In the early morning, Moonlian and Mei were having breakfast while Moonlian's phone buzzed. She received the call.
"Good morning, Miss. I am Yan, Delun's secretary. I called you to inform that, you along with other 19 candidates have been selected from yesterday's interview and today you all have to go through a rigorous selection process. So, I request you to visit our Angelo House at sharp 3 am. Congratulations and thank you!"
She hung up the call.
"Moonlian, who was on the phone?" Mei glanced at Moonlian but before she could say anything Moonlian hugged her and shouted in excitement, "I have got selected, I am so happy, Mei. I gotta go."
She then went upstairs, in her room and searched for a dress in the wardrobe, for her big day. She found a black dress suitable and tried it, she also wore a matching small hoop earrings. She had a fair complexion with sugary cherry lips, so it was obvious that the Black dress suited her perfectly. She had a waist-length straight hair with a bangs in her front side. Her inquisitive pair of eyes looked more bright.
"Ulalala!" You look like a Black Angel, who just flew from Heaven to Earth." complimented Mei, as her jaw dropped seeing Moonlian.
"Stop kidding Mei!" chuckled Moonlian.
She was so excited for today, as she has always dreamt of this day. She had grown up reading Delun's novels and from that moment, she became his fan and wished to work side by side with him. For this, she graduated from one of the renowned University and today seems to be a lucky day for her. Finally, she reached her destination and took a glimpse of the building, 'The Angelo House' where Yan was waiting for her. He guided her towards the Committee Interview Hall, she had a mixed feeling running in her stomach. Before entering the hall, she tried to calm herself and remembered what Mother Ting told, "Follow your heart and believe in yourself." Then she opened the door.

She saw a small stage, made with oval shaped seat structure, where people were residing over. She straightly went on the stage and saw Delun in the first row, despite being nervous, she didn't let her fear eat her. She smiled, holded the mike and introduced herself.
"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I'm Moonlian and I am 20 years old. Since my early days, I have been fond of Writing, Reading and Playing Musical Instruments. I have to say that this is the first time, I am professionally going to work as an Editor. I don't have much experience but I can assure that I will give my best, with the knowledge I have gained throughout my life.*
Silence covered the hall, that's when Peizhi asked, "Why do you think you deserve to be Delun's Editor?"
She replied graciously, "For a Writer, his Creation is his best friend, his Editor is his Soulmate and his Readers are his Lovers. So, in this World Of Pen and Paper, I want to be his Soulmate."
At this moment, their (Delun's and Moonlian's) eyes met each other, where they seemed to have lost for a fine being. He then clinched his fist, stood up and walked away from there. Her heart ached a little when it happened but everyone started cheering for her and complimented her answers that she almost forgot about Delun.
Meanwhile, in Delun's cabin, he remembered his time with Veronica where she insisted on being his soulmate. He clearly had the image of her innocent face, who said, "I want to be your soulmate." He became furious when he heard it from Moonlian, then he called Yan and ordered him to bring that girl here.
Moonlian was standing outside the hall, many people complimented her and she was grateful towards them but she was expecting it from someone else too.

"Miss, you were great today. I feel like Delun wants you to be his Editor, so he has personally called you in his cabin.", said Yan. She was delighted to hear this and went to Delun's cabin, as guided by Yan. When she entered the cabin, she saw was only his departing back.
"I got to know that you called me, that's why I am here, I think you personally liked my answers a lot! So, you personally invited me to compliment me, right? But it was not good when you left the interview in the middle, it was kinda rude!" said Moonlian.
But before she could continue her words, his cold gaze fell upon her, full of disdain and hatred.
"Do you think you have the audacity to work with me?"
"How dare you seduce me with your filthy words?" By doing so, you think I will hire you? Do you think speaking gracefully and wearing my favorite colour will attract me towards you?" berated Delun.
Hearing his sharp words, she tried to defend herself, " It was not my intention to seduce you, at all. Secondly, I wore this dress because it suited me."
"You, you! dared to speak!" He pointed his finger on her.
"What makes you qualify to be my Editor? By having a degree, you think it will be enough? Let me tell you, before I hire you, I am firing you." he spatted out in anger.
" But, how can you?" Her eyes were filled with tears.
" Get lost", he shouted. The way he humiliated her, it was enough to break someone in a minute but still she stayed there strongly.
I said, "Get out from here!" with this, he banged the table.
With a grave humiliation, she left his cabin. In a minute, she entered a restaurant and ordered a can of beer. She gulped it at once, soon she finished seven cans of beer. She probably became drunk at that time, drops of tears rolled down her cheeks, as she cried at her pitiful life. The waiter told her that the restaurant will close now so she paid the bills and walked her way to the home.
The night fell but Moonlian didn't arrive home, Mei called Moonlian many times but she didn't pick up the call, so she started getting worried.
A heavy rainfall occured. Moonlian on her way, got soaked due to the rain. The only thing on her mind was the insultment, she beared today. It would be okay if it was a normal one but it was from the man, whom she had always cherished throughout her life. She couldn't bear it but could only burst out in tears.
'Ding Dong!', the doorbell rang. Mei opened the door and found that it was Moonlian. She saw that Moonlian was wet and was trembling with cold.
"Moonlian, what happened? Are you fine?", asked Mei. But before she could reply Mei, she fainted.
