《Psycho X Psychic》Chapter 48 - The Worst

Like most houses or apartments, the living room, dining area, and kitchen are connected. While its white walls have some strips of light pink, the inside of the apartment was simple and refreshing.
With the cold, Teren felt comfortable inside.
'Can I marry her right now and move in this place?' he jokingly thought, which again, unfortunate for Iesa not to hear it.
It has already been a few minutes since Iesa entered her room to get a t-shirt for Teren. A few minutes are not that long but how much time does one need to get one clothing.
Unless their drawer is a maze or Iesa is someone who doesn't organize her clothing, which is probably not the case, then that few minutes are reasonable.
So Teren was puzzled since Iesa was still not coming out. But right after that thought, the door opened.
'Oh, finally...'
"Sorry for waiting, I just have to change clothes too since I got wet."
Teren's eyes widened.
He was just imagining this earlier.
However, the reality was a lot lot lot better than his imagination...
His jaw just almost fell as he saw Iesa wearing her casual clothing, emphasizing her slim arms. It also hid most of her short pants that revealed her slender, unblemished, white legs.
Teren was almost petrified from staring at her but realizing it, he pinched his thigh.
'Self-control!'
But it was not just he that was embarrassed.
Truthfully, Iesa was used to wearing clothes that make her look bland like pajamas and a plain jacket. This is because she was protecting herself from her "father's" eyes.
Going out in that form for Teren to see, she stopped in her tracks and found a more "suitable" outfit!
'Cute...' she thought and wore it. But looking at herself in the mirror, she felt embarrassed.

And that made her confidence skyrocket! If she got embarrassed, surely this will have an impact, right?
Now that she was in front of Teren, shame enveloped her entirety. With a jerk of an arm, she threw the t-shirt to Teren's face.
She ran, closed the door, and before Teren take the t-shirt out of his face, Iesa came out with her normal comfortable outfit.
"Go and get change. Give me your wet uniform and I'll put it in the dryer." she immediately said, stopping Teren from asking anything.
"Uhm..."
"Just go!" she pulled his arm and then pushed him to the bathroom, "Tea or coffee?" she then asked when the door closed.
"I haven't tried tea, yet. So I'll take that one." Teren replied.
Being in Iesa's bathroom, he looked around and saw her toiletries.
'So these are the things that made her smell so good...' he thought before dispersing it, 'Am I a pervert?'
After changing, he went out and saw that Iesa not only prepared the tea, she also prepared some snacks.
"Oh..." Teren's eyes shone.
"Hehe, these go well with tea. Also, do you want to watch something while eating?"
"Sure..."
"Then help me get these to the other table."
...
The two then comfortably sat in the living room with the teas and snacks in front of them. Iesa opened the television and the first thing that came out was a show series called "Dark Crimes"
"You watch this stuff?" Teren tried to start a conversation. But since comfort began to sink in with a sip on his tea, his tension dropped.
"Yep, I just got hook on it. You interested?"
With a pillow on top of her lap, Iesa leaned forward. They both sat on the same couch but with a distance of half a meter between each other.

"Not that I'm interested but..."
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot you're an evil psychopath."
"Evil psychopath...?" Teren just laughed at it since Iesa said it so casually.
"I want to ask though..." she looked at him while her right cheek leaning her fist, "What's the worst thing you've done?"
"Worst thing..." a trace of sadness flashed in Teren's eyes.
Realizing her own question, Iesa became frantic, "Ah, sorry, that's a very insensitive question! I was just curious, that's all."
Teren only smiled.
At that moment, Iesa would do anything if she could hear his thoughts.
But after Terne sipped his tea, he then said.
"If you're really that curious then... I can tell you."
"Sure, as long as you're fine with it." Iesa prepared for the worst. Since Teren does not even bat an eye when trying to kill someone, surely, he must've done a lot worse.
"But you'll hate me once you heard it."
"No, I swear I will not hate you." Iesa was getting anxious. This was a new side that she saw on Teren.
Not bored, not joking, not confident, not domineering, not threatening... he's just serious and looked a bit sad.
WIth Teren's words, Iesa's curiosity reached new heights. She wanted to know badly and know if she will hate him for it or not.
Massacre? She already heard about it.
Kidnapping? Murder is worse.
Torture? She would still be fine with it.
Robbery? That's nothing compared to murder.
****...? That's one of the things she didn't want to hear. She wouldn't know her reaction.
But still, she prepared for the worst, at least, she tried.
Focusing on Teren's next words, Iesa gulped anxiety.
"I killed my own father."
At the same time as lightning struck, Iesa tried but she was still shocked.
Glancing at her reaction, Teren could only sadly smile. After a silent moment, he stood up and took his bag.
"I guess I should go now."
Iesa was still silent but before she could react, Teren was already gone.
"Wait! No! I'm an idiot, why did I daze off!?"
Iesa wanted to slap herself so hard at that moment.
"Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!" she kept repeating, "Wait, he couldn't get away that fast!"
In a hurry, she went outside the hall and saw that the rain was still roaring. However, passing the gate, she saw Teren walk out, neither fast nor slow.
Immediately, not even wearing any shoes, Iesa ran up to him.
"How long did I get dazed!? We're on the fourth floor! Or is he that fast!?"
Running up to him, she saw that he was already gone from the street.
"Miss, wait!" the guard ran to her while bringing a spare umbrella.
"Did you see a young man, the same age as m-"
"There, Miss, he went that way!" seeing that Iesa was panicking, the guard thought it was an emergency so he cut her off.
Iesa ran off while shouting, "Thank you!"
"Your... umbrella..." the guard could only scratch his head.
Iesa ran and ran towards the direction the guard pointed. When she passed a corner, she glanced and saw a Teren's silhouette.
"Teren!" she shouted.
But as soon as Teren's name left her mouth, a bang was heard.
Blood splattered in front of her.
