《My Passive Skills are Invincible!》Chapter 240: Prying Into The Past

"Young human, are you thinking... how can this old woman see through my thoughts?" Nikorei looked at Mike with a smile as she spoke word by word.
"...!"
Hearing this, Mike was even more shocked. He could not utter a single word.
How is this possible?! Can this old woman really see through my thoughts?! Is this the power of a psychic?
This incomprehensible power shocked Mike greatly.
This was no longer a simple combat ability.
The ability to see through people's hearts was not something that a game could do. In this parallel world... What exactly is this power?!
Mike's heart was in a mess.
When she looked at Mike's shocked expression, Nikorei smiled and waved her hand, "Young human, you have completely misunderstood."
"What?" Mike was slightly stunned and subconsciously asked.
"Although I'm a psychic, a psychic is not like a monster. Please don't be afraid.
"The only reason I can guess your thoughts is because I've lived for a long time."
'Just because… she had lived for a long time?' Mike looked at the old woman in front of him in shock.
Meanwhile, Nikorei walked to the long sofa beside the coffee table, opposite of Sabrina and Mike, and sat down. Mike sat on the single sofa, and Angelina Sabrina sat on the single sofa beside Mike.
She looked at Angelina Sabrina and said, "I'm sorry. It's easy to become talkative when you get older.
"I think I'd better get down to business."
Angelina Sabrina nodded slightly. "I'll have to trouble you then."
At this moment, there were two people who stood behind Angelina Sabrina. One of them was Osmond, who stared at Mike with a confident expression.
He believed that Mike would not be able to clear his name this time.

All he had to do was wait for Lady Nikorei to complete the legendary channeling ritual… And the scene of the late princess's death would be perfectly replayed!
In that time, that despicable human would definitely be unable to defend himself!
The other who stood behind the Elven Queen, next to Osmond, was the only Princess of the current elven race — Ulysses Sabrina.
Right now, her expression looked very calm, but all of this was just her acting. Ulysses Sabrina's heart was beating non-stop right now. She was even a little worried that her strong heartbeat would be heard by others.
After all, she was the mastermind behind Veronica's murder!
"It would be fine if that kid F*ck really found someone else to do this…
"But if he did it himself, then no one can guarantee that F*ck won't give me up when the evidence is conclusive!"
Ulysses Sabrina was very nervous.
Although there were restrictions on the contract, Mike could not break it at will, or he would suffer a very serious backlash from the contract. But in the face of death, the bad nature of humans would be completely exposed.
At that time, no one could guarantee that he would not want to drag someone down with him!
Ulysses Sabrina took advantage of the fact that everyone's attention was not on her, and quietly shifted her gaze to observe Mike.
It was this one glance that made the mastermind slightly more at ease.
Now, Mike seemed to have completely come back to his senses and revealed a confident expression. That is right, even if that female thief had set him up for some unknown purpose, he still found someone else to do it.
However!
If this so-called psychic could really see the past, then he would definitely be able to clear his name!

At this time, the elven psychic, Nikorei, had already raised her hands and started casting spells. She was chanting some obscure incantations in an unknown language. This appearance gave people a strong feeling of being a 'fraud'.
However, her hands, which faced each other, began to glow slightly. This clearly told Mike that she was not bluffing. In addition to the quiet and serious attitude of everyone around, it made the psychic ritual even tenser.
Even Mike could not help but hold his breath and watch Nikorei's next move carefully.
In the next moment, the light that emitted from Nikorei's hands gradually became stronger. Then, her folded hands slowly moved to both sides.
The light on her hands did not move along with the movement of her hands. Instead, it stayed where it was.
Nikorei did not stop chanting until her hands completely left the 'ball of light'.
At this moment, Mike noticed that Nikorei's face had become a little pale, and beads of sweat oozed out of her forehead.
Obviously, this 'psychic spell' required a lot of physical strength. It was indeed much too tiring for an old person.
Nikorei did not raise her hand to wipe her sweat. Instead, after she took two deep breaths, she directly chanted another spell at the ball of light. This time, it was words that Mike understood.
"Great Time Lord Kronos.
"Now, your most loyal believer needs to borrow your strength to recall a corner of the torrent of time.
"Wuhula-ha!"
The meaning of the last sentence became the same language as before. Mike did not know what it meant.
This, however, did not reduce Mike's surprise. Because he saw the light ball between Nikorei's hands suddenly begin to twist. The light ball was like a vortex, it spun around the center, and the light ball got bigger.
As the light ball grew bigger, the brightness of the light ball also gradually dimmed. When it expanded to almost filling the room, the ball of light had completely disappeared.
Right then, a magical scene appeared.
The ball of light that disappeared like a miniature of the past, projected into the current reception room.
And the scene in the reception room had now become Veronica's Room!
What was even more surprising was that everyone clearly saw that Veronica Sabrina in this room was not dead.
Not only that, there was a man in black that stood next to her. He whispered something in Veronica Sabrina's ear.
The man was dressed in black. His face was covered by a mask. The only thing that stood out were his eyes.
The eyes of the man in black were completely gray. He seemed to be blind. Mike was surprised to see the man's eyes. This guy was obviously not Crow!
What the hell was going on?

