At Yellowstone National Park
3rd POV
A majestic view of river surrounded by luscious green trees is shown .
Grandpa Max has just finished setting up the RV.
" Ah , A time for relaxation for the great out doors " Grandpa Max says.
" It sure is" Gwen replied
Both he and Gwen seem happy to be there.
" Omnitrix Voice command : access national GPS for nearest burger joint."
Ben, on the other hand, would rather be somewhere else.
" You know Yellowstone happens to be one of the coolest places around. Just hang out and appreciate it ", Gwen states .
" Gwen's right ," Max replied, " We can live right of the land!" he says this as he finds and eats a worm that is under a log.
Not happy with Max's idea of dinner, Ben tries to transform into XLR8 in order to get a burger.
" Yeeeaaahh .... Nope . Get me one with chilli fries ."
Gwen opts to help this once.
{Alert: Alien transformation needed. Omnitrix Override }
" What-"
SHOOOOM!
Instead of transforming Ben into a recognizable alien, the Omnitrix transforms Ben into an recently unused alien form : Cannonbolt.
There was different color scheme for the legs, which sported a black pants-like design. His finger claws were long and outlined in metallic grey. Cannonbolt's eyes were closer to his shoulder armor, the Omnitrix dial safely on his c.h.e.s.t.
" Huh. New alien ? Wait, what did it mean transformation needed ? " Gwen questioned once she got over the new development.
Again a cosmic interruption happens.
BOOOM
A meteor flies overhead and crashes a short distance away. Cannonbolt turns in the direction of the crash and ends up covered in a hard shell and begins rolling towards the crash site.
At the crash site, the meteor begins to crack apart as the three arrive. It breaks apart to reveal a large, reddish, tick-like alien within.

A ship arrives shortly after and three aliens exit the ship riding platforms that fly through the use of an energy ball positioned directly below them.
The first is a tall, pale-skinned alien with six tentacle-like feet. The second is shorter with six arms and yellow skin.
He can apparently hear and understand what the giant tick is saying, though it never makes any noise resembling speech.
The aliens are worshippers of the giant tick, referring to it as the "Great One" and claim that it's here to destroy the planet. They also identify Cannonbolt as an Arburian Pelarota, whose home planet has already been destroyed about a week ago. Gwen tells Cannonbolt that it is better now that they know about what he is. Apparently, the Great One will devour the planet from the inside out, destroying it. As the Great One begins the process of devouring the planet.
'Yeah, not gonna happen. '
By this point, the Great One has poisoned much of Yellowstone, converting the landscape into a decayed wasteland with gray tentacles sticking out of the ground. The tentacles attack the trio and attempt to drag them underground. Luckily, Ben transforms into Stinkfly and rescues Max and Gwen. He then flies off with them.
As he flies them over the park, they pass by the Old Faithful geyser, which now resembles a giant zit that is about to burst. At the same time, the yellow worshiper tells his friends that the Great One would like them to witness his power, which happens to be the geyser. They meet Stinkfly along the way, this time unsure of what he is. Stinkfly drops Max and Gwen off so he can fight the worshippers. He plugs the geyser as he intercepts them, which they aren't happy about. He does well at first, dodging their attacks easily and managing to make them lose track of him then attacks them with a combination of XLR8, Fourarms and Heatblast.

With the worshippers out of commission, Ben turns his attention to the Great One, which has grown substantially in the short time since it began its feeding.
SHOOOOM!
SHOOOOM!
SHOOOOM!
SHOOOOM!
One after another, Ben transforms into Four Arms, Heatblast, Wildmutt, XLR8, Diamondhead, Ghostfreak, Upgrade and Ripjaws in order to defeat it, all failing.
As they think the Great One, it begins to shed, revealing a yellow shell underneath its reddish exterior. Several large, purple pores also push their way out of the shell, spitting acid at random intervals. The falling pieces of shell almost crush Ben, Gwen and Max. With no options left, Gwen tells Ben to use Cannonbolt.
WHOOSH !
Upon seeing Cannonbolt again, the worshippers come back and attack him. Cannonbolt is able to avoid them by rolling away. As they fire on him, several of the worshippers hit the Great One. Their attacks bounce off of its shell, giving Max the idea to use the shell pieces as shields. The shell pieces work well, blocking the lasers and the acid releases from the Great One, but they are eventually trapped in a pit made by the acid. Just before they are finished off by the worshippers, Cannonbolt jumps in to save them, causing the worshippers' attacks to bounce harmlessly off of his shell. Noticing this, Cannonbolt uses it to his advantage, bouncing their attacks back at them and knocking them out.
With the worshippers once again out of the picture, Cannonbolt turns on the Great One. His attacks are ineffective, but the pores on the Great One allow him to attack it from the inside. Once inside it, he bounces around its body, destroying its internal organs. It then dies in an explosion of purple slime.
Seeing that which they once worshiped destroyed, the worshippers turn to Cannonbolt for a new thing to worship. Gwen comments on their loyalty. Cannonbolt then reverts back into Ben telling them to depart with disgust. They depart. Shortly after they leave, the landscape returns to its normal state, though why it does so is unknown. After all the excitement, Ben finally thinks that some time outdoors will be good for him, especially since there's no mess to clean up. Unfortunately for him, Grandpa Max's RV is still covered in the Great One's slime .
' Gross.'

What do you wish for?
Norman hated his life. His peers ignored and bullied him. His mother nagged. His father was never home. Norman desperately wished for a miracle, but his prayers went unanswered. Until one night. **************************************** Note: This story is going to be very short. I would recommend reading it all at once. This story started out as a challenge I set for myself. I've recently felt bogged down because of the need to write more. That's why each chapter will be only 300 words long. Exactly 300 words long. At this point, I've pretty much written the whole thing, so I'm very confident that there will only be eight chapters.

For Grass and Glory
Being old is difficult. But losing the love of your life to natural selection and being left in the dirt is even harder. Join Walton in his final journey as he figures out if his principals are just as important when there is nothing left to lose. Combating hypocrisy, youth, bad diet practises and a general lack of respect towards humanity, Walton's struggles are the true adventure of the everyday man. A story about unlikely friendship, being old, unexpected beauty, and the obsession of kicking a round leather ball in the best way possible. A story about a new world, and its possibilities. A story about the grass, and let us hope, a small bit of glory? Author note: This is a project of mine I started in 2016 and recently been writing for again. Writing for me is something I love to do, but can't always find the time for. This is also the reason I have not finished (or come close to) Ethereal Space yet. I get distracted. I started this novel intending to create something else, to break a bit with the current go to's story wise in the litRPG or virtual reality communities. So, this is my attempt at "Something different" I would love feedback or just your general opinion. But most of all, I hope it entertains. Enjoy!

The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.
