《Becoming God of a Dystopian World 》Chapter 22: Arrival

Around the Giant tree in the middle of the Dread Forest.
The empty patch of ground around the tree was shaking vigorously. The golden shine that was illuminating the space around the tree felt even more out of this World because of the momentary shaking that would happen at equal intervals of times.
It was as if the ground was a wooden door and from right below it, someone was knocking on the door in such a manner that they intended to break the door.
Everyone gets this kind of visitor sometimes.
This time the visitor was Zhao Luo.
A few hours back.
Below the giant tree, the laboratory was present. This was the place where Zhao Luo had spent more than 100 years of his life.
He was trapped in a capsule specially designed to sustain life for millennia yet Zhao Luo was only in there for 100 years.
It had already been 110 years since he was put inside that capsule.
Zhao Luo, who had been mentally awake for the last ten years, was finally able to control his body and open his eyes.
"Haha, finally this feeling. Haaaa."
Zhao Luo was feeling euphoria. The intense feeling of happiness because of finally moving his body and opening his eyes made him so happy that even if he died now he wouldn't regret it.
But he couldn't die yet as his journey was just beginning.
Now the next thing was getting out of the capsule. He tried to touch the glass of the door in front of him as he was lying flat in the capsule bed. After touching it, he could feel the cold sensation coming from the glass door. Then he tried pushing it upwards to open it.
But to his surprise, it didn't open.
"Ah now, what is wrong with this. Let me OUT."
Zhao Luo screamed when the glass door didn't open.
"Subject Has Awaken."
A voice manly voice was heard from within the capsule.
Zhao Luo creeped out because it felt like some guy was whispering in his ears.
"Releasing the gas"
The voice continued.
After its announcement that only Zhao Luo could hear. The gas which was making it impossible for Zhao Luo to look outside the glass door was quickly released.
"Opening the door"
Another instruction was announced.
"Hah, not bad, Takuma not bad."
After feeling his body he knew that he was way better than how he was before even if he was not in the best condition.
"Now after the door opens, I will finally be walking on my two legs. I will finally feel the sunlight falling on my body. I will be Free."
Zhao Luo was excited. He couldn't wait anymore to get out of this capsule and experience the World.

The more eager he was the more his wait continued. The door didn't open and another voice could be heard.
"Error. Opening the door. Error. Opening the door. Error."
The door didn't open. Zhao Luo was stuck there. He was feeling anxious after hearing so many instructions.
As the C-gas was cleared completely, Zhao Luo knew the reason for this Error.
There was a pile of big rocks on the capsule but fortunately, there were no cracks on the glass door and neither any bents on the capsule.
'Thank God, Takuma I will surely repay you somehow.'
Zhao Luo thanked Takuma for making the capsule so sturdy that it was still fine under such heavy rocks. Otherwise, Zhao Luo would have already turned into human paste under these rocks.
Zhao Luo thought about getting out of here somehow but how would he move the rocks above the capsule.
He was thinking right when he heard the capsule's voice again.
"Initiating explosive ejection. Three seconds to prepare for the shock."
Zhao Luo heard the instruction and was shocked. His crisis of getting out of the capsule without getting smashed by the rocks was going to be managed with this ejection. 'But what did it mean by the three seconds of preparation for the shock?'
Zhao Luo thought while readying himself. He breathed in as hard as he could. Just then he realized some changes in his body but he didn't even get the chance to fully check out these changes as the voice spoke again.
"3"
It was the start of the countdown as the three seconds had already passed
"2"
'Gulp'
He unconsciously swallowed his saliva in nervousness.
"1"
An explosion came from under the capsule which catapulted it upwards. The rocks above the capsule dispersed around it.
A shocking sensation passed through his body as the magnitude of that explosion was so high. Zhao Luo had his eyes closed as the pain was so overbearing. Zhao Luo wasn't able to help it and screamed in pain.
His scream was filled with so much power that cracks appeared in the glass door and the rocks that had already dispersed around the capsule, turned to dust.
After the pain subsided, Zhao Luo opened his eyes and was shocked when he saw the dust around the capsule.
'Was he trying to kill me?'
Zhao Luo questioned with Takuma being the center of his question.
"Pssshhh"
The sound of the door opening could be heard as the glass door of the capsule opened upwards.
After it was completely opened, Zhao Luo leaped out of it like a cat instantly.
Even though he hadn't moved in an amazingly long time, he was feeling healthier than an athlete and stronger than a bodybuilder.
He started to look at his body.

