Bellania looked on in amazement at the changes in the flower before looking at nick in a way that demanded an explanation. nick smiled seeing the flower flourish before turning towards bellania "throughout the universe there is a type of energy known as qi and qi has a unique property of being capable of strengthening just about anything living or not." he said before pausing to make sure she was following along. "this flower is what is known as a mutant." he said before explaining what a mutant is. "however the offspring of this flower will not be mutants but rather simply be called spirit herbs which are plants born with qi the same process can also apply to animals except those are called spirit beast and they eventually gain intelligence , now for people it is slightly different since we can't take in qi recklessly or else it might kill us , the reason for this is because we are born with intelligence giving us a higher advantage against every other creature minus a few of races but you don't have those in this world so it doesn't matter." nick explained seriously. Bellania had a hard time believing what nick said in fact the only reason she didn't flat out reject it was because it explains literally all the strange things that she had seen nick do. "i can see you don't fully accept what i am saying so i will show you undeniable proof." nick said before conjuring a fireball above his hand shocking bellania who jumped back in fear. "how is that possible!" she exclaimed. nick smirked before dissipating the fireball. "i believe i already explained that." he said with a smug look. bellania took a deep breath to calm herself . "as a matter of fact you did not explain how you can create fire out of nothing much less how it didn't burn your hand." she said making nick freeze as he realized he actually didn't explain that yet." well once someone passes the body refinement tier they can use their qi to create phenomenon like this as for why i wasn't burned that's simply because most uses of qi won't hurt the person who uses it with a few exceptions of course." he explained calmly. "ok so you mentioned body refinement tier , what is that?" bellania asked deeply enthralled with the new information she is getting.

Nick nodded "that was actually what i was going to explain next , so when humans take in qi it is a process called cultivation and cultivation is separated by different tiers the first of which is body refinement." nick said before going on to teach bellania enough for her to have a stable footing in the cultivation world. nick sensed that victoria was approaching from the other side of the tree so he quickly but carefully took the mutant lily before telling bellania not to share what she had been told and turning to where victoria was coming from with a casual expression. victoria came around the side of the tree to see her daughter a good distance from nick who was strangely enough looking right at her like he was expecting her but dismissed the thought. "lunch is ready so i thought I'd come see how the two of you were doing." she said sweetly.

In The Maw Of The Gods
Synopsis Lilly Harper was always the type to keep to herself. She struggled to make friendships and so, she simply opted not to. That was why moving to the coastal town of Wilham didn’t bother her. She wasn’t leaving anybody behind and she certainly didn’t expect to be making any friends any time soon. However, when she starts hearing about the school’s “Magic Club”—a group of weirdos who claim that magic is real, she can’t deny that she’s slightly intrigued. Then without warning, she suddenly finds herself wrapped up with them. And what if they aren’t crazy? What if magic is actually real? And what if it’s because of that magic that something more powerful than they could ever conceive of is drawn to Wilham? I plan to follow a release schedule of Tuesday/Friday. Average chapter length will be 4,000 to 6,000 words and I will be using multiple POV's quite often. Also to note, while I am flagging the story with content warnings, I am only doing so because there are specific moments where it will be needed. Overall, the story will be relatively tame and I plan to put extra warnings at the beginning of chapters that it applies to. Thank you to everybody who decides to give my story a chance and I hope you enjoy it!
