While veras and Gregory were celebrating about veras's furtune nick was talking to the system.
'So let me get this straight in this world cultivators are normal and so an unbelievablly strong baby is not unheard of?'
*DING*
*Host is correct however there is a limit *
'Which is ?'
*Surpassing the body refinement class while an infant .*
'You're not going to try to trick me into reaching that limit are you?' Nick asked the system suspicious since it has tricked him before .
*of course not host if host is too extreme it will place host in danger of being killed.* the system replies slightly irritated at nick. Nick sort of wants to smack his forehead at his stupidity but stops when he realizes that he is still an infant . And so nick spent his infant and toddler years slowly improving his power in what is considered normal standards , but what the system didn't tell him was that it was only normal for absolute geniuses instead of normal cultivators .
Six years pass in this way as nick finally seems to notice something wrong .
'System why is everyone else my age still in the body refinement class while I'm in the spirit gathering class?' Nick ask the system in confusion.
*host is a genius so it is normal of course * The system answers matter of factly.
Nick finally knows that his suspicions were right on point . (okay so to be fair the reason nick didn't figure it out sooner was because children aren't exposed to each other till they are six so nick never had anything to compare himself to.) Nick was furious at the system for not telling him sooner .
'Status!'

'System explain now!'
*Host forgot that system is here to make host powerful enough to rule over everything .*
'what about what I want ?'
*ding*
*unless it makes you stronger it is irrelevant.*
Nick was stunned at the system which for all intents and purposes did not care what he thought.
'Fine then I'll just go ask my father about cultivation so you can't trick me any More.' nick thought angrily at the system.
*can host not blame me for your ineptitude*
Nick ignores the system and walks across the room he is in towards the door.
He grabs the groove on the side and slides it open and steps out into the courtyard which is much like a garden filled with various flowers and fruit trees . nick breathes in the pleasant aroma and walks towards the exit of the courtyard were two guards are standing each giving off a thick aura of power ,one of them looks over towards nick and speaks up . "young master Nicholas seems to want to go somewhere would you need a guard while you are out ?" His voice was respectful and kind as he spoke . nick shakes his head and says " no I'm only going to see my father but thank you for the offer." The guard nods then says " young master need not thank this lowly one as it is my job."
Nick nods at the guard then walks through the exit calmly. After nick is out of earshot the guard starts talking to the other. " the young master is and odd one , not that I'm complaining as he treats us well." He says to the other guard. "You're right but he is a genius so being a little odd makes sense I mean I've never heard of a young master who cares for flowers and treats everyone well without an ounce of arrogance." The other guard says.

The first guard nods and finally says "we need to save him in the attack he doesn't deserve to die so young because of his family." The second guard then says "I'll send him out into town so he's not here when the others come." Both guards stop talking and go back to doing their jobs .

The Humble Life of a Skill Trainer
For Joshua Still, Skills were the lifeblood of his business. He wanted to understand them, collect many of them, and teach a few of them. Which was a problem because while his profession of a Skill Trainer was perfectly legal, it was frowned upon by most of the kingdom. After all, it wouldn't do for a non-tailor to teach Tailoring. Or, so says the Tailors Guild. The same could be said by the Blacksmiths, the Bakers, the Butchers, the Candlestick Makers, the Mages, and every other Guild with enough money and clout to complain. But still, Skill Trainers provide a valuable service, and so he has managed to start his business and keep it under the table. To a degree. With many a bribe. But his quiet anonymous life of research, practice, and training was about to change. When the Baron demands you pay him a visit, you have little choice.
8 300The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
