《No Second Chances: The Beginning Of The End》Chapter 12 - 9: Genetic Prodigy.

Several years ago. "The mother passed away while giving birth. The TDW-A01 was successfully adopted by the child's body. It seems the DNA naturally accepted the modification with the help of the mother cells regeneration. Was Birth the key to natural adaption and evolution? Or was it the genes of a ruler? More research is required" -A scientist in the genetics department of the government said. "The code name of the child will be: Victoria's Model No.1: Sinns" -The Scientist added while writing in a notebook.
7 years later. "VM No.1: Sinns hasn't shown signs of cell degeneration or Hypertrophy presented on infected individuals in their advanced stage, instead, the cells quickly adapt and overcome any situation or disease; Her doll aspect is attributed to this ability which doesn't stop producing lactic acid, muscles don't grow but strength greatly increases with standard training. When extracted, the blood losses its properties avoiding further studies and experimentation. Many other attempts to recreate VM No.1 ended in failure. The TDW-A01 rejected their hosts by decomposing their cells" -The scientist said while recording and writing down more notes.
10 years later. "Sinns have improved in her training, slowly she is becoming as strong as an average hero. The research team has developed the perfect weapon for her, a mechanical battle-ax with a magic-enhanced blade, the blade is able to separate into pieces to become larger and uncover a movable barrel with armor-piercing ammunition. Sinns easily wields the Axe and excels at close and medium-range combat. Also, her behavior is calm and cold and has a high interest in the current world and the guilds" -The scientist recorded in a voice recorder.
A year later, on the current date. "Sinns finally reached the final stage of development given by the virus, right now she is stronger than any known infected and has the same destruction capacity of any AMHAR unit, her battle-ax was modified and now it weights more in order to make her blows stronger. As a scientist, I couldn't be more proud and excited, but as her caretaker, I'm worried about what could happen to her" -The Scientist recorded. "Today is her birthday and she got her first mission. It was an emergency and the AMHAR units are in maintenance, so this is an opportunity for her to have contact with the world outside these walls. It may be pointless but I pray for her well-being" -The scientist added.

A quadcopter quickly departed from the military base carrying the Battle-ax attached to a cargo-holding cable. "Estimated time to arrive: 2 to 3 hours" -The pilot said while turning towards the coordinates.
This is the first time I will fight outside the base... I hope the world is as interesting as Otto has told me all this time -Sinns Thought while looking through the quadcopter's glass.
It was almost time to arrive at the place and a dense mist surrounded the Quadcopter. "We are experiencing some difficulties, we cannot spot a landing point and there is an Abomination, VM No.1 it is your turn to control the situation" -The co-pilot said to Sinns.
The helicopter was suspending in the air and Sinns jumped out of it, the battle-ax was also released and Sinns was able to grab it before colliding against the Abomination while it jumped.
Gracefully, Sinns lands in front of the Leader of the team and prepared herself to fight. The abomination took a step forwards before sprinting towards Sinns, quickly picking up speed for a devastating single blow. Sinns prepared the ax to shoot when the abomination was close enough. The Axe released two magnetic locks, then a magnetic field of 3 square meters controlled the detachable pieces, enlarging the total size of the weapon and revealing the barrel.
Before the Abomination could get closer to Sinns, she shoot and knocked it down, the shoot had some recoil which made her step back a bit. On the other hand, the abomination seemed to be stunned by the impact, Sinns seized the opportunity and jumped to create momentum to cut through the Infected's hardened skin.
Sinns easily sliced off one of the arms of the abomination. Blood splattered around it, Sinns made another move and cut the head horizontally. Nat, Gree, Phill, and Chronos were processing what just happened in silence and with expressions of disbelief. Sinns saved them from imminent death in hands of that monster.
Sinns turned towards the giant beast and sliced the foot which was stepping on one of the turrets. The giant kneeled down in pain and Sinns shoot inside the wound, severing the leg and making the beast fall. The mist started to fade away and the quadcopter landed a few meters away from the road. "VM no. 1, we got orders to tell you to escort the convoy from now on" -The pilot said.

