《Monster Integration 》Chapter 1299. Date II

"You look mesmerizing," I praised; she may not be as devastatingly beautiful as Ellen and Rachel, but she has personally, which is very hard to see in most people.
"Did I tell you, I like praises? You should remember that." She said with a smile, and her forest green eyes shone in mischievousness. "Don't worry; I will never forget that," I replied.
"You take a seat; I will be finished ten minutes," I said; she nodded and took a seat on the white sofa before turning to me.
"I had expected you would bring a take out and call it self cooking, but it looked like I will get to eat a real dinner made by you." She said, hearing that I couldn't help but smile.
The 'take-out' old impressing trick that both men and women used, even ellen had used it on her first date with her fiancé.
"Don't worry, I am genuine, and though I may not be as good as some people, I like to think you will be impressed by my cooking," I said to her, which brough a smile to her face.
"Then I am waiting, though let me tell you; I am not the girl who would get easily impressed; let me tell you I have pretty high standards." She said, and there was a hint to challenge in her voice.
"Then today, your standards will reach even higher," I said back. I do not talk this much, even with close friends, but she somehow kept bringing words out of my mouth.
Our conversation feels less like a conversation and more like a spar where one party is trying to upend the other, and I have to say, I am enjoying this verbal spar over her than literal spar.

It is something different, Ive never done before with someone with whom I could become romantically involved.
"Dinner is ready," I said as I removed the invisible energy screen. "Good, I am starving after hearing your talk; I just hope it is not empty like a balloon." She said as she came toward the dining table, and on the way, her expressions changed as the smell of cooking filled her nose.
"You are such gentlemen." As I pulled her chair, I smiled at that and took a seat opposite her, and a humanoid golem made of blue crystal began serving us.
This humanoid Golem is a gift from Elena; she had gotten a few of them in the ruin she had explored a few months ago. These golems that they could take a blow from Tyrants without getting scorched.
Unfortunately, these Golems are not programmed to fight. They are butler golems, which could include anything other than fight. If one took them out in the fight, they moved away immediately.
The runic masters in the academy tried to changes their codex, but they were unsuccessful.
"Fancy Golem," Mira commented on Golem, "Thank You, it is a gift from a friend," I said, to which she arched her brow and opened her mouth to say something when butler golem expertly placed a steaming soup bowl in front of her that made do whatever she was doing and stare at the soup in wonder.
I couldn't help but smile, seeing her getting mesmerized by the soup. I had learned the first soup dish and one that I cooked the most; its light taste is beyond words.
She continued looking at the soup for a while before picking the spoon and took the first sip; as she did, she closed her eyes. Her eyes remained closed for whole minutes before she opened and looked at me.

"You are definitely getting a second date and maybe even third." She said surprisingly before she again took a sip from her soup; in a few minutes soup, the soup was finished, and we started on the second course.
The dinner went on, and we talked in between with her asking question about the dinner Ive made. The questions were simple, nothing that encroach upon the secrecy of my culinary art.
Finally, the dessert is served, and it is the latest recipe I had learned; the four dishes before were in twenty while this desert above twenty recipes, the grade above the dishes before.
Ive designed the menu this way that with each course, the eating experience of one would become richer and reacher until it peaked, and watching how Mira is enjoying each bite of a desert with her eyes closed, I know it had worked.
Finally, Mira put her spoon down as she gorged the whole desert. "You are definitely getting second and third dates just for the food you have served me." She said.
"I am lucky that I will be enjoying your magnificent company for two nights more," I said, which had brought a light smile to her face.
"You may look innocent, but you are quite a talker." She said, "You must have trapped quite a few girls in a honey-like mouth of yours." She added.
"This accusation of yours is absolutely false," I said in mock anger, drawing pearly laughter from her that melted mock anger on me instantly.
"Let's go out," I said, and she nodded. It wouldn't be a date if we did not go out. Though it is a military city camp and does not have much places for fun, it is an undeniable fact that this ancient city is beautiful.
"Its beautiful," I said as I admired the beauty of the city, "Yes, truly beautiful. It is hard to imagine such could survive thousands of years seeing the number of Grimm Monsters present on the outside." She said.
"If it had been in any other place than Miasmic Forest, it would have been destroyed more than ten times outside," I said, to which she nodded and fell into silence.
We walked side by side, sometimes talking for minutes, sometimes staying quiet for the same time. I don't know when our hands held each other, but when I noticed, I felt happy walking hand in hand in hand with her.

How to raise a Hive Queen
This story is about a newborn Hive Queen, which gets raised in an unexpected environment. The first part of the story will focus on her development and the challenges that come with it. Eventually she will start to produce her own swarm of hive creatures. The species of the Hive Queen is called the Sylv and they are a insectoid species with an hive mind. The Sylv can evolve themselves through extracting traits from other non Sylv creatures. This is limited to modify the basic set of creatures the Sylv can produce, they are not able to create completely new creatures. In this regard they are more like ants, who have workers, soldiers and queen ants. The Sylv live underground in so called hive complexes and use living structures in them to produce more of their kind. The Hive Queen is the leader of a Sylv Hive and responsible for evolving the swarm. This novel takes place in a fantasy setting and was inspired by other hive species like the Zerg from "Starcraft" made by Blizzard Entertainment, the Arachnea from "Her majesty's swarm" published on j-novel club, and the Vex from "I don't want to be the Hive Queen" by ValetheHowl. I really enjoy stories with an organic hive mind species and want to contribute myself. The focus and theme of this story will change as the Hive Queen matures and defines the goals she wants to achieve.
