《Monster Integration 》Chapter 1957: Graveyard of Whispers II

Twenty-five minutes passed by, and I have collected the vast resources from the Graveyard; it was an absolute treasure trove. In the first five minutes, I had found so many precious plants that I had not found in the days in this ruin.
Still, I did not let myself get excited; I kept my emotions in control, not letting them spill even for a moment; there are dangers here, some visible, some invisible, and the most dangerous of all are things that gave this place its name.
That danger only appears once every few days, and I believe I would not be unlucky enough to come across in half an hour period I am here.
For the past twenty-five minutes, nothing had happened, and nothing will happen in the next five minutes as long as I remained cautious.
With those thoughts, I had spread my vines even further, going for more trees. While harvesting the resources, I did not scourge all; I only take 30% from each plant; so even some dumb monsters have noticed some fruits missing, they will only get slightly angry and will not go on a full rampage.
Seconds passed by, and my vines brought me more and more resources, from fruits to roots; everything came at me and got stored in my storages carefully.
I did not store the resources into the boxes by my hand; it was all done by my storage ring. With my soul power increasing, I was able to do some things I had not been able to do before, and it is amazing; I just ordered it with the help of my soul energy, and formation in the storage ring will do just that.
Finally, thirty-minute passed, and I informed Ashlyn and began to call back my vines; my greed wanted me to stay more, but I crushed those thoughts as I cautiously called back my vines, and by the time I had finished, Ashlyn had also come back to me.

I am a little surprised seeing that, while I remained in my place on the boundary, Ashlyn had gone deeper to richer fruits.
I had thought I had forced her and threaten her to came back, but I did not have to do any of that; I just called her, and she returned. It is very unlike her, but I am happy she had listened to me.
Taking one last look at the 'Graveyard of Whispers,' I moved according to Ashlyn's instructions. I am more cautious than before, as I do not want the trouble to strike at the end due to some silly mistake.
Half an hour passed by, and I was able to cover half the distance; in fifteen to twenty minutes, I would be in a safe area, and I will not have to hide from those powerful dumb monsters that were hiding in the trees.
Chew, Chew, Chew!
I was slowly moving behind the collapsed wall when suddenly Ashlyn chirped in a warning, and this time, not in my mind but out loud, loud enough that all the monsters in the silent, silent Graveyard behind me could hear her.
I jumped as she told me, and as I did, her size began to increse rapidly, and within moments, her size had reached over five meters. I landed on top of her before her speed increased suddenly and we started to move at the blurring speed.
Roar Roar Roar
I had just opened my mouth to ask what had happened when suddenly, loud roars began to ring out through the Graveyard. To my shock, these roars and are not directed at me at all but something else; it only took me a moment to understand what this something else could be, and horror couldn't help but appear on my face.

"Whispers," I said with horror, and second after that, I couldn't help but started to hear the faint whispers; it is very faint that makes one believe that one is hallucinating them, but they are real, and creatures that are making them are even more terrifying.
The reason this place is called 'Graveyard of Whispers' and not an enchanting garden of treasures or something else is because of this great danger that lurks here.
ROAR ROAR!
Even the powerful monsters of this place are not immune to these whispers creatures; they are suffering painfully. I could sense they were getting injured, not only in the body but in the soul also. These leaders class monsters are not the only ones; even the Master class monster residing in the center is letting out the painful roars.
Few seconds passed by, and whispers in my ears became louder and louder when suddenly, I felt my body shudder at the same moment Ashlyn's silver fire covered her and me wholly.
Crackle Crackle Crackle
A second later, a crackling sound rang out, and saw something invisible became visible and now burning like a crackling firecracker. That was just the beginning; the crackling sound became denser and louder as more invisible things began to burn by Ashlyn's fire.
I could not see what these things were; one moment, they were invisible, and the next moment they started getting burned by Ashlyn's fire.
Nobody knows the real shape of 'whispers' as they named; some even doubt whether they are live beings or just something stray formations have created.
I don't know about the others, but I know they are alive beings and not the work of some stray formation; I am faintly sensing the life energy as they are being burned by Ashlyn's fire.
This fire of Ashlyn is not a simple one; it only shares the silver color with it. It seemed to specifically be made to deal with whatever these whispers are; from the information I had read from the Pyramid, the regular fire did not work against the whispers.
Only powerful special flames like Abyssal flames or Phoenix flames work against it. If I had not been saved by Ashlyn, these whispers would have been eating my flesh and soul right now.

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?

I, Mor-eldal: The Necromancer Thief
As a budding little necromancer, I soon discovered that the world of city people is complicated. When my master kicked me out of the cave, he warned me not to talk about my “dark” magic, because people here don't like the undead. I am not really an undead, I just have a skeleton hand, but it is better to be careful. Anyway, that's not my biggest worry. In the Black Dagger brotherhood, I learn a lot of things, such as illusionist magic, which turns out to be quite handy to survive in this maze of streets: in the Cat Quarter, we have thugs of all kinds that are best avoided. But we also have good people, goodhearted “gwaks”, as we say around here. Little did I know that I would soon be caught up in an infamous traffic that would entangle my life even more. With a mix of lighthearted adventure and picaresque, this story narrates the hectic life of a good-spirited street child and his companions in a medieval urban fantasy setting with some nineteenth-century influences. Updates Mondays and Fridays. This is a Creative Commons By work. It is a translation of a trilogy I wrote in Spanish between 2017 and 2018.