Meanwhile, everyone got their attention towards the girl who took down the strongest infected in the zone, Gree managed to sneak on the research truck to release her virus in the terminal.
Chronos curiosity carried him towards the Abomination's corpse. Slowly, Cronos realized there were some weird aspects on the abomination, it was familiar to him. Nat walked towards him and also realized something in the corpse. The lower part of the severed head had simian aspects. "Just like the tour guide..." -Nat said to herself but Chronos could hear her.
"Thank you for coming #1, you saved the remaining of the convoy. Sadly, the mission will last less than expected due to this sudden attack" -The leader of the soldiers said.
The remaining soldiers and researchers took samples from the abomination and the giant beast.
The weapon that the girl wields looks like something Grace used to research -Phill thought while walking towards the car.
Gree was still uploading the virus in the vehicle. "This is taking more than I expected" -She muttered.
The corpses and the rest of the destroyed vehicles were successfully retired from the road after a couple of hours, then the convoy continued its normal route to complete the mission.
Sinns had to go on top of the provision's truck since it was the one with the most weight capacity and the battle-ax was too heavy for the rest of the vehicles.
"Hey Gree...isn't her-" -Phill whispered before being interrupted.
"The perfect biological weapon, Victoria's Model no.1: Sinns" -Gree also whispered, almost muttering. "Who would have thought she would be this powerful in 6 years" -She continued.
"Do you guys know her?" -Nat asked innocently.
"Not really, we have only heard about her" -Phill lied.
Chronos was immersed in his thoughts while looking through the window. This request was way tougher than expected, if it was not because of that girl, we would be dead by now -Chronos thought while he gritted his teeth.
"The only reason we live is that we are lucky, but we need to improve to become stronger" -Phill said in a serious tone. "At least now we know Gree's inventions and strong enough to kill a weakened screamer" -He continued.
Magnetic weapons are not as powerful when the ammunition is not magical-enhanced... -Gree thought as an excuse.
"But the infected could disable magic as we saw with the soldiers' ammunition" -Chronos countered. The only weapons that could affect the screamer were the heavy cannon of the turret and Gree's inventions" -He concluded.
The convoy continued the mission until they finally arrived at the camp where the wounded were treated. Almost every soldier in the camp was badly wounded or dead. Nat saw a report on one of the tables of the camp. "And several soldiers died because of the large groups of infected which had extremely dangerous beasts leading them" -Nat said as she was reading.
Chronos and Phill heard her. "I hope we just meet them a while ago, we are not prepared for another assault of those things" -Phill said.
It is true...our weapons are low in ammunition and I doubt the soldiers would lend us theirs, plus, it would be useless against an advanced infected like the Screamer or the Abomination -Chronos thought.
Sinns suddenly appears on his mind, Chronos tried to detail her movements while fighting with such a heavy weapon. Can I imitate it? Can I move like her only using my blades? -Chronos kept thinking.
Meanwhile, Gree was walking towards the group of soldiers who were treating the wounded. "So here is where the mission ends, right?" -She asked.
"Yes, but as you may know, the damages and casualties will be discounted from the reward, the job was to protect the whole convoy from being destroyed" -the Soldier explained. "What is left from the reward will be sent to your account in the guild" -He continued.
Gree just limited herself to only listen and nod. Soon, I won't have to do any request concerning the guild -She thought with a smile while still nodding, then she went back to meet the rest of the group, but Sinns blocked her path.

One Eyed Ghoul; a Tokyo Ghoul fanfic.
A for want of a nail fic I write in between moments when I'm working on my original story. Originally posted on FanFiction.net, but brought over here to allow people to compare it to my original work if they wish. The premise is as follows: Hide decides to pay Ken an early visit in the hospital. He cares too much to let his friend recover alone. A tiny change to the sequence of events, an entirely different story. Some bloody scenes, but no worse than the original story offered.
