《The destruction and creation system》Chapter 99 - awkward

Nick carefully removed azdra from jakobs hand and admonished the little beast for attacking him before putting azdra on his shoulder. azdra glared at jakob since he thought it was jakobs fault that he got in trouble with his father. nick saw this but could't say anything as that is simply how children are if they get into trouble. jakob was patiently waiting for nick to finish dealing with azdra the entire time before he spoke out "i'm going to take a guess that you just got that thing." he said calmly. nick chuckled awkwardly "hatched him yesterday in fact." nick said after he stopped being embarrassed. jakob nodded "figured you only just got the thing since you haven't had it till now , or if you did you weren't taking good care of it since the little ones of his kind are defenseless." jakob said. nick was stunned when he heard what jakob said. "wait you know what he is!?" nick asked in shock. jakob chuckled slightly "not precisely but he is some sort of wyrm , yes?" he said while gesturing at azdra who growled at him. nick was surprised by the question "yes he is a type of wyrm , how did you know?" he asked confused. jakob shrugged "my families got an extremely powerful one as a guardian who has quite a similar shape to your little one though i'd imagine yours is of a higher breed." he said casually.
nick was surprised at the information "does that mean wyrms are very common?"nick asked. jakob laughed vigorously when he heard the question. jakob laughed for a few minutes before he could speak. "sorry but that is just funny , no wyrms aren't common in fact they are rarer than dragons and phoenixs , though for you i suppose dragons will be quite a common sight in the future" jakob said with a grin. nick rolled his eyes "don't remind me about this damn brand ." he complained. jakob chuckled "couldn't help it ,it's just too damn funny that you seem to attract women like a flame to moths. speaking of women care to tell me about the goddess you tried to pass off on me?" jakob asked after making a joke at nicks expense. nick glared at jakob playfully "why am i friends with you again?" he asked exasperated. jakob grinned "because you met me at the perfect time and because i'm just that good." jakob said smugly before both of them burst into laughter.

unknowingly azdra had stopped being aggressive towards jakob once he noticed how friendly he was with his father. "no seriously whats up with that goddess though?" jakob said after they stopped laughing. nick sighed "ok so you know about my trip recently right?" jakob nods. "well me and lo mia acquired a treasure vault that had azdras egg as well as a vial of divine essence not that lo mia was aware of that , any way i got the egg and the essence as well as a few other things , anyway after shooing off lo mia i added the essence to myself to get the bloodline." jakob interrupted "and the bloodline was the goddess of darkness right?" nick nods. jakob continues "then after that she showed up trying to take you, right?" nick nodded confused. "you my friend either have the best luck or the worst , the essence you took in had a promise attached to it." jakob said while looking sympathetic. nick sighed "what promise" he asked depressed. "the goddess gave that vial to some sword sect cant remember which that whoever used it would owe her fifty years of their life in which they would belong to her." jakob said with a stoic face.
nick sighed in resignation "i was curious about why no one from the sect had used the essence when i found it so that's the reason. got to admit it sucks that i wasn't aware of that before i took in the bloodline." nick said depressed. jakob nodded "yeah i feel bad for you but if its any consolation the goddess seems to want you as her mate rather than a tool. which is obvious since she is actually adhering to your rule of not forcing you to marry her but rather she is pursuing you in her own way." jakob said reassuringly.
