《Monster Integration 》Chapter 1593: Binding and Harvesting

'It is time to finish it,' I thought, and without wasting any time, I acted.
The fiery black ribbons that had wrapped around me opened in the middle like a maw and moved toward the Crocman.
The Crocman's eyes widened seeing the ribbon, but due to it being in its mad stage, instead of running away, it roared and came at me with the dense bloody aura covering its body and soul.
CLANNNG CLANNNG CLANNNG
Its huge toothed sword moved at extremly fast speed and power that it can even repel several of the fiery black ribbons, only several among the hundreds that begin to wrap around the giant Crocman.
It barely took a moment for the fiery black ribbons to wrap the Grimm Monster completely that it became incapable of moving even an inch.
As my vines bounded it, a sphere of black flames released from me and completely covered huge bodies and mine Grimm Monster. I could feel the several gazes watching the battle, and I don't want to show what happened next.
Though the ribbons would have been enough to hide what will happen, I want to be extra careful. I am very aware of how sensitive my identity is and what will happen if anyone learns about it.
As the black flaming sphere enveloped us, the rest of the fiery ribbons around me wrapped around its huge body, forming a cocoon with me inside.
I looked at huge Crocman, who is completely bound but still struggling to get out intensely; the madness that was present in its eyes has all but disappeared, and cold hard sanity had returned.
"Ahhhhhhhh"
I looked at it for a second before I controlled my ribbons and made them pierce through its body; as they did, it let out the mournful scream. Its a good thing its mouth is bound, and we are wrapped in a cocoon from where no sound could go out.

As the ribbons pierced through its body, a flash of recognization had flashed in its eyes as only my vines could do something like it, and it is one of my identifiers that higher-ups of Grimm Monsters made them memorized.
It was able to recognize me finally and tried to open its mouth to say something, but unfortunately, it couldn't due to ribbons binding it.
"Hehe!"
I smiled and began the harvesting process; as I did, it started to burn its core for self-destruction, wanting to take me together with it. Regretfully, it is not going to happen; my vines have tightly wrapped around its core, sucking all the energy it is releasing; there is no way I will not let it self-destruct.
Usually, it is quite easy to harvest the essence of Grimm Monsters once they are bound and helpless, but it is not the case when it comes to Bloodline holder; Bloodline interferes a lot during the harvesting process.
Now, I am harvesting at five times less speed than I usually do and concentrating 90% of my efforts on my heart to suck away all the energy it releases. I will have to bear it for few moments; once the Hidden Being and Ashlyn acted, everything will be easy.
Few more seconds have passed when finally silver and green runes come out of me. They covered me first before they begin to spread through the vines, and within few seconds, they have covered the vines densely.
Buzz!
"Ahhhhhhhhh"
The runes buzzed lightly and lightened up; as they did, mournful muffled screams begin to ring out from the mouth of Crocman as the Hidden Being and Ashlyn begin to harvest its Bloodline.
A huge amount of energy begins to come inside me and begin merging with my Inheritance Runes; this purified Bloodline Energy is far more powerful than the energies of the two Bloodlines I had earlier.

This energy had a feeling of heaviness, a flavor of crushing strength. The Bloodline of the Crocman is of pure strength, which is not surprising seeing it was common Crocman and not an elemental type, but despite that, its Bloodline is powerful and full of potential.
As the runes sucked the Bloodline energy and merged with my Inheritance Runes, I am able to see its strength, and I have to say, it is mighty. Despite having such a powerful Bloodline, the Crocman could not harness its true power.
If it had, I would have been utterly crushed by it in a single move; If I had such Bloodline, I would have tried my all to harness as much as power from it I could.
Still, I am quite happy by the battle, though it did not make me use all my strength; the battle was challenging with the strength I am using.
I am not worried about finding a challenge that will make me use all my strength. If the auras I had sensed outside is any proof, then I would have no problem in finding the challenges that will make me use all my strength.
There are some people on both sides that are powerful enough that if I come across them, the only choice I will have is run.
I continued harvesting of Bloodline; the process is painful, and the Bloodline had fought against tooth and nail to not to get harvested, but the Silver and Green runes are too powerful, they slowly continued to harvest more and more Bloodline.
In its struggle, the Bloodline got powerful, which made the Crocman powerful, but the amount of increase in strength was not even enough to shake the ribbons that binding the Crocman.
Though I had loosened the vine a little bit to give it a false sense of hope, and it worked as its strength had increased a little, even a little bit count in the grand scheme of things.
Soon, the harvesting process is complete; the runes have not only harvested its Bloodline but also its essence transforming into the beautiful essence rose.
Buzz!
I had just removed the ribbons when 'buzz' rang from my runes as they lighted up and released a huge amount of energy that started to strengthen my Body and Soul rapidly.
As I had said, it is a strength type Bloodline; the increase its giving to my body is greater than my soul; I could feel my physical strength getting higher by a second, and very much looking forward to an immense increase in strength.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.

I'm Sure It'll be Fine! ...right?
We live to die, and die to live again. This Cycle continues, neither to Begin nor End. Ever Beginning, never to End, we come to the story of our Unusual Friend. The Gods are as varied and unique as the mortals that worship them. Some are kind, others are fluffy, and (given the nature of the multiverse) a few are Eldrich Abominations of Unspeakable Horror. But that's fine, those few tend to mind their own business... At least until an Eldrich Abomination (an interdimensional cosmic slime-mold specifically) gets itself devoured by a Lich during a ritual to obtain Godhood... Especially because anyone, even a Lich, who's willing to eat an ENTIRE COSMIC SLIME-MOLD for any reason, even godhood, is undoubtedly a madman...who's now set his unsightly gaze upon replacing (likely by devouring) the Godess of Magic herself! She could probably use some help...if only to avoid touching the slimy Lichgod directly. Also, the Eldrich Gods are protesting these events in their usual manner...by trying to destroy all of Creation.
