First , no harem. No. Just .... No. I trying to make a good story , that is already difficult enough as it is without trying to juggle multiple relationsh.i.p.s with conflicting characters.

Secondly, some of the story retcons from canon that don't make sense ( looking at you omniverse ) are changed for the sake of the story , such as Osmosians being actual aliens and Devan being real .
