The next couple of days Jenny just escaped her place as the work on her cover went on. She went with Mina and her family to the edge of town to help build the wall. At first, they just stalked things, later they started building real walls.

After four days passed and the fifth day approached, Mike told them all to gather around and announced to everyone the next day's trip." So, we need drivers and helpers. The more people come, the more we will be able to scavenge. If there is a lot of people, we will take a few buses. Small children, pregnant ladies and elders will stay in the inner city. I will lock the shield just for the case outer shield fails or weird people try to make trouble. The inner city is a safe place, so you all will be fine."

Everyone sighed in relief and so they decided that most of them will join the next day. After all, they will need peace of mind if they leave here elderly and children all by themselves.

The moment all of them went into an inner circle the shield became almost as solid as glass and no one could enter or leave. Inside the inner city were a huge playground, park, enough food and now even safety. As they all knew that nothing can harm them they comfortably greeted everyone.

As the people slowly left with the busses and trucks the premises of the city few people that were just waiting for that moment sneakily entered the city from the other side. ''I told you that this place will be almost empty when they leave. We can take it over as no one watches now.'' Rat faced man sneered as he realized that there were no guards or any other grown ups.

''All should be careful. That man, Mike is not a simpleton. If you think he left the city without even one guard then you must be really foolish. Let's wait for the backup.'' The big man left his car and entered the nearby house. he sat down by the window and looked at the outside.

A woman that had just tiny dress on her body snuggled in his arms. "But honey, you have powers as well. This city is safest place. If we take it over, you can be the king here."

He pushed her off his l.a.p. "I am not that foolish. I do have powers, but our Boss is the one with real powers. If I even think about taking his place I can dig my grave right now."

She was unreconciled but all she could do is to give up, for now. "But isn't that the reason why we are here?"

From door a slight snicker could be heard. "Only brainless woman like you would think so stupidly. What do you think is this shield if not power. If we take over the town by force this town could turn into any other town. What is the point of us taking over it."

She blinked at him. "So the town protection is from that Mike. If we capture him..."

The big man almost felt his vein popping. "Then, tell me smart one, WHAT is his Power?"

"Shield? Wait, does that mean we have no means to fight him?" She was now a bit taken aback. "Then what is the point for us to be acting this sneaky?"

"Boss said if they can't protect their own how can they even fight the monsters. " The big man sat down while rat faced man scrunched his bushy eyebrows.

"So we didn't come here to loot ?" He applied for this mission only because of that. "Then there is no point for me coming with you people.

The group of men just looked at him coldly. "Then ... wanna stay here by yourself? "

The rat face just pulled in his neck and stood grudgingly in the corner. Everyone stood silently until two people came through the door with news. As much we could see, the central part seemed to be surrounded with one more layer of shield. I could see children running around and elderly strolling. By my information, all their supplies are there. This is an outer city. In that inner part, there is real power. "

Everyone stood up and then rushed to their cars. Soon they could see a huge shield surrounding mid of town, just like that man said. Few elder people saw them and then motioned at their wrists. Soon children brought some pen and paper and wrote. "Boss Mike will be back in the evening, wait until then. There is a restaurant down the street that has some food in their freezers. Eat it."

The fast man pressed his hands to the outer shield and motioned to children to run away, but they just stared at him and shook their heads. One of the children started writing again. "If you shoot the bullet will bounce off, it can harm one of your people, Boss tried it before." They were completely sure about the safety of the shield but seeing them stubbornly still trying they just shrugged and sat down nearby and commented their actions. There was an older pair of people that tried to shake their heads but they didn't listen. On the end, even those elders gave up and just continued their walk leisurely.

Looking at their calm reaction rat face became angry, took out his gun and shot. The strange thing happened. A sigh could be heard from a man. "Should I just kill you all or should I pity you. This shield can be used as a weapon to surround you and suffocate your stupidity."

The big man could see the bullet flying still but then turning around and flying straight trough rat faced forehead. Cleanly. "I killed this man as a warning. Rest of you should just sit still until we come back."

"My boss actually sent us to check the safety of the city. Sorry for acting up. We have many people in the shelter but it has old installations and is not very safe. We are looking for a safer place. It is easy to enter the outer shield so we were worried that other things might enter as well." The big man just stood there nervously waiting for an answer.

"Idiots. You could have just ask. We expected someone trying to get in when we were not home. Later on, we will harden the outer shield as well. Its still morning so it will be easier and faster to travel. Quickly transfer the people to the city. The evolution of all kinds of creatures started, including zombies. You must come into safety now. Today! Hurry and pick up your people." His words were a sign that he really meant that.

Suddenly a man appeared behind the one and got closer to the shield. ''I am head of a shelter. My name is Luke Cole. Can we bring the people now?"

"I just told the other person now. If you want to save your people, bring them in today. And do not go trough grasses or bushes. The plant world changed as well. You should not stop not even to piss on your way here. Hurry, you have not much time." His voice is calm but still has an urgency in it.

"Could you please explain the urgency?" Luke Cole was surprised at the way he asked him.

"As you can see we have a shield that protects us. But still, we are getting attacked by new zombies. They are faster, stronger and there are few that have powers as well. That means that they evolved and are now an even bigger threats to humans. Saving more people is actually our primary task. Hurry. I can't talk anymore as we have a situation over here. Do as I told you if you want those people to survive. Hurry. By night will be hard to survive, trust me." Then it was silence and as it seems the connection broke off.
