Preparations were done and powers drawn. Soon after this, Vincent felt a greater dip on his ether pool as it went below his half mark.

It has been a month since then and Vincent was now sitting in class bored out of his mind. With lifeless eyes, he stared at the board with an empty mind.

Luckily soon after, A female familiar to Vincent entered the class and stood before them.

She donned black-on-black convenient wear, had dark messy hair, very visible dark bags possibly from sleepless nights, and slightly crooked glasses.

'Wait is this not Librarian@a, Why does it look like she has not slept in centuries.'

Librarian Mai let out a cute yawn before she began to address them, "Yawn, Good morning brats."

"I am here today on behalf of the school with important information."

"As you know it has been 2 months or so since you have been admitted into this school and according to the schedule. Your first term exam is upcoming."

The students began to murmur to their friends, asking whether this was true or not. Of course, this greatly irked the tsun librarian.

"Quiet!!!" She shouted with anger, and they immediately kept shut.

"Good"

"Now for those of you that do not know, The terms exams follow the same format unless In a situation where stated otherwise"

"This is one of those situations"

"To ensure that all students have the equal chance to acquire Merit Points before the implementation of the Merit Point system."

"The school has decided to add an optional exam route."

"Now you can either take the original exam path which consists of taking a written exam and a practical exam where you will have to prove your capability against an instructor or a dark beast."

"Or you can take the new optional route of obtaining 500 Merit Points."

A random student suddenly stood up and complained, "But how? There is no method to gain merit points."

His fellow students looked at him, wondering how someone could ask such a dumb question.

Librarian Mai glared at the student with so much anger and replied, "If you had shut up for a minute and used a shred of common sense that you may or may not possess."

"You'll realize that I was just getting to that. Now do us all a favor and sit the fuck down idiot." Librarian Mai snapped back.

'Oof' Vincent thought, he chuckled at the situation.

Liberian Mai promptly glared at him and he kept shut immediately

"Tch, Brats." She mumbled.

The student sat back ashamed as his mates laughed at him.

Librarian Mai clicked her tongue in annoyance and continued, "As I was about to say before I was stupidly interrupted. For the optional exam route, you need to obtain 500 merit points.

"Because of this, the school is introducing a method to gain points and that is through a Mercenary Enrollment Program."

"If you apply into this program, Aemplefort will sign you up to become a mercenary and support you with basic equipment and tool support."

"The school will also give a discounted price for weapons and potions to those who enroll into the program."

"As a mercenary, you can either take a quest, kill Dark Beasts and sell it or take quests to kill a certain Dark Beast. You will gain merit points for doing all of these."

"Your goal is to gain 500 merit points which is the equivalent of 5 A-Rank beasts."

"Dark Beasts worth are as follows;

"C-Rank Dark Beasts are worth 1 Point.

B-Ranks is worth 10 Points

A-Ranks is worth 100 points.

S-Ranks' worth is variable."

"Going through this method is dangerous but it is also more beneficial."

"Either way all you need is at least 500 merit points on hand for the exam."

"Ama, Vincent, and Amelia, with the graduation exam pass you received from the event, You are allowed to skip any exam according to the number of passes you have but you can not skip the graduation exam under any circumstance."

"But even if you decide to skip this exam, You are still able to apply for the Enrollment Program, so you can also earn merit points before the system is implemented."

"Yawn, Either way, that is all. Do you have any questions?"

A female student signified with her hands.

"Okay, you." She pointed.

"Miss Mai, What happened to Instructor Pryde. We have not seen him for a month now."

Librarian Mai kept quiet for a while before replying, "Instructor Pryde is currently on a vacation break with his family."

'He is probably still injured from that.' Vincent figured.

"Is there anything else?" asked Librarian Mai

The student shook her head in response then sat down.

"Ok, are there any more questions?" She asked again, to which no one replied.

"If there's no one else then I'll be going now." Promptly after she said that Librarian Mai exited the room in a hurry.

'Mmh, is it possible that Instructor Pryde's crush is probably not one-sided?' Vincent thought with a small smile.

"More importantly, it looks like I'm becoming a mercenary."
