Nick was sitting in his temporary residence with turbulent energy waves radiating from him as he made the breakthrough to void chasing completely unaware that he had been exposed. the energy grew even more violent before nick heard a "click" sound like someone snapped their fingers and the energy grew still for a split second before rapidly being s.u.c.k.e.d into his void core. nick felt his new strength and smiled since it truly was a vast difference from before as it felt like his strength increased by two times. before he could begin trying to increase his body refinement he felt the clan leaders angry aura outside the house and sighed since he felt the aura of another powerful individual with him. standing up nick burned away the impurities that were excreted from his breakthrough and got dressed before walking out of the house calmly. "is there something i can help you fine folks with?" nick asked calmly. the clan leader looked like he wanted to strangle nick but managed to maintain his composure "you really gave us a useless couple of recipes you brat!"

Nick shook his head "they are far from useless after all you yourself have already verified that , so why are you still saying otherwise?" nick asked calmly. a vein popped on the clan leaders head from anger when he heard what nick said but he took a deep breathe to calm down which worked since the vein shrank rapidly before disappearing again. "i admit i didn't imagine you would have an different alchemy method than the normal one so you truly had me fooled there for a moment." the clan leader said while watching nick closely. nick nods "indeed i do but before this gets any further i have a question if you'll humor me." nick said still completely calm. the clan leader was quite unnerved at how calm nick was despite having been caught. "what do you want to know?" the clan leader asked coldly. nick looked at the individual with the clan leader an old woman with dark skin and bright green eyes. "who figured it out?" he asked curiously. the clan leader was taken back by that question since he thought it obvious. "elder yan here obvi..." nick cut him off "don't lie to me me." nick said coldly. the clan leader paused before looking at nick seriously "why did you say i was lying?" he asked coldly.

Nick grinned smugly "as you should be aware all cultivators have a certain level of pride which shows in how they act , so when you said that this person was the one who discovered the existence of my method she looked away which means she couldn't have been the one am i right elder yan?" nick asked with a smug grin. elder yan sighed "you truly are a fearsome youth , yes you are right i was not the one who discovered your method." she said while eyeing nick. the clan leader was stunned since elder yan lied to him and he didn't realize it. "let me take a guess the actually person who discovered it is some insignificant individual right?" nick asked while looking at elder yan who nodded. "was it an assistant or an apprentice?" nick asked calmly. elder yan sighed again "you really are incredibly sharp , it was an apprentice from one of the branch families who is only average in terms of talent. i am curious why did you think it was someone insignificant?" elder yan asked curiously. nick grinned "its simple really the higher you get in a field the more ingrained your knowledge is in your mind so only someone who wasn't ingrained with the standard way of thinking about alchemy would ask if there was another possibility." he said which caused elder yan laughed . "yes that makes perfect sense habits are hard to change indeed." she said after she finished laughing.