The Goddess’ Chosen
Destiny is a strange force indeed. One simple act can create a ripple, one simple change can cause a cataclysm. One act outside of the individual would be enough to alter one's life no matter how insignificant that life may be. This is the adventures of Allisa Reed, a young girl from our world who found the legendary sword Excalibur and taken to the magical world of Avalon. On the other side of the portal with her friends by her side, Allisa is forced into a conflict she is not prepared for, ordained as the Goddess Chosen to bring about one of two possible outcomes; Salvation or destruction. ------------------------------------ Author's notes: This is more or less the first draft of this story. Currently working on a second draft. Spelling and grammar is definitely my biggest weakness, particularly in my earlier stuff. I've done some editing and hopefully have ironed out most of these mistakes in my older chapters though I'm fairly certain there are some mistakes still left. This story is ongoing. Updates are slow as I publish when a chapter is ready. Expect long chapters for most of it. Just sort of my style. Only available on Royal road.com

The Granddaughter of Time
Teresa Hargrove was okay with giving up. She knew the Earth was doomed and there was nothing to be done about it. What she was not okay with was the Future, an enigmatic woman nearly fanatical in her devotion to making a difference, dragging her along — seemingly, to prove her wrong. It turns out though that the Future is very hard to understand. This story contains heavy themes, including mental illness, existential crisis and death. However, I still tried to eventually convey a message of hope. Several mythical and metaphorical beings in the shape of humans will appear in most chapters. However, they are not meant to be of a specific ethnicity or social background and are instead perceived differently by people around them. For your reading pleasure, feel free to imagine them any way you’d like, even if your imagination contradicts descriptions from the story. Enjoy!~

Nights of Sambria: And the Wish of Light
“I discovered a secret. One I desperately wish could have stayed hidden. It was locked away, concealed in a fantastical world on the doorstep of 7 billion people who stayed utterly oblivious to it. If they will be spared the terror that is coming, I can’t begin to imagine. Know that a forgotten heritage of a dwindling people whispered, unknowingly sending a call to the ancient mysteries of the world. Something listened. And now events are set in motion that could force the earth on a course of terrible change. I am being hunted and have run out of time. There were no stories about it. No legends. Not even scribbles. Yet, the threat of it is real and that’s why I’m writing this warning with shaking hands. So pay attention those who read this, be careful of what lies waiting cloaked in the darkness. That which made their home the lost places of this world.” She folded the letter with a shuddering breath and stared back in the direction from where the noise reverberated through the halls. It was of stone doors shattering one by one. The chances of getting out safely were all but gone. The letter in her hand was all warning they would have. It dropped into one of the Wells and all that could be done now was hope it was found in time, if at all. -- This was my very first large story. ;) I started writing it years ago. Was fun, was difficult, but in the end, it is a story I hope that will inspire. The prologue is in first person perspective and the rest of the story in 3d. Just a little heads-up :P It is a fantasy epic with a contemporary twist for the start. The first arc of the novel is set inside our modern world, but as the mysterious events around Calin intensifies, the hidden secrets in the world start to become more fantastical. The story follows Calin, a young orphan in search of answers. But, the answers he seeks will change his life and that of his friends forever, for the secrets that caused his situation have far greater ramifications than the small village of Lamb's Crest could have known. Remember to leave ratings and reviews. I'm quite interested in hearing your thoughts on the story. ;) Enjoy reading, Omri Hope

Medieval Terror
[Trickle! Trickle!] Blood… Pure unfiltered blood. Thick wetness of inhumane variety was drowning the contours of my defiled countenance with crimson slick. My warrior’s mien was brutally decorated with the vile viscera and entrails of the dead. Scattered all around me was a large pile of corpses floating in the bloodthirsty puddle of the afterlife. Accompanying my rest within this detestable domain was a rapacious array of lord Beelzebub’s kin. A swarm of black motile embodiment capable of aerial drifts made my bloody appearance barely visible. [Buzz! Buzz!] I was dead yet living, I could travel between the broken realms of existence and meddle with the vengeful souls. Such was possible by virtue of my life that had succumbed to the Lure of Enigma. The bizarre events that unfolded which brought me to this destitute phase of utter dysphoria was a mixture of tales that will leave a distasteful flavour of doleful buds on your tongue. If you wish to know more about my apocalyptic journey then feel free to turn the pages of my undying path. However, I must warn you, inquisitive readers. The Adventures of Rat Damon
12/20/2021: we're back to work! Rat Damon reflects on his life of adventuring, both before and after meeting Jack Jensen of earth. He recounts many of his experiences, both happy and sad. He regales you with the tales of power found and love lost. This is a side-adventure based on our The Other Guys series. Rat Damon makes an appearance in Heroes of Last Resort but is much more than a simple rat. What I will post here is going to be a lot rougher than Heroes as I am writing and posting as I go along, so my apologies go out to you in advance! However, I will revise as needed as we go along. As writing isn't my full-time gig, the posting of new material here will likely be a bit irregular and as far as what length this book will be, it remains to be seen. This was originally envisioned to be a 30-40k word novella but one never knows where the story will take me. Do not fret, book 2 in the series is well on its way, in fact much farther along than this novel(la?). We will see where Rat Damon takes, I guess! Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy this as much as I had writing it.
