Jakob is in awe of nicks conviction since he has only felt such a thing from those who have lost everything and used it as a lesson on life. His uncle was one such person after having lost his wife and child during an assassination attempt on him . nick was unaware of jakobs thoughts on him and even if he was he wouldn't care since it didn't matter that much anyway. "Well since we got business out of the way should we move on to p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e then." Jakob said with a grin . nick grinned back "don't know what kind of p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e you mean but if you mean women I won't partake since I value chastity too much for such activities however I wouldn't mind some good food or music." He said while patting his gut. "Hahaha good man! That's what I meant only those who are foolish would waste their potential by going to a brothel for entertainment ." jakob said confusing nick as he has no idea about dual cultivation. "What do you mean wasting potential?" Nick asked curiously not knowing that it was supposed to be common to teach your childrethese things when they begin cultivating. Jakob looks at nick oddly before figuring out that nicks parents must not have told him about the dos and don'ts of cultivation. "Seeing as you'll probably get taken advantage of if you don't know I'll explain some general knowledge about cultivation including dual cultivation , but before that let me treat you to the best place for cultivators to enjoy themselves in this city." Jakob says before he takes off into the air where nick follows him leaving the passing commoners in awe. Jakob flies toward a building that truly stands out against the red background of the city a four story pagoda with clean white walls and sharp black tiles covering the roof giving off the impression of nobility as it stands aside from the other buildings . jakob lands in front of the pagoda and gestures grandly "welcome to this cities branch of heavens pagoda the best place for traveling cultivators to enjoy themselves !"

Nick is truly excited about this place as he has next to no knowledge of how cultivators usually act outside of cultivation. "Come we'll go in under my name since its your first time here ." jakob says as he walks up to the sliding double doors of the pagoda were 2 men who give off powerful vibes stand on either side of them ."halt verify your name and cultivation before proceeding through the door." One of the men said blandly. "Jakob welk origin core tier 3" Jakob says before looking at nick. "Nicholas farias origin core tier 2" nicks says . the man who spoke nods before motioning them to enter as the double first slide open automatically.leading into a well lit lobby area were a young woman.and stands behind a small desk waiting for the 2 of them to arrive "welcome to heavens pagoda who should I place this visit under ?" The woman says while holding a clipboard looking at nick and jakob expectantly . jakob speaks up "that would be Jakob welk also if you don't mind would you please explain the choices the pagoda offers since he's new here." The woman smiled and nods "it's my job to do so no need to be so polite about it. This pagoda has 3 levels beyond this 1 were the quality of goods is increased as you go up the first floor is accessible to anyone who can enter the front door however in order to go to higher floors you must either be the correct cultivation level or show a talent beyond the average to a certain extent depending on which floor you want to go to." She explained passionately. Nick nods after hearing the explanation then ask "so is everyone in the party tested or is it only the host who is tested ?" The woman says "the host is allowed to only bring 1 extra person that does not require testing while if a party is more than 2 every other person is tested those allowing the pagoda to not be cheated by someone bringing a large group to the top floor without earning the right to." Nick nods the asked "what is the requirements to enter the top floor of the pagoda?" The woman smiles brightly "either a void level cultivation or two or more professions at the peak of the 3rd tier". She says calmly.

Sebastian's one solitary hope was that he possessed magic, and would be accepted into the Mage's Guild as a novice. Sometimes life gives you what you wish for, but in a way you never saw coming.

Wolf's Oath Book 1: Oath Sworn
In Aralt ‘Wolf” syr Tremayne’s world, skyships sail above tidal extremes, crystal swords are Tuned, and the soul-touched inspire both awe and fear. The latter doesn’t phase him, he carries a Tuned blade, and as for the ships…Aralt prefers to keep his feet on solid ground. Having finally laid to rest the ghosts of his past, he is unprepared when the grave gives one of them back. To his shame, it isn’t the one he wants. Lian Kynsei’s arrival upends Aralt’s life, but there is nothing he can do about it. Oath-bound to Lian, the last of a priestly clan, he is now defender of the scion of a faith he no longer shares. But the boy Aralt once knew is gone. In his place is a reckless, traumatized teen who can light the sky on fire. The more they get reacquainted, the less Aralt likes him—and the feeling is mutual. As revenge against a common enemy boils in his blood, Aralt struggles to do his oath-sworn duty and secure sanctuary for the heir-apparent to a mystical dynasty. But instead of safety, every step brings them closer to danger: sky pirates, cannibals, and a relentless soulless scourge unleashed by their enemy are all intent on killing Lian—or worse. Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
