《Surviving Zombies One Day At Time》Chapter 27 - 27. Her other power

As the whole bunch of trucks left back home small group of people hid in one of the sh.i.p.s and waited the night. Before entering the ship Jenny smeared some of her blood on it and went to sleep.
The rest of the people just sat down and calmly waited. Mike and Mina left with the rest so they wouldn't open any suspicions but Jennt stayed back with a group of people with powers.
She didn't use her powers as she wanted to see the change. And the reason, why her suspicions went highwire, was the feeling as something changed ins surrounding and was pulling her out.
The sound of trucks could be heard as the group of people jumped out and started cursing.
''They took all the weapons and food. Boss, what shall we do now?''
''The boats were checked as well. But no matter how many trucks they had, I am sure they didn't take all away. check the containers!'' The voice sounded quite rushed.
After a while, they heard an explanation. ''Boss. Ther are few containers in the back that are closed. They probably couldn't get trough to form other ones. I think if they took the time to move these they would waste their time...''
''Yeah, that is reason probably that they just packed the ones that were easier to come. Quickly. Check what is inside!''
''One has some dried noodles and another one has finished meals. It's good enough for us to eat for a while!''
''What about others in the shelter?''
''Shelter? What shelter? Can we feed all those people with these few packs? Don't be ridiculous. We will take a few females with us and leave that place. Let us find a safe house somewhere in the city. Quickly, get the food...''

Then sounds of packing and trucks could be heard and soon again silence.
One of the girls wanted to say something but Jenny pressed a finger on her mouth. ''Listen...''
Sound of uneven steps could be heard and as they peeked through the window they saw a huge amount of zombies passing them in an unsteady manner. But the interesting thing was that few of them walked around and looked just normal.
Soon one of them stopped and let others go. It hissed something and all those that looked human gathered together and waited for thousands of zombies to pass them.
Zombies actually were going the way trucks left, after the smell of humans. Jenny's heart squeezed. All those humans in the shelter...
But her eyes change direction towards the group of zombies that stood there and waited. As the last zombie was already far away from their ship, zombies turned their heads towards them and stepped forward.
Jenny sighed and stood up, scaring everyone in the group.
''Where are you going?'' They were alarmed.
''Stay here. They won't harm me. Please trust me.'' Jenny patted their hands and somehow they could feel confidence in her voice.
As she went down the railing her heart started to beat like crazy but she still walked closer and closer to the rotting corpses that waited for her. When she stopped they got closer a bit as well.
''You are the one they spoke off?'' On of the corpses came closer and looked at her with one eye as the other seemingly was stripped out his face.
''I have no idea who and what was spoken about me, but are you one of those zombies with consciousness?'' She looked at them with worry. ''Is it possible, maybe to turn you back into normal people?''

The zombies shook their heads. ''Even if you turn us we would die. We are dead already for weeks. Only the virus is keeping us 'alive'. We can't kill all those zombies without weapons. Is it possible to get some so we can fight? We will try to kill as many as possible. It seems for conscious zombies the lifeline is shorter and not even power stones can help us. So for us not to waste this time, we chose to fight on the side of humanity. But killing them one by one with hands is too long.''
Jenny nodded. ''Two sh.i.p.s further I left a bunch of weapons in a few caskets and ammo. You can use that. If you use it all please come to the city and I will give the order to resupply you again. But for now, get that..fast. I have a favor to ask you all. Can you bring some of the blood to save those people in the shelter? If it's possible, bring them to town. There they will be in safety. The shield helps to separate those that are already contaminated from those that aren't. Hurry.''
She pointed at the ship and then at nearby cars. ''I am sure you know how to use these. Go and take a couple of them.'' She was about to leave when one question popped up. ''How come you don't feel disgusted by my smell?''
The one without eye blinked. ''Our smell became stronger after we ate black crystals. But at the same time, we can loacate humans miles away. Your smell is indeed disgusting, but we coudl smell those near you. For normal zombies, that smell is excruciating. But for us, it gives us... some sort of headache. But we can still ahndle it. You need to raise yoru powers more as the zombies and creatures became stronger as well.''
''Black crystals. I heard about them. Is it possible to bring me some? Maybe they are the answer to power rise.'' This was the second time Jenny heard about black crystals.
One of the women took out a couple of balc crystals from her pocket. ''I save d these for late as I hoped to meet my family. But when I think about it, it is better I let them be dead. If they remember how they killed humans, I think that would be too devious to do. Try using these. We will bring more if we see it. Black crystals appear randomly.''
Jenny took the crystals and put them into her pocket. ''Thank you. I wish I could do anything for you all.''
They shook their heads and saw the others running back with a bunch of guns and a whole basket of bullets. The woman sat down on weel and chuckled at the other with a lipless smile. ''I have both eyes. You guys shoot.''
He rolled the eye and replied. ''If we go by that logic you should shoot as you have both eyes.''
The strange thing was that she spoke. Actually as she spoke with them, the others stood there in bafflement. The sounds she released were the same as those half-dead ones...

He began walking over to me. This is it. I'm dead. I saw his shoes come into my view as I was looking down, hair covering my face. "Look at me." He growled out. I started to cry, too afraid to look.
