《Psycho X Psychic》Chapter 81 - A Great Spirit

"Kuk!"
Gant immediately foamed from his mouth and dropped onto the ground without any resistance.
There was a wave of noticeable purple energy spreading out. To those affected, they will soon forget what that was but those who are not and have witnessed it will remember it for the rest of their lives.
It was the use of a Great Spirit, leagues above a normal Spirit. Even an average man would become a legend in the hidden Spirit World just for wielding a Great Spirit.
Much like Spirit themselves, there is not much known of the existence of these abnormal power. One could only speculate. If a Spirit is born from a dying person's desire to live. Strong enough not to be brought to the afterlife but not strong enough to stay in the mundane world. Therefore, they are stuck in the middle - the Spirit Plane. Here, in this type of gray area, they are able to wield mysterious power while having a chance to affect the physical realm.
One way is to possess a human body, replacing their living consciousness. However, this is much rarer than Spirit themselves as humans, when put to the edge, are able to take their own lives. The other way is to be tamed or agree to a contract with the host.
A power in exchange for-? Only the host and the Spirit knows. But mostly, the Spirit's condition is harmless, they want to watch their host's life as if their own without the power to control it. After all, their desire to live is strong and it should be obvious how desperate they are. Instead of letting their compatible host dies or reject them, they will compromise to become harmless. They are humans in the first place, they are different from Evil Spirits.

Then what about Great Spirits? They are assumed to be Spirits from certain [Heroes]
Heroes are great people in the course of history. Some may not be recorded in history but their strength and mindpower as a living being are extraordinary. Some of them are kings of the past, hermits that have reached enlightenment, valiant warriors that have overcome wars, and revolutionists who have the willpower to stand against dictators all by their own.
These people are what we may also call superhumans since the magnitude of their mental state is a level on their own compared to common people.
But they are not recorded in history... for they have failed. No matter how great one is, one still needs opportunities. The wrong decisions, wrong path, and wrong actions... this made them like common people are they fail and die like everyone else. Due to this regret, their desire to live will be stronger than those who have become successful and are recorded in history, thus, a Great Spirit is born.
It is easy to imagine how unique and powerful these Great Spirits are as they are rare, one may even call them legendary.
Therefore, Gant, knew he had no chance of escaping if the Devil Himself used a Great Spirit. And just like what played in his mind, he is now lying on the ground with foams in his mouth.
The Great Spirit of Mind-Altering. The most vulnerable part of the human being is the mind. Yet, of course, it is hard to attack directly but that isn't the case for this Great Spirit.
Teren slowly walked towards Gant. Gant's disturbing transformation began to subside and he turned back to normal. Without even having the chance to use his full potential and remaining Spirits, Gant lost the battle.
However, Teren stopped and didn't deal the last strike to kill him. Instead, he stood meters away from the unconscious body, waiting...

Soon enough, flashes of bodies went down from the trees. There are two of them - a man and a female blocking Teren's path towards Gant's body.
"Kenavie from the Serpen House."
"Hanson from the Lunari House."
The middle-aged woman with the long and thick ponytail tied behind her head spoke first. Even though she has such a hairstyle, she exudes maturity and patience as seen on her indifferent face.
The second to speak was a man with glasses and hair gelled backward. He had a snappy expression on his face. It was as if just a little push will make him scowl.
In terms of position and strength, they are somewhat in the same league as Gant and Eron.
"Stop this, Mister Teren. Killing an Elite during a non-warring period is forbidden, you should know that." Hanson spoke again.
Kenavie then added, "You don't have unlimited power. As of now, we are standing on the neutral side. If by a wrong decision, you want to kill this musclehead, you have to go through us."
However, Teren stayed motionless with his deadeyes staring at them. He looked like a deadman propped up.
"Mister Teren, please turn back now. You have already shown your strength. I, from the Lunari House will forfeit and will not bother you any longer." Hanson bowed his head after a sharp glare. He then rolled these intimidating eyes towards Kenavie, who followed and slightly bowed her head too.
"I, from the Serpen house will forfeit and will not bother you any longer. We are just here to see the strength of the Devil Himself ourselves."
"..."
But Teren stayed silent.
Although Hanson looked fierce, internally, he was scared and cautious. This is the same for Kenavie who was starting to become nervous behind her indifferent pretty face. Their heartbeats began to rush.
"If you will excuse us, we will take Gant away now." Hanson gulped before stepping back. He didn't dare turn his back.
Following Hanson, Kenavie cautiously stepped back too.
"Stop"
But Teren stopped and they did.
"What is it, Mister Teren?"
"I'm still waiting for someone."
"Someone..."
Kenavie's eyes widened as she and Hanson looked at each other.
"Then, will get out of here!"
She shouted as she was about to run back as they heard a sharp and loud whistling noise from above.
"Oh no..!"
Hanson retreated as fast as he can just like Kenavie in the opposite direction.
The whistling sound become stronger and louder before- BOOM!*

There is a common line of questioning that falls upon students within their first moments at Kingsly. “Why?”. The student asks, “Why am I here?”. This is a futile line of questioning. There are those who remember, and those who do not. I’ll spare you the technical explanation — that’s what we have teachers for. The jist is as follows: those who remember are... how do I put this... more likely. They occupy more time. and the space that time has allowed them — the pertinent amount — is experienced no matter what. Allow me to offer you a bit of personal information: I am not one who remembers. There is no time relevant to me, no space that I occupy. I exist by carving myself here, and continue to exist in the same fashion. You would do well to follow suit. Why am I here? Because I force myself to be. Because the universe, the universes, for all its kicking and screaming, cannot escort me out.
