"Tell me everything you know about Maeth," Vincent asked.
"Maeth is the ancestor of the Mammoth clan also known as the Mammon clan. He was the progenitor and the greatest leader the clan ever had. He was a great leader and an even greater warrior."
"The moniker of unstoppable was given to him because it was said that he could not be stopped when he began his dash, irrespective of the obstacle."
"This was further cemented into his being when he took the clan to higher heights by ascending to become a Deus, The concept of 'unstoppable' became one of his divinities."
"Although because of his ascension into Deus, he could no longer lead the clan due to the restriction on his being. So now he resides in the realm of Deus."
"I see… I wonder why his inheritance trial is in Migas and not in eulogeo.." Vincent asked
"There is an inheritance trial in eulogeo." Amelia corrected, "but I don't know why there's one in Migas."
"Perhaps it's because of his mate,"
"Mate?"
"Yes, Maeth never mated with one of his fellow clanmates. He rather fell in love with a human and gave birth to a Migas named Gorg"
"This is also the reason that even though there are 2 clans, the main clan in eulogeo and a branch in Migas. The leader of the Migas branch is directly the leader of the main clan in eulogeo also."
"Really? That's a weird system." Vincent commented
Amelia checked before answering back, "True, that's why such a system naturally had those who disapproved of it. But they had no choice but to shut their protest and agree with Maeth."
"Why?"
"Power dominates all," Amelia replied solemnly.
"..."
A moment of silence was between the two before Vincent decided to change the topic.
"And what about Nif? The sacred land the voice said.." He asked.
"Nif is the ancestral land of the Maeth clan, It is a snow barren land in eulogeo that was claimed by Maeth after he had killed the former Lord of the land."
"Nif is an unforgiving land of peril. My ancestor not only had to fend off dangerous beasts that roamed it, but they also had to survive the deadly cold temperature that was its nature."
"Mmh… And how cold is Nif."
"According to the legends and the current translation, Nifs coldest temperature hit a point so cold that it almost caused everything that existed in its range to stop moving."
'Absolute Zero!' Vincent thought in surprise.
[That would be a problem.]
'You think!'
"Sigh, Troublesome" Vincent muttered.
"Huh?" Amelia wondered.
Vincent sighed again and proceeded to explain, "I don't think you've noticed Amelia, But the temperature has gone down."

"And if what the voice said relates with your words."
Amelia realized what he was getting at, and her eyes widened at the thought of it, "Then our first trial is to survive absolute zero… and maybe beyond." She concluded
"Exactly."
"B-But that's impossible."
Vincent raised a hand and lightning danced above his palm, "It may not be." He said with a smile,
"Lightning heats the air to about 27,000 degrees [50,000 Fahrenheit] about 5 times hotter than the surface of the sun."
"If we clear out a field, I can create a lightning strike to heat the air around us in intervals. Theoretically, this should work."
[It does seem plausible, But the field would have to be wide enough so that the heat doesn't burn her skin. You don't have to worry due to your fire and lightning immunity but the girl on the other hand.]
'Yeah, I can have her put up an ice aura behind her. It should be able to ease up the heat on her.'
[Yes, that can work.]
"And if it doesn't," Amelia asked.
"Then we either die by the cold or we die by the heat the lightning creates."
"..."
"Are you willing to take the chance?" Vincent asked her.
"..."
"Yes."
"Good" Vincent saiɗ and then proceeded to sit on the ground with his back rested on the wall.
Amelia looked at Vincent with a questioning look, He looked back at her and said, "It's still pretty warm stupid, I will start when it gets colder."
Amelia blushed in embarrassment and proceeded to sit down beside him.
"Sigh, It's a shame that we couldn't pack the supplies we left in Broscour," Vincent said out loud.
Amelia felt even more embarrassed because she knew that it was her fault, but then she remembered something that may help.
She brought out her palms to her eyes and found what she was looking for.
"Yes!"
Vincent, curious at the sudden joy she displayed, glanced at her finger and soon understood why.
A storage ring.
'Yes!'
///// -5°C/////
As the temperature fell further and further, Vincent was forced to conjure a burning flame to keep him and Amelia warm, Mostly Amelia.
'I thought her bloodline should protect her from all this stuff.'
[Amelia has a diluted bloodline from an already tainted bloodline. That's why she has this much resistance to cold.]
[Which is a lot, that is, A normal person would probably be in shock if they were in this temperature with only a shirt and a trouser.]
'Mmh, True' He agreed with the system
All of a sudden, Vincent felt dampness on his shoulder. He looked towards it and saw a wet patch on his shoulder.

