《A New World, an immersive game experience》Chapter 70: Back to Boran's shop

A short while later the girl came back with a surprisingly young man following her.
"Papa, this is the person I told you about." The girl said, pointing towards Eldrian.
"Don't point Lecksie, it isn't polite." The guy said, turning towards Eldrian before continuing, "I heard you want to order some custom clothes."
"Yes, I am a Chosen and the fashion here is a bit... Too much." Eldrian answered, trying to figure out how old the guy was. He seemed far too young to have a child.
"Great, let's go to the back." The guy said, turning around and heading back to where he came from. Eldrian followed, the guy continued saying, "I am Julius by the way."
"Haru." Eldrian replied shortly while following the guy. Soon they came to a separate room from the shop, this room being mostly empty with a few mirrors placed against the walls.
"This is our measure room, as well as where customers can take a look at how the clothes fit them." Julius explained, Lecksie having left them to wait for new customers at the door.
"Now, what type of clothes do you want?"
"I don't really know, I am planning to do a lot of blacksmithing soon."
"You should get most of the protective gear at a smithy, sorry we don't do protective clothes."
"Ah no, that is fine. I just want comfortable clothing for everyday wear. Let me try and explain..." Eldrian started explaining to Julius what types of clothes he wanted.
Eldrian's aim was to get a few sets that fit in with the time era, but he also wanted to get some more comfortable clothes. The clothes he had first spawned in were very basic, but they fit nicely and didn't constrict him. Most of the clothes in the shop weren't basic, having random additions on the clothes -which were meant to make them look better. But Eldrian only found these additions to be an eyesore.

After around 20 minutes of talking Julius finally seemed to grasp what Eldrian wanted. Making a few drawings he presented them to Eldrian, Eldrian was really impressed with the end result.
The clothing pieces he had explained to Julius were jeans, cargo shorts, a normal T-shirt and lastly a jacket. Julius had managed to draw them very closely to what Eldrian had in mind making him quite happy.
Other than two of each Eldrian also asked for some real underwear, most of the underwear in the shop being baggy briefs -undergarments. He hadn't even realized about them until he took a bath. After which he had now been constantly irritated by massive difference.
Lastly, he had also ordered a set of what was considered formal wear, and a semi-formal one too.
All in all it came down to around 14 silvers, the formal wear costing 10 silvers on its own and the semi-formal costing an entire silver. Eldrian grimaces when he saw how expensive the frilly clothes were, yet he still decided to buy them in the end.
Having set his order Julius told him to come back in at least three days, so Eldrian set out. A little sad that he couldn't get a normal shirt, as he was now going to go visit Boran and likely start blacksmithing.
Following the map Eldrian found Boran's place after 15 minutes of walking. Entering the shop he decided to first do some window shopping. Unfortunately he found that he couldn't equip the weapons on display, but he could still look at them. Yet this meant he couldn't see their stats, making him yearn to master magic.
None of the weapons in the store was under 50 silver, with most being around 1 gold. Shaking his head Eldrian quickly became discouraged from buying anything. Yet he still enjoyed looking at the nice designs of all the weapons, spending around 20 minutes just looking.
Finally he headed to the counter, the young lady behind it asking, "How can I help you?"

She was an average looking girl with light brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing common cotton clothing which most normal people wore, the clothes not flattering at all. She didn't look over 16, yet she seemed mature to Eldrian.
'Guess it is because she is working already.' Eldrian thought while recollecting his thoughts.
A few seconds later Eldrian asked, "Can you tell Boran that someone is here to see him?" He hoped that Boran wouldn't be too mad that he hadn't come visit during the last week. Also hoping that he could still become an apprentice here.
"Um..." The girl let out in uncertainty. "Who should I say is looking for him?" She asked, not wanting to be the target of Boran's anger. She knew he hated it when people interrupted him while he was working, and was hoping that the guy in front of her would get the message.
"Ah sorry, I'm Haru. I was here with Vivian last time." Eldrian replied, hoping it would make her less scared. She currently looked like she was waiting for death.
"Ah Vivian! Really? I don't think she would be your friend." The girl said, staring at Eldrian's belly.
'I need to get in shape, for god's sake.' Eldrian complained, trying to not let loose on the poor girl.
"I am, so can you please go tell Boran that I am here?"
"Sure..." The girl hesitated as she turned around and headed through one of the doors. She knew all of Boran's friends and she had never met this guy before. She felt certain she would remember a chubby elf. Due to this she was expecting Boran to go full out on the poor guy.
"Is the lazy slacker finally here!" A deep voice carried through the doors and walls. "About damn time!"
The door was suddenly opened again, the girl from before diving to the side so as not to be crushed by Boran.
"What on Gaia took you so long!" Boran shouted as he exited the door, having slapped it out of his way when it started closing, causing the poor girl to have to dive to not get hit by it. The door smacking hard against the wall instead.
"Sorry Boran. I got so absorbed in training that the time just flew past. Then I went and joined that expedition." Eldrian rubbed his head as he looked at Boran, seeing that he wasn't angry. More it looked like Boran was shocked.
"Did you really join that mission. I heard it went really bad."
"Yeah, it did."
"Is that why you are in a robe?"
"Kinda, Dave gave this to me. My shirt was ruined in the fight. Heck I died, so can't really expect it to be in good shape."
Hearing this Boran's eyes popped open in surprise. "The hell! What happened? How did you die?"
"Ah..." Caught off guard by Boran's offensiveness Eldrian took some time to gather his thoughts before he started explaining what happened.
While he explained what happened Boran had asked the girl to go get one of his shirts. Having said that Eldrian wouldn't be able to do shit inside a robe. Luckily Eldrian had worn his pants so he didn't need to borrow that too.
After recounting everything Eldrian waited for Boran to reply. He had changed after the girl had brought him a shirt, not having stopped explaining as he did.
"You did good kid." He finally said.
"Thanks, I guess."
"No, you did really good. I am glad to heard Vivian is doing alright. I was quite worried after hearing the rumors. But I couldn't bring myself to go visit Arthur."
Eldrian simply stayed quiet, not knowing what to say. After a few minutes Boran seemed to come out of his thought.
"Alright, let's get to work then!" Boran headed back through the door, Eldrian following.

None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
