The city lord looks at the soda curiously "I'm afraid I've not had the privilege of hearing of this beverage, though it certainly does appear quite unique in its container." He says while inspecting the soda can curiously. "And I open it by pulling this level here towards me?" He asked nick who nods in agreement. The city lord pulls the tab opening the can causing the effervescent liquid to start bubbling as the carbonation is released into the air. the city lord is surprised at the bubbles forming and popping at the top of the liquid. "Is that supposed to happen?" He asked nick "yeah see look at mine" nick says while showing the city lord his soda to reassure him. The city lord follows nicks example and drinks out of the can , as the liquid lands on his tongue the city lord to shocked at the multitude of flavors rolling around in his mouth while noting the crispness the soda had as well. "This is quite good I can see why sir cultivator prefers it so much." The city lord says with enthusiasm. "Glad you like it however I doubt the business you wanted to take about was what beverage I prefer." Nick says calmly. The city lord coughs embarrassed before becoming serious "you are right in actual fact the business I had in mind was a bit more interesting ,you see it has recently come to my attention that you are both an alchemist and an array master which is quite hard to come by so far from the center of the continent, and so seeing as you are here I'd like you make a few arrays around my estate as well as create a few pills for me as well." He says seriously. Nick looks at the city lord and frowns "and I assume you mean to pay me for my work yes?" he questions while his eyes become sharp staring down the city lord. "Of course i don't expect you to work for nothing , I am willing to give you 100 thousand gold per array that you make and 15 percent higher than the market price for the pills." The city lord says proudly. Nick nods and relaxes slightly when the cliché blackmail didn't happen. "Before we sign a contract to ensure neither party attempts foul play would you mind telling me what arrays and pills you want specifically so that I can tell you whether or not I can even make them." nick said honestly. The city lord mentally curses when nick mentioned the contract believing he could simply cheat nick with blackmail after he got what he wanted. "Sigh, I want the maximum 5 arrays to be ,2 defensive arrays ,1 illusion array, 1 random teleportation array, and 1 self destruction array all tier 1 of course as I can only afford 1 of those tier 2s if I didn't mind going bankrupt. As for the pills 1 foundation pill,5 qi gathering pill,1 antidote pill,1 healing pill and finally 4 refinement pills." He list everything he wanted before waiting on nick to confirm he can give him those things. Nick thinks over the things the city lord wants before he nods and says " I already have the antidote pill and healing pill but I could make everything else within about a week. So 500 thousand gold for the arrays and about 257 thousand gold for the pills so 757 thousand in total right?" The city lord agrees with that amount "I suppose we should sign the contract then huh." he says while feeling the pinch in his heart at the loss. Nick quickly buys the highest ranked contract from the shop before pulling it out blinding both of them from its own aura. 'Dear gods a basic contract I can escape for a huge price but why did it have to be a heavens law contract.' The city lord mourns his poor luck in finding someone so paranoid.

8 146Amir: A Short Horror Story
"My throat became dry; my tongue felt like sandpaper scraping against the top of my mouth. My mind became fuzzy. I had no chance of survival against this, this thing, and It was toying with me. It seemed to see the fear in my eyes and laughed, the metal sounding voice screeching like nails on a chalkboard. " I wrote this when I was young, and I haven't touched it since 2019, so don't worry about it.
