《A New World, an immersive game experience》Chapter 389: Chaos in chat

While everyone was still stunned, Eldrian sent out his icicles. One aimed at the person who had survived the surprise attack, while sending the other at the barbarian. It took the opponents just a moment to overcome their shock, yet that was enough for them to miss the time to dodge fully.
Still, they tried. The one in plate armor lifted his shield and lost sight of the icicle as he did. The result, the icicle circling his shield and hitting his neck. Luckily for him, Eldrian couldn't see behind the shield either, as such the gorget (Neckpiece) shattered the spell. Still, the event sent chills through his body as he realized how close to dying he had been.
As for the barbarian, Eldrian couldn't dual cast and aim the spells perfectly just yet. Especially over such a long distance and with the targets also being far apart.
He had focused more on the armored opponent, knowing just how tricky it can be to deal with them. As such, the barbarian jumping to the side had saved his life. A mix of blood and water was now flowing from his shoulder. The icicle nearly having rendered his arm useless.
However, the wound was not that big as the icicles were but as large as a finger. Pulling it, the wound was quickly closed as one of the other players cast Therapeia on him.
'I really need to learn some offensive Tier 3 spells,' Eldrian thought as he saw his follow-up attack having also failed. He didn't know if Tier 3 would even do the job of piercing through armor, but he knew Tier 2 couldn't achieve that.
Through all this, the other members of Phoenix hadn't stayed idle. An arrow soon flew through the air and hit the barbarian before he could fully recover. Taking a step back he broke the arrow of but found a vicious attack coming for him before he could recover.

Jumping in the air, Judith placed all her strength and weight into this attack, even using her skirt's special ability. The barbarian managed to bring his sword to block the attack, however, he folded like a sapling before the attack. His arms, legs, back, all breaking from the impact as his sword became stuck in his own chest.
Just a second after Judith's attack, Nikki also charged in and aimed for the guy in plate armor while Therdul was a few meters behind.
Seeing all this Eldrian decided to stay where he was and just rain down spells on their opponents. Also sending the occasional rejuvenation and healing to his teammates where they needed it. The enemies were so overwhelmed that no one even had time to try and pick him off.
Attacked from the front, the side (Zyviss), and above, Ringless did not manage to defend for long. Losing two of their members at the start of the fight had also certainly not been good for their morale and even worse for their ability to fight back.
"Haha!" Laughing merrily, Therdul turned to look at the others, taking his helmet off to reveal his wide smile. "That was freaking awesome! And what an opening move that was!"
"Indeed," The others nodded and all turned to look at Eldrian who was again sitting on the outcrop. Legs over the edge, overviewing the battle.
In the end, their opponents had managed to bring Judith down as well as Nikki, no one else had died. Naturally, this result had piqued the interest of many viewers.
{Why have I never heard of this team before?}
{They don't stream, so naturally we wouldn't have known them. My question is rather who that elf is and how he can use spells like that.}
{Wait, isn't that...}
{You're right. I remember I read a forum written by a guy called Haru detailing how to learn magic as a High Elf. It must be him!}

{Shit! Are you serious? Someone actually managed to play that crazy race?}
{...} Quickly the focus of the chat drifter onto who this 'Haru' was and how he had managed to do what he had just done. With many players and especially guild leaders trying to figure it out.
While guilds were still in their infancy, with only Phoenix Division being above level 1, they were quickly gaining importance. Especially as the players in the empires started doing more quests due to being stuck in their Tier. Nearly half of the players have reached Tier 3 by now.
The most shocking thing to all these players was that Eldrian was actually a High Elf.
By now, less than 200 players were still attempting to learn magic as a High Elf. Yet, most of them were still stuck trying to feel their mana. This was a massive disappointment of Miracle's and why they were looking for other players like Eldrian so passionately. And the true reason behind the tourney.
Naturally, the team had no idea the chaos that their match had caused. They were used to having no viewers, returning to Elizabeth's virtual home they all burst out in celebration.
Everyone's grievance over Eldrian's lack of interest disappearing after how he had basically handed them the win. When they heard that he had actually really tried to make himself shoes they found it beyond hilarious.
Especially when he explained, "When I dropped them I could feel that they were still part of the spell, Vrachos. I could still connect to them and when I did I realized I could shoot them out."
This not being planned left them stunned and then led to a long bout of laughter. When Eldrian excused himself no one thought of pressuring him to join their quest. They all realized that the worst thing they could do was piss him off and have him leave them.
Even if he didn't actively do anything for the guild, just having him there was already a bonus. Elizabeth especially started wondering how she could make use of this to advertise their guild to players after realizing that Ringless had supplied them with viewers.
She wasn't planning on getting people from other kingdoms, let alone other empires. However, having everyone in Taurus and later everyone in Phallos join Phoenix Division would be amazing.
'This might actually lead to a job.' She thought as she started planning out how she could start using game resources to support herself. Like most in the game, she had a day job. It was a large reason why doing quests were so hard for them.
They only had so much time they could play (Night/sleeping hours). Everyone also didn't have the same time free due to family or work shifts. Thus why getting even 20 people for 1 quest was often an achievement.
Elizabeth quickly tried to do the math of how much gold she would need to be able to switch over, only to quickly drop it as she realized it was an insane amount. She would need 10 gold to cover her basic needs every month, 15 if she wished to actually live, and 20 to actually achieve what she was getting from her job. (Yes, she does not make much, but she is also still very young. Just 23.)
Needless to say, the guild did not even have 1 gold laying around.
