Mo Ling didn't have to think too much to know which was the right decision in this situation.

If things continued like this, then not only would he keep inconveniencing others, but also end up dying in the process.

It really seemed like the better thing to do for both of them was for him to stay back, though it might seem selfish. 

Seeing that he was hesitant to answer, Lu Chen patted him and shook his head. "Don't worry about it, alright. I hope we will meet again in the future. Stay safe and keep this with you." 

He handed him some supplies stored in one of the goblin storage pouches and then once again walked over to the guard. "Sorry, brother. It looks like I will be leaving after all."

The guard narrowed his eyes and looked at Lu Chen, clearly no longer friendly, but he didn't say anything. "It's up to you. Good luck. Remember. You cannot come here again. And if you do, don't expect any friendly welcome."

"Ha Ha Ha. Alright. I will remember that." Lu Chen calmly smiled and walked out of the base. 

On his way from the building to the entrance, several guards gave him a surprised look but they didn't stop him.

Guan Ye who was still hanging around the facility caught sight of him immediately and silently joined him, still under the effect of stealth.

Only after the two of them were well outside the range of the camp, he came out of his stealth. 

"Fuck! I will never get used to this stealth skill!" Lu Chen stumbled a little as he was startled and already materialized an ice spear in his hand.

"Where is Mo Ling? What happened?" Guan Ye asked hurriedly but the two of them did not have any time to chat. Loud noises in the distance caught their attention.

"Isn't that coming from the hospital?"

They started running towards that area as fast as they could. They had only left the place for about an hour or so now and already the beasts had sniffed them out! He had gravely miscalculated the time that they had left.

Did this mean that they couldn't afford to rest at all? Did they have to constantly keep moving? Lu Chen shook his head and decided to think about that later.

He was worried about Su Yan and little white as this was the first time he had separated from the both of them, but as they moved closer, this worry only became worse.

Lu Chen could see the silhouettes of the several centipedes. Even though there wasn't an army of them, there were still too many and he could tell that their strength as well was definitely greater than a goblin.

"We need to go and help." Lu Chen shouted and the two of them ran ahead as fast as they could. 

A couple of seconds later, unexpectedly another group of people came in front of them and this was none other than their own team members.

"You guys are here? Then who is fighting with the centipedes?" Lu Chen clenched his fists angrily. Was it once again just the lone dog fighting against the horde of beasts?

He couldn't help but feel like he was letting out little white again and again and again, forcing her to carry all the burden by herself.

Seeing him there, Xu Meilin quickly squeezed herself out of the crowd and came to the front.

"Brother Chen! Alex is there. At first, there weren't these many worms, but sister used a grenade. I think that attracted more beasts?"

"Ahhh! I don't know what is happening. Brother Chen what should we do? I am worried about Alex."

"Alex also stayed back?" Lu Chen was surprised. "I will go there now. Why don't you guys just stay here? This distance is within reach." He was about to leave when he saw Geming standing there.

Before he could say anything, Geming himself raised his hand and explained. "It's a long story. I will explain it later." 

"Some of our camp men have also gone there. The situation should be under control soon."

Lu Chen shot a glance at him but nodded in agreement. 

"Stay here and don't go anywhere." He again reminded Xu Meilin and shot forward along with Guan Ye.

By now, almost the entire hospital building was demolished and the complete area was a mess. 

Lu Chen could see several people fighting in different spots, but he saw even more worms squirming up from the ground below.

Some of them seemed to have a handle on things, while the others were struggling. 

Lu Chen carefully observed the battle area and everything that was going on. 

Against such huge beasts especially in such numbers, no one should have had a chance but the worms were a bit slow in moving and attacking. Their speed seemed to be their weakness.

They were also spilling out some sort of viscous liquid everywhere which everyone was avoiding. These two seemed to be the key points of the fight.

He didn't hesitate any longer and quickly jumped into the fray. As for little white, he knew that the dog was probably somewhere in this madness.

And just as he had assumed, a few feet away from him, a black figure blurred and the worms in that area seemed to be going down faster than the worms in the other spots.

Lu Chen immediately went over there as he wanted to coordinate with her and help her in her fight. Guan Ye as well went over along with him.

"Little white! I am here!"

He saw her lonesome figure clawing down two centipedes that were coming at her at the same time. He immediately materialized two long ice spears and shot them towards the beasts.

These spears were long, pointed, and sharp, their tips glinting under the moonlight. 

Moreover, Lu Chen had hurled both the spears with a lot of strength and power packed in the attack. So they impaled the centipede's thick skin with ease.