The muscles he had never trained were visible with an astonishing shine as If someone had polished them.
He turned towards the glass door of the capsule and noticed the cracks on it. While closely looking at the crack he could see the reflection of his face on the glass door.
Another shock to Zhao Luo.
"This, this is my face. I don't believe it."
Zhao Luo exclaimed while feeling his face with the fingers of his hands.
His looks were the same but the same looks were perfected.
The tone of his skin could be said to be whiter than snow.
The edges of his face were as if someone had drawn them by sculpting the face on the diamond.
If he was 3 on a scale of 1 to 10, it could be said that now, that scale would be useless to measure these angelic looks.
Even the person who had changed so much was in shock.
'Is this love?'
Zhao Luo was falling in love with himself. He had never seen a guy this handsome and gorgeous before neither did anyone else.
He was indeed too good-looking now.
Zhao Luo turned around to find a way to get out of here.
He saw the rocks a little far ahead which were steep so he could climb them easily to go up.
He ran towards them and jumped on the first rock and started climbing.
After climbing on a thicker rock on which he could stand and dig towards the Earth's surface, he took a rock that he would use as a shovel.
He was trying to come up to the ground surface by destroying the last hurdle on his path.
The last hurdle was the rocky ground below the empty patch. The reason this ground being so thick and strengthened was that the golden roots of the giant tree were between the rocky ground which was below it and the empty green patch above it.
It was the bad luck of Zhao Luo that he was trying to go up through this way.
He hit the rocks above him with the little rock in his hand.
"Just break and let me get out of this place already."
Zhao Luo said as if the rock could hear him it broke into pieces.
The rock that was now in pieces wasn't the one above Zhao Luo. It was the one in the hand of Zhao Luo which he used to hit the rocky ground above him.
'What should I do now?'
He couldn't find another rock around him and he was too far close to reaching the ground so he decided that he will indeed go up through here.
Zhao Luo thought for a moment and clenched his fist.
He could still feel the overflowing power in his body. He couldn't explain it but right now he felt explosive energy in his hands.
Zhao Luo threw a punch at the rocks above him and a hole was made in the rock which caused cracks to spread around and the rocky layer soon fell revealing a golden thick wood behind it.
"Huh, this easy. I should have tried throwing a punch from the start."
Zhao Luo felt joy when he realized how strong his punch was.
"Why is a wood structure blocking the way?"
Zhao Luo said to himself after seeing the golden root of the giant tree.
He started throwing punches at it.
A punch at a time. Every two seconds a punch would land on the tree root. Each punch was leaving a short crack on that golden root.
As the crack deepened, the smile on Zhao Luo's face deepened along with it.
'FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY, I WILL BE OUT OF THIS PLACE.'
But this happiness for Zhao Luo happened to be the reason for the fear of two people who were standing somewhere far from the giant tree.
"It's coming out. Get ready."
Rose said to Si Chen. Even though she felt fear as the beastly banging continued and the ground kept on shaking but as the youngest daughter of the Royal Mo family she had her pride.
Whereas Si Chen was trembling in fear.
Both pulled out their swords and we're ready for the thing that was making this havoc come out of the ground.
Underground.
"Just a little more."
Zhao Luo threw the last few punches needed to destroy the golden tree root.
Finally, there was space big enough for him to get out of that hole.
He couldn't wait and jumped out of the hole that he had made after punching like crazy.
"I have finally arrived."
It was evening time, as the sun was already close to setting the atmosphere could be said to be had eerie and half tranquil.
Both Rose and Si Chen focused on the person who came out of the recently made hole in the ground.
To their surprise, it was a guy.
Even though they couldn't see Zhao Luo well they both knew that the person that had come out was too handsome.
Si Chen as a man himself couldn't openly admit it but Rose unknowingly said.
"So handsome."
They both had their guards down.
The hearing of Zhao Luo had become ten times better than before so he could hear what Rose had said about him and turned towards her.
They both looked into the eyes of each other.
This stare kept on going for a while leaving Si Chen feeling weird.
'Why are they ignoring me?'
Si Chen thought.

For those unfamiliar with my writing style, Second Chances was my first attempt at writing. I'm not sure how much I learned in the process, except that readers get angry when you mess with characters they like! Warnings - I tend to info dump. I know I do this, I like slice of life novels that take time to unfold. So don't expect action, murder, and battles in every chapter, it isn't going to happen I prefer the first-person narrative. I will do an occasional POV shift, but it will never be done mid-chapter. I hope you enjoy the story, comments, ratings, and favorites are greatly appreciated!

I’ve always wanted to challenge my writing skill and post on Royalroad a few times, but, as it turned out, I realized my own English capability still limited me. Therefore, I am currently working with a team of three, hence the name Triopals, consisting of me, the author, a translator, and an investor who really put his faith in this project. My translator and I will work together to deliver four chapters each week. Depending on the translating, editing, re-reading, checking, and re-reading-again process, the chapters will be uploaded each day or all at once. Careful as we may be, there can still be some errors at our best, so we welcome grammatical corrections, etc. We are very appreciative of your support.
