Outside the Zhu Cultivation Town!
A group of black-robed demons stood there, looking hesitantly at the plaque that was inscribed with the town’s name.
“Emperor Qing, are you sure? Are you sure that the Netherborn is here?” a demon asked Zhu Yan, who stood in front of them.
“Yes, just follow me!” Zhu Yan replied.
All the demons were speechless.
“What is wrong with you people?” Zhu Yan asked in frustration.
“Parlor Lord Zhu Hongyi commanded us not to step into the Zhu Cultivation Town under no circumstances!” one of them answered.
“My ancestral uncle? Why not?” Zhu Yan stared back at them.
“It seems like the descendants of his old friend live in this town. This is to prevent us from harming that man’s descendants!” a demon said.
“The descendants of his old friend? How come I know nothing about it? Don’t you worry, Zhu Hongyi is my ancestral uncle. I’m the one who requested you to come here. I will take full responsibility if anything happens; there’s nothing to fear! Don’t you want to consume the Netherborn?” Zhu Yan said.
Anticipation flashed in the demons’ eyes.
“Come, follow me!” Zhu Yan urged.
The demons nodded before following Zhu Yan as he entered the town.
------------
At the She Clan’s main courtyard!
Although She Tianba had seen his clan’s miserable state, he didn’t feel threatened by it. This bunch of people?Do you think that’s a big deal?Let me kill a bunch of you and the rest will back off!
That Wang Ke though, the bastard… He’s the one who really deserves dying for destroying my She Clan!
“Another second-hand flying sword? Why isn’t it smoking this time around?” said She Tianba to mock Wang Ke.
He thought that the latter’s flying sword was just a scrap like the previous one.
But the other cultivators didn’t understand the context.

“Second-hand? Did the flying sword strike fear into She Tianba and turn him into a dimwit? How can any flying sword be second-hand?” Many in the crowd were mocking him.
“Swoosh!”
A stream of light beamed toward one of the mockers and made a huge incision in his mouth; the powerful impact also sent the mocker flying backward.
‘Pffftt!”
A mouthful of blood sprayed out as that person crashed into the ground with a shriek.
“Wahhhh!”
“Flying sword!” All the cultivators were appalled. “A flying sword?”
They then saw a flying sword levitating near the person who had spoken rashly, as though it would slay that person at any moment.
Wang Ke’s flying sword was still by his side; whose flying sword is that?
“She... She Tianba has a flying sword too?” Everyone was aghast.
What’s a flying sword? Legend spoke of them, that only an Astral Infant Stage cultivator could forge a flying sword; it was supposed to be something that even Golden Core Stage cultivators from the immortal sects may not possess. The sword’s movement was controlled with the mind, the weapon being able to move with extreme speed and decapitate enemies from afar.
Killing Innate Stage cultivators would be as easy as squashing ants if a flying sword was mastered.
“It’s my turn to speak now. No more disruption, or else I’ll cut off your tongue!” She Tianba menaced.
All the cultivators were fear-stricken; none of them dared to chime in anymore. They could only turn their eyes toward Wang Ke, hoping that he could teach She Tianba a lesson.
“Wang Ke, how’s my flying sword compared to your second-hand one?” She Tianba taunted.
“Go!” Wang Ke shouted.
“Swoosh!”
Wang Ke’s flying sword was directly shot toward She Tianba.
“Hahaha, that second-hand flying sword is better than the last one. It’s not smoking! Ehhh? No, something’s off!” She Tianba cried out in horror.

Due to his recklessness, he didn't expect Wang Ke’s flying sword to travel that quickly; it was already in front of his face before he realized it.
“Swoosh!”
“Clang!”
She Tianba was fortunate that his advanced cultivation allowed him to summon his sword back with full force, which managed to deflect Wang Ke’s attack in time. The two swords pressed against each other in midair, right next to She Tianba.
“So risky! Wang Ke, you got a real flying sword this time? You are so damn lucky!” She Tianba commented vehemently.
It was so dangerous just now! I almost died! I shouldn’t be too reckless when dealing with Wang Ke.
“I’m already an immortal sect’s disciple. Isn’t it normal for me to have a flying sword? But you, She Tianba, how did you manage to get one?” Wang Ke asked with a grim face.
“Humph, I don’t care where you got your flying sword. Wang Ke, there’s no need for you to leave since you brought all these people to destroy my clan. I’ll make you stay, even if you’re already in an immortal sect! She Tianba threatened.
“She Tianba, have you forgotten what happened last time?” Wang Ke said.
“The last time? I was too careless last time, which will not happen again. Your previous flying sword was nice looking junk, but I’m sure this one is not! Do you still dare to detonate it?” She Tianba laughed provokingly.
“Why not?” Wang Ke replied.
And as he spoke, Wang Ke’s flying sword began beaming brightly in green.
“You… What are you doing? That’s a flying sword! A flying sword!” She Tianba screamed in shock.
“Boooooom!~~~~~~~~~~~”
A loud explosion reverberated throughout the entire Zhu Cultivation Town, along with a powerful shockwave that radiated outwards with She Clan’s manor as the epicenter; it felt like an earthquake.
“Ahhh!”
The explosion sent all the nearby cultivators flying and rolling backward uncontrollably.
At the center of the explosion—She Tianba was blasted off, spitting a mouthful of blood.
Countless cultivators were bewildered and red-eyed by such an action. Wang Ke detonated his flying sword? He detonated another one? That’s a flying sword! It’s something all cultivators in the immortal sects seek after! And he detonated it just like that?
That was something that a person eager to cultivate was completely unable to comprehend.
It’s just a fight; was there a need to be that wasteful?
Of course, he had to! Wang Ke was only at Innate Stage Level Two; She Tianba was much more powerful than him and both were using flying swords. In this case, the amount of essence Qi would determine the final victor; it was obvious that Wang Ke was disadvantaged.
He had to do something drastic, or else She Tianba would simply overpower him. He would have suffered a greater loss if he ended up losing his flying sword and failing to rescue Princess Youyue in the end.
His heart was also bleeding after detonating his flying sword! Still, all of it was worth it if that would grant him victory!
The two flying swords were right next to She Tianba, and the impact left the latter badly injured. He crashed into the ground while vomiting blood.
She Tianba was unable to comprehend what had happened. He was even willing to worship such an invaluable treasure like the way he worshiped his ancestor… But Wang Ke detonated it, just like that? Damn, is being poor limiting my imagination? Why!?
Wang Ke’s flying sword exploded into pieces. She Tianba was in bad shape, yet he was still alive, and his flying sword was still in good condition.

An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
