao Luo he remembered senior brother Zi Fei's warning.
"Ahem, you all received the black badge after passing the exam. The color of the badge represents the form of cultivation. Black represents the cultivation of the body's strength. You can develop the strength of the body by training here but it has a limit. To exceed the limit you will have to become an outer disciple."
Mite explained to Zhao Luo but he still hadn't completed his answer.
The trainees before Zhao Luo's group had passed different types of tests. But this group had directly passed the one-minute test of the Second Elder.
So they were very confident in their physical abilities. While they were thinking they saw that Mite was going to continue.
"To acquire the first mark on your black badge, you need to show that your body is already at the limit before I allow you to take the qualifying test to become the outer disciple. To show that you will have to FIGHT me."
Mite said to Zhao Luo as he pointed at himself.
He was showing everyone that it wasn't trivial to become an outer disciple.
"Don't worry I will go easy on you all."
Mite smirked. Even though he would go easy on them and try to fight at their level, no one would dare to fight him right after entering the Sect.
"So you will see if we are strong enough to take the outer disciple test."
Zhao Luo said as he walked a step towards Mite with every word he spoke.

Summoner's Journey
[Before you read - the story is officially dead. The reasons behind it are posted in the last chapter.] In a magic world on the verge of an industrial revolution, Ari Ragnarsson must uncover the truth behind his parents' disappearance. They were part of an organization known as the Order, which protects mankind from various threats - both human and supernatural. Now, after Ari's brands finally manifest, he leaves the safety of his village and travels to the continent. Strength is all that matters in this world and he must learn how to control his powers. There, he meets a man from another world, who's being hunted for merely existing. Their fates become intertwined, but not in a way either of them would appreciate. Author's note (contains minor non-story related spoilers about the MC and setting) This is a progression fantasy with LITRPG elements sprinkled on top. The main character is not a spellsword, but a summoner/support mage hybrid. Since he wasn't ambushed by a random god, there's no cheat item/spell and he has to rely on his skills and wits to survive in a world full of monsters. The story tries to show the moment when the old starts to be replaced by the new, with a healthy dose of magic and a little steampunk in the background. Also, it revolves around a party dynamic akin to RPG sessions. No health/mana bars. Numbers are secondary and the LITRPG elements focus more on classes/spells/runes and their evolutions. Tables are sparse at the beginning, but from chapter 7 onwards they appear more often. Still, I won't be copy-pasting the whole character sheet dozens of times per chapter.

I am not professionally trained as a writer but I have tried my best to teach myself and make the chapters as clean as possible. I believe I have reached a point where my limited skills cannot improve the work or make any more corrections. It is very difficult to show this work, but if I do not, I fear I will never improve and learn. So here it is. To anyone who lends the time to read all of this and any of my chapters. Thank you.