He then looked up towards the fog in the sky.
The well-known white militia began to fall from it onwards to the ground, by ones, twos, fours until it clouded the sky itself.
This scene would bring joy to children
'Snow?'
But it brought peril to Vincent.
'Snow!'
///// -28°C /////
A snowstorm hit, forcing Vincent and Amelia into a tent that Amelia miraculously had a spare kept in the storage in case of an emergency.
Vincent kept up the burning flame and made it stronger than before to cope with the cold temperature, it was working fine… for now.
In the tent, they warmed the rations they had in the ring and ate till full.
Amelia couldn't help but sleep right after whilst Vincent choose to keep watch.
///// -52°C /////
The snowstorm jumped in levels and became a fierce blizzard so Vincent secured the tent further by tightening the ground's grip on the tent's ropes.
///// -70°C /////
10 pairs of fireballs floated around, within and outside the tent. Vincent had to do this to avoid getting swallowed by the snow, and also to heat the tent.
Amelia had awoken at his time and had a second meal with Vincent. As she did so, she couldn't help but think of how easy it was.
She had learned about the perils of inheritance trials from her clan and connections in other clans.
'A team of 20 armed and well-trained mercenaries, each capable of dealing with groups of S-Rank beasts alone, once challenged the Elv race inheritance trial and they all fell.'
'But why is this trial so… easy?' She thought as she glanced at the floating balls of fire that warmed the place.
[AN: Why can't people just keep their mouths shut!?]
Out of the blue, a loud thump was heard.
Vincent and Amelia's instincts flared up and they put up their guard.
However, Vincent recalled something dreadful, "Amelia" He began
"Yes?"
"What kind of beasts lived on nif." He asked
"Uhm… Dark Beast…" She then realized what Vincent was getting at
"Shit!" She cursed
"RAAAAARRRR!!!"
///// Meanwhile On Broscour Hills /////
On a mountain just coated by an avalanche. A sizzling sound could be heard, following the sound to its source, A reddened glow beneath a valley's worth of snow would be found.
Soon, The ice on and around that glow begins to dissipate into smoke skipping its liquidity phase, making a hole, and from that hole, Ama emerged.
Dry, Unharmed but annoyed.
"Damn you, Murphy," She cursed out.
[AN: Even in an alternate world, The power of Murphy is supreme :) .]
Ama sighs and proceeds to climb out of the heap of snow just to come face to face with the cause of the avalanche.
A giant wolf Dark Beast adapted to the snowy mountain terrain as evidenced by its white fur. It stood on four legs and was about 4 times bigger than Ama.
It snarled alarmingly at her.
'SS-Rank Low.' Her instincts told her.
The wolf bent towards Ama and sniffed her, it was about to roar again in intimidation but Ama was not having that.
Before it could roar, She delivered a fist straight to its chin, a sucker punch empowered by loads of ether, something her bloodline gifted her generously with.
The punch hit dead on center and sent the beast flying high into the air and onto a patch of snow far away.
"As if I'll let you cause another avalanche, bastard!" She yelled.
The beast soon recovered from the punch and recovered its stance. It seemed to have pains opening its mouth as it was a little unhinged.
It got angry at the cause of the mess and was about to let out another roar in such anger.
But another fist to its head sent it downwards to the ground and caused it to shut up.
"You never learn, do you?" Ama said, staring at the downed form of a beast 4 times her size.
She raised her fist and muttered, "Maybe you'll learn in another life."
"Ha!' She said as punched the beast further into the ground causing a crater to form and the crack to extend around.
The punch popped the head of the beast like a balloon, which ended its life in a beat, but it caused another avalanche to fall.
This time it began from her location downwards so it did not affect her.
Ama stared at the falling snow dazedly and shrugged after to continue her journey but not before sending a little flame to the downed beast, which set it on fire and burnt it to a crisp in a wink.
'It's good to let loose after all this pretending' She thought inwardly.
This is the true strength of Ama J. Ivory, A being capable of ending an SS-Rank beast with her bare fist.
A monster
…
But a monster that wants to get stronger.
…
Do you know why?
…
Because she has found someone stronger than her regardless

Tales of a Grim World.
Ancient prophecies say that once every thousand years, one shall rise to bring about a new age of darkness. A harbinger of evil, a being born for the sole purpose of sowing misery and disgrace. Through them, the world shall know of war, famine, pestilence and death— the four seals that herald the end of times. Besieged by the maws of evil, humankind shall suffer in agony as they watch everything they once knew be unmade before them. To oppose such a being, the whole world has had to stand united, in the battles that came to be historically known as the Great Holy Wars. Guided by the Saintess of Irithel, brave heroes coming from the four corners of the world had to sacrifice their lives in order to fight against the Harbinger and cast away the darkness. Our story begins in the year 578, a bit over six hundred years since the end of the fifth holy war. In the kingdom of Valtia, a small nation belonging to the Union of Western Kingdoms, an urgent missive bearing the royal seal arrives at the hands of Earl William Taylor. Though it might still be almost half a millennia too early for another Harbinger to be born, dark clouds already loom over the northern continent of Gram, as many bizarre events start taking place. Follow the story of our main characters as they struggle to survive in a grim, unforgiving world. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Warning: This work is intended for mature audiences and contains adult scenes and heavy descriptions of violence and gore. A Nation of Distances (possibly a dystopian love story)
Michael lives in a toxic macho world with extreme male hierarchy. When he gets a weird rating that makes his place even more problematic he's forced to choose a fiancée at a Wife School, and he slowly discovers more about the other side of the great divide between the sexes in The Nation. If only the world would stop being so complicated... On the other side there's Megan, who's more interested in books than in marriage, and the unpredictable Eliza who seems to have a connection with Micheal already. Will they be able to cross the distance and become friends against all the rules of their own world, or will they just be crushed? Are positive relationships between men and women even possible? And is there a way to change the world or is that just a naive thought of a silly wimp? 'A Nation of Distances' is a slightly dystopian dialogue-heavy drama set in a low sci-fi future setting about the war between the sexes, disconnect and friendship. The genre will fluctuate in between more slice-of-life parts and soft sci-fi drama with possible romantic elements, with alternating lead and switching perspectives once more of the main characters are established. Content Warning: Certain concepts and scenes might be disturbing and/or triggering to some, even though the story itself won't be extremely heavy most of the time. Sexism as a double-edged sword destructive to both sexes is an important part of the story, but so is friendship.Note that all descriptions of persons and places are purely fictional and made up by the writer, and any resemblance with anything in the real world is a coincidence, since the real world is not supposed to be dystopian anyway!
